Thank you. Really like this forum.
By lurkers, you mean Magik and The Amazon?
Yeah, I'm quite eclectic in my collection. If it looks good, I get it. I sell a lot too. Not enough room.
Thanks for welcome msg.

Yeah, they had one more. It wasn't cheap. Bout 80 £ I think. They had the blank Vision one down to 50£.
I'm happy to check for you on Tuesday. I have zero interest in making money so whatever it sells for, i will sell too. Plus shipping of course.

Harbinger 05-06-2016 03:42 PM

Finished my custom Morph. He comes with all the heads the old toybiz toy did plus a gun for his "evil" head and claws for Wolverine.

Got my civil war figures today!! Thanks BBTS!! LOVE this wave especially Black Panther!! Not sure if I'm keeping Fury yet.. Possibly as a Shield Soldier. Nuke and Red Gaurdian are nice. My friends kids get the Cap and Iron Man.

Although I wish that body had ankle rockers, and hence it needs a redo, nice work!

Turned out fantastic.

When I got my Amazon 4-Pack with MCU Thor, his left shoulder was seized up. I boil and popped his bicep, nice and slowly. I used a jewelers /micro screw driver and pried it out. Then I did the same thing to the shoulder. Just took it nice and slow and made sure the shoulder and the torso was nice and warm/hot. The shoulder came out without issue. At that point it just looked like the BAF shoulders, I then moved the joint around until I could move it without issue, and dunked it in ice water.

After that, I realized I couldn't pop it back in place without boiling again but once I did, and put it back in place, it's been fine since... so, the shoulders should be able to come out with a little work and a miniature screw drier and some heat.

I saw Civil War tonight and I have a few thoughts on the movie's Marvel Legends figures. By the way, the movie was awesome so go see it if you have the chance.

1. Black Panther was really cool so make sure you get either the Marvel Legends or the S.H. Figuarts version of him. Or both:D.
2. The Spiderman figure looks a little off from what we see in the movie but I think it's mostly the proportions of the figure. The only real difference I can see is the emblem on his chest. The one on the figure looks similar to the old Ditko/Romita Sr. spider emblem. The emblem on the movie costume looks like the one we've seen in the comics for the past 30 years. I just wish he'd come with some extra hands.
3. I thought Sam and Bucky were awesome as Steve's best buds and I doubt I'm alone in thinking that. I would expect some competition for their two pack.
4. Unless you're a big War Machine fan or just love the look of Disco Armor Iron Man, I wouldn't waste gas looking for the War Machine two pack. If you want it and see it in the store, then obviously buy it but don't drive all over the state looking for it. Like all of his other MCU appearances, Rhodey just doesn't have a lot of screen time in or out of the suit. The figure does look cool but the reviews for it haven't been great.

As for the battle damage versions of Cap and Iron Man as well as the height of the Giant Man BAF, well save that till after more people have seen the movie.

From London, UK, here. Massive collector since day one of ML.

Just letting you know I got the Kate Bishop, Sam Wilson, Vision pack plus the Namor's from my local comic store in London. Wasn't cheap, but I'm very happy my LCS is getting ML regularly lately. My guess is they get it early in Europe, perhaps from Asia. Not too sure.

Welcome to the club! It's nice to see another UKer here. Distribution must be far better in London than up in Manchester, because I haven't seen new figures in my LCS for months, let alone the Hawkeye/FalCap/Vision set! What a great snag.

As for Namor, just got him in the post today. Brilliant figure, very nice head sculpt and overall presence in a display. The new torso makes all the difference, as I couldn't even tell he shared the arms and legs with the Grim Reaper mold. I recommend people pick him up if you get the chance!

@Von
I'm very jealous that you're already enjoying your Namor! However, I'm also happy that one of my collecting buddies provided me with my first non-promotional glimpse of the Namor fig! Now if I can just convince you to send me one...;)

Thanks guys. I'm with ya squeeze. I'd love to see the strike team outfits redone on the new nick fury body but i highly doubt it would happen unless it was some stupid con exclusive, which would suck. I have one or two more custom strike team suit figs i wanna finish and then i am toying with selling/trading 'em.

Byrnes 05-07-2016 07:53 AM

@TheBlueMarvel, great pics. Love DD pose.

VonPooten 05-07-2016 07:59 AM

@TBM, Oh I'm sure he'll be coming to a store near you! ;) At a remarkable price drop too, since mine set me back $40 including postage. He is a lovely figure, though. When he was revealed, I expected the lack of sculpted scales to detract from the figure, but it actually gives him a pleasant streamlined quality! The sheen of the plastic also adds a nice effect to his suit in different lighting arrangements, and the sculpt of his neck/chest/face really does pop.

http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...d.jpg~original

Now, speaking of arrangements, you'll have to teach me how to balance so perfectly. That's a wondrous display! I can only guess how many times Iron Fist fell over in the making of this? :p Glad to see some Betsy love, four years on and she's still a beautiful figure! Have you added some lighter purple to her hair? My own seems to be quite a few shades darker, but it could be the lighting..

Finally, not only is the balance a wonder, but that Daredevil pose is just fantastic... There's so much motion going on! Twisting the Hand ninja's arm, and the swift crunch as his knee meets bone. Yup. On point! :D

Dr Kain 05-07-2016 08:03 AM

Looks like I will need to start checking mY Walgreen stores for Namor. I surprisingly found DareDevil with ease last year, so hopefully the same will happen with him.

For those interested, here is a review I did on Civil War:

i JUST saw Civil War and HOLLLLYYYYY SHIT....that's all imma say...holy shit....yup...

I saw the Civil War figures today at Hastings. They had 2 cases worth. $24.99 , but all figures were BOGO 50% off, so I picked up Panther and Dirk Anger (aka Nick Fury). Came out to a couple bucks under retail.
Picked up a few other figures while I was there for FCBD.

TheBlueMarvel 05-07-2016 11:06 AM

@Byrnes
Thanks, man. DD's pose was as satisfying in its final execution as I had hoped it would be initially. At the end of the day, I just want to capture something that hasn't been done before.

@Von
Thanks, dude. I've always been pretty good at balancing things. It has always been easy for me to find the center of gravity for cards, dominoes, figures, etc. I also play a pretty mean drunken-JENGA lol

Iron Fist holds that pose with remarkable ease, believe it or not. My Psylocke's hair has the typical purple highlights, so it's likely the lighting. DD and his Hand victim are actually supporting one another. It was more important to me that I convey something that spoke to Daredevil's gritty and brutal combat style. Wrist and shoulder control with a punishing knee seemed appropriate for a hero trained in multiple martial-art disciplines.

Edit: thanks for the extra photo. Namor is the figure I'm most looking forward to for this calendar year. I had to fight the urge to over-pay for him!

Trivial Psychic 05-07-2016 01:35 PM

@Blue Marvel: Amazing series of shots. Seeing Psylocke there makes me really wish that Hasbro would re-release her on an updated body. Or hell...even that body. I don't care. She's long been a favorite X-character of mine (even when she ran around in that wierd pink hoodie and was still British) and she's long been a gap in my collection.

After my last two attempts to make a custom resulted in broken dreams and ruined body molds, I decided to take a step back and work on a simpler project. While I am not a fan of the character, I've long been madly in love with the Kaine Scarlet Spider figure, with the exception of one thing...those hideous, oversized hands. So, I simply took the hands from an extra Scarlet Spider I had lying around, and did a little bit of modification and painting so they would be compatible with Kaine. I'm quite happy how it turned out.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...507_113836.jpg

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...507_113807.jpg

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...507_113745.jpg

You can clearly see the size difference here...which is ridiculous. The newer hands are on the left.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...507_113722.jpg

Been thinking now of doing this to my Future Foundation Spider-man, but whenever I try to do a project involving white paints, it always turns out to be a disaster (like my last two failed projects,) not to mention getting a hold of these hands gets to be expensive after a while. I really wish Hasbro would just sell certain pieces like this separately on HTS.

Don't say that! Be positive. If they do the basic body at least once on single card (which would not be hard for them) then we can do some easy customs to get more than one char. out there. Even better would be a Target boxed set with that costume on Bucky, Spidey and Reaper molds, So we can get Banshee, Cyke, Forge, Morph, Gambit, and other customs done. I'm sure if I swapped enough parts I could even get a passably-scaled Wolverine out of that.

Don't say that! New body or bust!

I do agree that BM's pic series is great though. I just wish he had Wolvie in a more dynamic pose.

Awesome series of shots and good work on the hands. If you want, I can always send you my Toy Biz Psylocke for your Kaine...

Seriously though, I need that Kaine bad. I wish someone had an extra to trade.

Btw, Black Ant has fists that are already a perfect match for Kaine.

TheBlueMarvel 05-07-2016 03:53 PM

@Trivial
Thanks, pal! Great custom by the by...I wish I weren't so lazy and that I had the courage to experiment on my figs. Your small tweek is much needed on that Kaine...It still boggles the mind that that fig is so expensive, given its wonky mitts.

@Dark
Thanks, bruh! Yup, it's still up. Que pasa, amigo?

@Squeeze
Thanks, man. I knew a Wolvie fan would chime in! lol Logan's always doin' stuff! This "scene" catches 'im in the moments following some slashy-action. Don't worry, Byrnes just hooked me up with a first appearance variant Creed from that TB face-off pack (the best Sabretooth fig, in my book). Suffice it to say that I have plans that involve Wolverine...

VonPooten 05-07-2016 04:13 PM

@TBM, Aah, we are two opposing sides in that case, as my sense of balance is next to zero. :p Not only that, but clumsy hands inevitably lead to knocking two thirds of any display upwards of three times..

Daredevil is a tricky one. He's acrobatic, yet brutal. There are a number of ways that he can be posed in, but there are almost too many? I think that's why I'm so impressed with your choice, because it speaks clearly of the character, and it looks damn clean. :thumbs

According to undulations through the net, Namor should hit the States in the first half of May, so the wait is almost over! I'm still waiting patiently for the X-Wave. Must buy two sets...!
