Something that has been discussed before is that there are a handful of likeness rights intrinsic to the '66 license as part of the package deal. The Dynamic Duo and primary 4 rogues are included (Newmar & Kitt are included for Catwoman but not Meriwether IIRC) along with Tut, Egghead, Preminger Freeze, Shame, Bookworm, and Alfred. They still haven't touched those last three, so I'm assuming they're trying to shift the line over to comic-centric before wrapping those ones up.

Thanks for posting that!

It gives me hope that at the very least, we will get Bruce, Dick, and Alfred. And at least if they do Dick, I can get an extra to slap on a Robin body so I have that one, too. I mean, I can't imagine they don't have these in the pipeline when they released the Wayne Manor set.

If we at least get those three, I'll be happy - and of course I wouldn't mind those other ones you listed as well, would be gravy.

It's sad to hear about Commissioner Gordon, though - because I really feel like they need a 4th playset to round things out, and if they did Gordon's office (and I'm sure it would look great, considering how well they did with Wayne Manor) along with Gordon and the Chief, you would pretty much have enough "sets" to make an entire episode.

My big pipe dream was to get a 66 Batgirl, as well as Barbara, and her apartment set/cycle, but I just don't think that is in the cards for obvious reasons. It's a shame, because the license does exist - it's been done in other lines/statues/etc. - and I wonder what her heirs are holding out for.

OMG! Todd is finally making a Batman variant? We never get those! Knights of Steel: featuring Batman... and no females.

August 24th Pre-order

Out of all the stuff revealed at SDCC he should have put Wonder Woman as the first pre-order he knows how excited fans are for that but no.

Really..I don't think so. When ever a company has put out a wonder woman figure I have seen her sit on shelves/pegs till clearance. Including Mcfarlane. Not the pull you may think she is.

Supply and demand.

Oh my god, another original sculpt. Crazy how an indie company can do this while a certain billion dollar company says they can't while lying to your face.

Sssh Hasbro can hear you.

firmpulse 08-11-2023 12:46 PM

I like it so far. Look forward to seeing the full figure. Sword hilt looks awesome.

Harbinger 08-11-2023 02:20 PM

With a new head this will work well on my fantasy shelf.

Thats what I like about most McFarlane's, post WB/DC liscence deal, figures. The customizing possibilities I've seen online are amazing.

Putting aside the significant amount of reuse McFarlane does that you're ignoring.... how the hell is McFarlane an indie company? Sure they're not as big as Hasbro but they're also nowhere near as small as like, Boss Fight Studios.

Raine24 08-12-2023 02:20 PM

It's not an independent company, it's a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions (that little "TMP" stamped on the figures) but I think the "indie" label has been getting assigned to any company that doesn't have a ruling board or the need to appease shareholders, that sort of thing, which McFToys has never had to deal with.

Isn't indie short for independent. Which Mcfarlane is very much independent.

User897 08-12-2023 05:01 PM

Independent my ass. Todd is one of the heavy hitters now. Has been for years. He is making just as much garbage as the other biggies nowadays. That's how he rolls.

The man is independent, but the toy company is a sub-company of a larger organization and isn't technically independent. I think that the important thing for most is that it's ran like an indie company, with a single head honcho calling the shots without concern for investors or share prices, thanks to the same man owning the company it's a subsidiary of.

It's not a normal situation by any means, and tests the boundaries of what people consider to be the definition of independent.

Yup..independent.

According to Amazon, the glow in the dark Mega Swamp Thing ships tomorrow. It'll look great next to the brand new 4K disc set.

McFarlane is totally independent. You may not like some of his products. But that doesn't change the fact he IS independent.

My Amazon order says the ETA is on Wednesday, but I'll be waiting on pins and needles until I get that shipped notification.

EvilMonkeyPope 08-14-2023 05:17 PM

Hawkman looks cool.
Hal Jordan used his ring to make himself a toupee.

No doubt! Hopefully there will be no "allocation problems" or "cancelled" notices. Swamp Thing will be my first McFarlane figure since Batman Beyond. Most of the releases are just not appealing to me these days.

Zigerlion 08-14-2023 08:06 PM

Hawkman's reusing Redeemer's wings. Looks good, but collectors edition? $30?

Ya, i agree. Ill wait for sales. Slapping a collectors edition name on it when the figs are the same shit as the previous figs is bullshit. Looks like mcfartlame is just trying to raise prices by hiding it under a fancy label.

Yep. We gave him too much credit for not figuring out a way to jack prices. We should have known better considering he releases 2 different figures to get masked/unmasked heads.
