Thanks Raf! My SF collection is based off of characters from the original, Alpha, and SF4 series of games...which were all of my favorites in the series. I was never a fan of SF3:TS, hence why there's no Remy, who was a Third Strike character.

Most of my figures were picked up back in the day when the line first launched. I used to follow the line religiously, and I can recall studying and remembering release dates given in Toyfare and Tomart's Toy Guides at Borders (remember those days?) I used to prefer a lot of the alt costumes to many of the characters, and as a result, picked up the majority of my figures from Gamestop (where I used to work at the time.) Some of the others were grabbed from my LCS at the time when they released. The only character I can think of that I picked up through other means was Dan, who's pink gi variant was a ToyFare exclusive.

These figures have been through a lot with me, and are probably some of the figures I am most sentimental about to this day. I wish SOTA had gotten around to making Dee Jay before they closed their doors, because it knaws at me every time I look at my collection.

A that time I've already amass a collection of Marvel Legends and Transformers, and started trading and buying from people. I actually have two SSF collection, the MISB and opened ones to play.

Honda went for some crazy prices because he was one of the last figures to come out, but man what a great figure he is. I had to resort to picking him up loose without his spare hands and head, but my Honda came with both of the open palm hands which worked out perfectly for him.

K Dubious 08-20-2015 08:22 AM

Such an awesome thread, glad someone re-booted it!

Yeah SFO Guile suffers the same fate as Honda, being the last of the line. I really want that figure, but at $150 I can't pull the trigger. Especially when others in the line are all around $40-$60.

I really want to beef up my Guile display, right now I'm just looking for original Costume, but I'm sure that will grow once I have all of them.

If anyone has the following please let me know.

2005 Jazwares Guile 6"
Sota Guile
Play Arts Guile
SFO Guile
Kid Robot Guile - Green
Minimates Guile

you know...after i got him..and opened it up..and put him in the pose i liked..i was like DAMN...this is a good figure.
The Sota line to me... is up there with some of the the BEST lines i've seen of all time..

I too..saw the loose E. Honda with the "head i didn't prefer' or that came with one open hand one closed..or the yellow (skirt). I was like..you know what..fugg it....i'm just gonna spend the $$ and get it the way i want it.

I collected all original colors..only started in November of 2014.
i have:
- the original 20 (all MIP still because i could display them better on the wall <lack of space>)
- the four revolution figs
- Cannon strike Cammy
- Bloody Ryu vs. Sagat 2 pk
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...pskm2karqf.jpg
- Translucent Bison vs. Ryu 2 pk
- Dan

I LOVE this line and went fuggin nuts ( i actually never saw them before...wondered how the hell i missed this series) and just ebayed the isht out of these...

I had never seen that figure until you just mentioned it..it's actually pretty cool looking...but yeah..that price point...damn..

I have some of the Resaurus figs...they are in storage so i don't even know which ones i actually have...Same goes for some of the SF from GI Joe.

The Play Arts kai figs are what got me back into SF figs..
The only 2 i don't have yet are RYU and Cammy.

snagged these two at a show a few weeks back..

Hey guys for those of you who have E. Honda, does his chest comes off the ball joint easily when you try to pose him. I bought mine way back than and that's how it have always been for me. Anybody else out there has the same problem.

Got The Kid Robot from Roma Collectables on Sunday at a local Con and Sota showed up today from the remote island of ebay. He is quite loose in his feet and hips but other than that he is awesome. First and most likely only Sota, they are awesome but I hope to stick to just Guile in his OG garb.

Is the Sota Guile new or used?

Since you mentioned that Guile there is your first and only SOTA, I just wanted to give you warning when handling him at the legs. I have a lot of SOTA's line, including Guile there, and they were notorious for snapping off at the leg right were the peg meets the thigh swivel. This actually happened to my own Guile right out of the box all them years ago. I was able to glue the leg back on at the expense of losing the thigh swivel, but I eventually ended up having to replace him, which as you probably know now cost a pretty penny. He is an awesome figure though, and was easily one of the best in the SOTA line. COngrats!

K Dubious 09-04-2015 11:11 AM

I was watching an auction for it brand new, but after reading some reviews and testimonials just like yours I went with a loose one. I assumed that a figure trapped in the same pose, in his package for 10 YEARS (that number amazes me) was more likely to have frozen joints than a loose one and I was able to score this one loose complete for $10 less than the packaged one. I am a bit let down with how loose the thigh swivel is and the toe articulation is really an awesome touch, but it makes standing a pretty difficult task.

There are only 2 more must haves on my list of guiles and one is the SFO Guile that is way too expensive, but I landed a Loose one that is missing his knife and comb for about a third of what they typically go for. Then I just need the PAK one, but since it is still pretty common I will wait it out till I find the price I'm looking for $25-$30.

It is from Jazwares 2005. It is really hard to look for since Jazwares went all in for Street Fighter 4 so anything Jazwares SF related pulls up the more recent stuff. I think this line is 6" but I have not seen them to confirm.

how come you haven't put the play arts kai Guile in your collection?? I think that's the first play arts kai figure i bought

K Dubious 09-08-2015 11:41 AM

Simply because they are still in production/readily available. There are a handful of websites that have the PAK brand new at retail price, so once I have a decent coupon or can find it around $30 I will take it. I'm taking some other members advice about starting with the rare/harder to find stuff first and then fill in all the holes.

Trust me I want the PAK version pretty badly, but it is one of the few figures I have held in my hand and put down, not because I didn't want it, just that I didn't have the desire to collect SF at the time. I also think it is one I will run into at a con or something and find someone willing to take a bit less since it has been available for a few years now.

#1 ohhhh...PAK = Play Arts Kai...duh

2. I feel you on that...Some things I collect.."whenever".. I still need PAK Ryu and Cammy to complete the set..but I'll get em..when I get em. But sometimes it seems like imports go UP in price...So I'll grab em when i can..earlier..rather than later..

K Dubious 09-08-2015 01:43 PM

Yeah there are exceptions with everything. I hate that SFO Guile was the last in that line, meaning it was only available in the final shipment. Also a lot of the collectable/expensive Imports have one production run, and once the distributor is out there are no more available. This makes the secondary market price skyrocket and is exactly what we are seeing with the Marvel Figma and Figuarts imports.

exactly....man....the secondary market for DBZ figs....SHEEESH...i might only get 2 or 3 of those a year...i paid like 100.00 (i think) for Broly..smh..

i have to get to my sisters house and dig out all my SF..and see what i had..

K Dubious 09-08-2015 07:55 PM

I am extremely happy I didn't pay the ridiculous price tag I have seen on these and I had no idea how small they are. At first I thought there was a mistake. Then I started messing with it, wow. This thing is awesome. Super strange articulation, but all of it works surprisingly well. Plus the size makes it scale with MU pretty nicely.
