Wow matty really needs to step up their quality control.

iLegends73 09-04-2011 05:13 PM

i hit kmart today and saw 2 batgirls. passed on both cause of paint. and one had this really weird leg position, i should have taken a pic. the left leg was turned completely around so the inside of the knee was facing the the outside.

Shin Densetsu 09-04-2011 06:58 PM

Bat girl has no waist swivel. I have the 1st version and snapped the body and half thinking the waist was just stuck. How did you free the ab crunch? Catman and my Public Enemies Batman have stuck ab crunches.

Thanks for the heads-up! Sorry about your Batgirl....

My Catman's ab crunch was severely stuck as well. With both, I simply just held them like I'm about to break them Bane-style and pin my thumbs near the crunch area on opposite sides and firmly rock the joint back and forth with a REALLY hard grip while being somewhat gentle of course. (Well not really "Bane-style" since their capes obviously force you to put the thumb pressure on the FRONT of the figure)

Batgirl's was pretty easy while Catman made me wanna claw my eyes out. His ab crunch still isn't that fully functional - I can't have him bend all the way down since his torso just returns to a certain position on it's own (bending backwards is fine though)

thechris 09-05-2011 12:35 AM

I haven't gotten my Catman in the mail yet, why are the ab crunches stuck on these figures? Aren't they cast in their actual colours? usually, the issue is paint related when it comes to stuck joints.

This is making me very paranoid in buying one of these guys. Not like it matters, I have only seen Mr Freeze.

How did you know what my K-Marts toy section looks like lol. Every time I go there I have to look threw there entire stock because the toys have all been pulled off the pegs and are lying in piles on the lower shelf. My OCD goes crazy and I want to fix it all. I have still found worth while product. I plan on making a trip there today. I did not know the onlt way to get the Batmite was at K-Mart.

I picked up the Joker with my $5 Matty coupon that came with Many faces. I picked out the best paint aps as possible. The fig looks way better in the package. When I took him out of the package you could tell the two different colors of purple plastic they used. He barely holds the mallet and forget about the cards. He does however display nicely with the other DC badies.

Edit: Went to K-Mart and found no Bat man, MU, or GI Joe. Went to Newberry Comics and they had a bunch of the new Bat Man figs which look great as well as the Thundercats Classics figs for 24 I think. I walked away with I love you man & The land of the lost. I am tempted to get some of those Bat Man figs after seeing them.

I have both Catman and Batgirl and neither have any QC issues. And yes, Catman is cast in his original colors so I don't know the ab crunch would be stuck on him. Batgirl has that gloss coating so I could understand that, but luckily mine is fine. And the paint apps on both are perfect. I wouldn't worry too much about being able to find good ones. But it a little weird that so many people are reporting having issues with theirs. Unfortunate.

Wait a minute here...Batgirl is a brunette?! Now I know I need to pass on her for sure.

joemama13 09-05-2011 01:48 PM

Got catman at my local walmart for 3 dollars.

Gotta share how that happened, and why you didn't pick more up for 3 dollars as trade bait lol.

It's more red in person, like a reddish wash over brown.

Possibly, I know mine has a bit more of a red tint to it, highlights if you will. I would say its auburn, not necessarily brunette. Looks that way to me anyways. With the way the QC is with these, who knows. If I get a chance I will snap some pics later and see if the camera picks it up.

Crazy Jetty 09-05-2011 06:06 PM

They were probably trying to go for realistic redhead, which is a shade or orangish brown, over a comicbook redhead, which is usually crimson.
You know, since mammals usually can't produce true reds, greens, or blues (Barring a few primates).

D00MTR0N 09-05-2011 06:07 PM

if only mr.freeze looked like the cardart, bummer.

Your Catman looks a lot more comic accurate than mines (color wise). Don't know if it's just lighting or something though....

Optimus Vader 09-05-2011 07:07 PM

When are the Arkum Legacy figs supposed to be out? 2011?

quipp209 09-05-2011 09:32 PM

Anyone know who is in wave 3?

I may be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am... but I believe there's only two waves slated.

masishadow 09-05-2011 10:39 PM

Well I found 2 catmen in a walmart near me tonight and both of them had what looked like already broken left legs in packaging. Hope my 3 set from BBTS ends up well.

At least that's all that's been announced so far.

It's kind of funny though -- retailers just did their big reset that's to last through Christmas, probably nearly to February, and it's got these BL figures and we're already seeing the second (and last?) wave. Seems like a recipe for having the stuff rot on the shelves.

RexLewis85 09-06-2011 07:20 AM

That's funny because i've seen wave 3, and it includes Dark Knight Batman and Honor Guard Joker as a two pack and Arkham City Robin and Joker in a two pack. I'm SOOO looking forward to this wave. I'll actually try to buy them all. I'm not really interested in waves 1 and 2 with the exception being Mr. Freeze and possibly Golden Age Joker.

that's wave 2 of the 2packs right? 1st wave was two face AA batman, prototype batman & gordon?
