I'm getting impatient for this wave to come out. |

Really excited for Scarecrow and Flash from this wave most of all! :D |
you know I'm sure I'm asking too much here but I still just want a Lex Lutor in suit. All they have to do is put a Lex head on the Riddler body. Paint the suit black with a white on white tie.

Yeah, I agree completely. The saddest thing is both Mattel AND Hasbro completely fail to take advantage of online resources to produce figures that have little appeal to children, but are high in demand from collectors and fans. I fail to see why civilian figures cannot do well being sold exclusively through e-retailers like MattyCollector and BBTS. I know most kids wouldn't care about Bruce Wayne and Alfred, or Peter Parker and Aunt May (Even though as a kid, I did). But I don't see why secret identities wouldn't do well when they're marketed directly to the fans through collector resources. |

bad thing is the last time I check the DCUC figures and GLC figures BOTH have "Adult Collector" at the bottom of the package. This is what we want, why not give it to us? |
The more I look at these carded, the more this wave is growing on me. Maybe I'm having DCUC withdrawl.
|
Main reason I want wave 17 is for Antimonitor. Mad that most of the figures lack super articulation

Just a small update from MattyCollector today for those attending SDCC. In their latest Q&A with TheFwoosh, the following question was raised...
Q: How will the Un-Men be packaged at SDCC? Will collectors buying Swamp Thing at the show be able to see the Un-Men when they buy them (so they know they got them)? and Matty's answer... A: They will be polly bagged but will be inside the shipper box for the full SDCC show allotment. So, nothing to write home about, but still something interesting to keep in mind if you're planning on hitting up Comic Con 2011 for the amazing Swamp Thing Exclusive! Thanks Matty! |

Our friends over at DCUC.info got some nice, detailed snapshots of the SDCC 2011 DCUC Swamp Thing this past long weekend thanks to California comic shop The Comic Bug and were kind enough to share these shots with us!
The California based comic shop got quite a few of the SDCC 2011 offerings up on display this past weekend. There really is going to be something for everyone this year! Enjoy the attached photos! |

I thought it was a TRU exclusive. Wal Mart didnt want to do the 2 packs any more just 5 packs.

That very well could be, but I am just reporting the info I received that stated Mattel is planning on this one being a Wal-Mart exclusive 2-pack, similar to the Batman/Robin and Aquaman/Black Manta 2-packs from early in 2010. |

MTV Geek has an exclusive look at DCUC Wave 19! It is a JSA themed wave and MTV Geek was kind enough to pass on pictures and full bios of all the characters featured in this soon-to-be-released wave!!!
Sandman: BIOGRAPHY The wealthy Wesley Dodds spent much of his youth in the Far East where he learned martial arts and the wisdom of the ancients. In adulthood, Wesley was tortured by prophetic dreams that inspired him to create a gas mask, gas gun, and costume. As the Sandman, he used his skills and social connections to fight crime, eventually becoming a founding member of the Justice Society of America and serving with the All-Star Squadron. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: ADVENTURE COMICS #40 (July 1939) REAL NAME: Wesley Dodds OCCUPATION: Socialite; crime fighter BASE OF OPERATIONS: New York City SPECIAL ABILITIES: Genius chemist and inventor; gas gun that emits a sleeping gas; “wirepoon” gun; speaks several languages The Atom: BIOGRAPHY Al Pratt was an unlikely choice for a boxer, much less a costumed crime fighter; however, the “98 pound weakling” and college student became an American hero. Devoid of super powers, Pratt nevertheless fought crime as The Atom and was a founding member of the Justice Society of America and All-Star Squadron. It wasn’t until he was exposed to radioactive elements that Pratt changed into a bona fide super-powered hero. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: ALL-AMERICAN COMICS #19 (October 1940) REAL NAME: Al Pratt OCCUPATION: Professor of Nuclear Physics BASE OF OPERATIONS: Calvin College SPECIAL ABILITIES: Skilled boxer; atomic strength and agility Hawkman: BIOGRAPHY During ancient Egypt’s 15th dynasty, Prince Khufu and his beloved Princess Chay-Ara discovered a downed spacecraft from the planet Thanagar. Exposure to the ship’s anti-gravity Nth Metal allowed Khufu and Chay-Ara to be reincarnated countless times throughout the ages to follow. In modern times, Khufu became the hero Hawkman, Chay-Ara reincarnated as his beloved Hawkgirl. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: FLASH COMICS #1 (January 1940) REAL NAME: Carter Hall OCCUPATION: Adventurer BASE OF OPERATIONS: St. Roch, Louisiana SPECIAL ABILITIES: Wing-maneuvered flight enabled by anti-gravity Nth Metal; wields a variety of ancient weapons; expert hand-to-hand combatant Lord Naga: BIOGRAPHY As an infant, Lord Naga and his conjoined twin were taken from their parents by the Cobra Cult of India. The cultists separated the twins and raised Lord Naga to be a brilliant and vicious international terrorist, with hopes that he would lead them through the Kali Yuga—the time of great chaos. He may not have super powers, but with his devious intelligence and ability to manipulate thousands, Lord Naga is one of the most dangerous villains ever to exist. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: KOBRA #1 (March 1976) REAL NAME: Lord Naga OCCUPATION: International terrorist BASE OF OPERATIONS: The Himalayas SPECIAL ABILITIES: Evil mastermind; expert combatant; wears bulletproof cobra costume Magog: BIOGRAPHY Lance Corporal David Reid already had the distinction of being a U.S. Marine and the great-grandson of Franklin D. Roosevelt before he touched the stone fragment that gave him plasma energy powers. While investigating the resurgence of the old God Gog, he was tragically killed by a military attack. Resurrected by Gog, given new powers and the name Magog, he became a devoted disciple. However, Magog eventually saw the evil in his master and heroically helped to destroy it. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #18 (March 2008) REAL NAME: Lance Corporal David Reid OCCUPATION: Adventurer, former Lance Corporal of the U.S. Marine Corps BASE OF OPERATIONS: Unknown (??) SPECIAL ABILITIES: Projects focused energy beams from metallic left arm through staff; flight, enhanced strength and vision Stargirl: BIOGRAPHY Courtney Whitmore was a happy, all-American girl when her mother married Pat Dugan (formerly the hero Stripesy) and abruptly moved the family to Nebraska. Irritated by her new stepfather, Courtney found the Star Spangled Kid’s cosmic converter belt and decided to do some adventuring of her own. Dugan responded in kind by developing a robotic suit and accompanying her as S.T.R.I.P.E. Ultimately, Whitmore thrived in her new identity, becoming a principal member of the new JSA. STATISTICS FIRST APPEARANCE: STARS AND S.T.R.I.P.E. #0 (July 1999) REAL NAME: Courtney Whitmore OCCUPATION: High school student; adventurer BASE OF OPERATIONS: Blue Valley, Nebraska SPECIAL ABILITIES: Cosmic converter belt and cosmic rod make her superstrong, agile, and able to fly and project solar energy blasts. Collect & Connect S.T.R.I.P.E. This line looks great! I am loving Sandman and Lord Naga and C&C S.T.R.I.P.E. looks beyond cool! Very excited for this awesome theme wave! Thanks MTV Geek for sharing this big news with us! |
Oh yay. Once again, four figures I don't want, to get a BaF that I need.
|
Quote:
Oh yeah!!!! |
Wait... noticed none of these have double jointed knees and elbows
|
That STRIPE is begging to be customized into a Horde Trooper! But it's going to end up being to expensive to be used for that. Boo.
And yeah, Shin. I noticed that too. What is going on with that? |

I'll plan on getting the Carter Hall fig (obviously? :)). Stargirl & S.T.R.I.P.E. are maybes for me at best, but that about does it. Hopefully that S.T.R.I.P.E. C&C figure pictured is only a prototype and the paint apps will surpass the quality of this mock-up. I will admit I am the target demographic for Wave 18 so I will be happy with those figs and let other DC fans champion Wave 19 (and be happy for them), though this Wave 19 reeeeeeeeally could have used a Jay Garrick Flash. |

Black Hand and the Manhunters have double jointed knees. Black Lantern Abin Sur has double jointed elbows, and Blue Beetle III was both. He was the very first to get the new enhanced articulation. But so far, no one with special sculpts (Like a business suit, like Sandman), or with big muscular biceps (Like almost everyone else) gets the enhanced joints. |
