Yellow is worst. This time I started with a base of yellow spray paint. It ran like hell so I had to use regular brush paint to clean it up. Then I used a dull coat spray to finish it. Dull coat makes paint look so much better.

Absolutist thinking is inherently flawed in my experience. It creates stress which leads to emotional angst and potential health issues (both physical and psychological). That said, you are absolutely entitled to feel however you want regardless of the extreme nature. That's your road to travel, not mine.

I get that you believe fervently in the things you espouse. I even find value in some of those beliefs. While I'm not a vegan, I am a sympathetic ear as demonstrated in pm's we've shared and public comments on these threads. However, when you cast my comments (or me) as the foil for your frustrations with the world, you run the risk of turning a sympathetic ear into a deaf one. I'm not suggesting that you care about that, but this sentiment might prove useful as you seek out converts to your cause within your personal life.

SMH...dude, many people buy items on eBay without thoroughly reading the description section. It represents a 'rite of passage' of sorts; a lesson one learns after buying one's first 'lemon' on eBay(or Amazon etc). Many of us on sites like this one are seasoned toy-collectors, but there are also large numbers of fledgling collectors within our ranks. To suggest that you are unaware of this fact seems disingenuous.

But whatever, we'll have to agree to disagree regarding the auction...the validity or veracity of any argument is a largely subjective matter hinging on perspective. As for the 'meat-eater' vs 'vegan' pissing contest, I won't be the 'windmill' to your 'Don Quixote'...and that's not a dig or implication that your thoughts are "invalid," it's a declaration that I ain't your enemy...or maybe I am, in your eyes.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

Yep I just quoted Revenge of the Sith. To clarify I'm not calling squeezplay a Sith. I happen to enjoy eating meat but there are points that cross lines of animal cruelty such as gestation crates for pigs, I think those are still in use in places.

Seamus McSeamus 05-19-2016 03:32 PM

I'll admit that I'm a bit lost as to the connection between buying toys on ebay and the moral implications of veganism.

Not that I'm looking for any elaboration. Quite the opposite, actually.

TheBlueMarvel 05-19-2016 03:43 PM

@En Sabah

lol...I agree with you and (believe it or not) I also agree with most of the points that Squeezeplay has made regarding 'human' treatment of animals/livestock...the departure is more of a sequential one pertaining to the 'foundations of evil.'...but whatevs.

Dude, that Firestar is great! Interesting take on her. Far different from the one I made.

Kirathis 05-19-2016 07:41 PM

Awesome customs Byrnes! I have been thoroughly impressed with the various applications of the Ant-Man suit that I have seen and your Xavier is by far among them. I will also echo the comments on the genius idea of turning the fur into flame effects for Firestar. Great job!

Augustus_Cole 05-20-2016 03:34 AM

@Byrnes

Like everyone stated...yazz..that Firestar is sick (all your customs were nice but she stood out). This is NOT a knock on your custom..just as statement about the underlying figure; Like BM said she did look a little extra sexy, for Firestar. Aside from her tits busting out of her top, that figure was AMAZING. For a brief moment I didn't realize WHAT the original figure was ....again until I saw the Breasteses!! Great paint..

and what is... umm..i forgot what you called it..Dulling paint\Dulling spray.?? is it a per color thing, or like a clear coat of something.

juggernaut209 05-20-2016 07:55 AM

I found the Giant-Man wave in the wild for the first time last night at Walmart. As some others have mentioned, these are still ringing up at $15.83 at Walmart, so that’s the place to go for these figures. I did not think mine would restock because they are still overflowing with the Odin wave and Red Onslaught, but there they were.

Dullcoat can be found in a brush on or a spray can. ;)

Trivial Psychic 05-20-2016 09:44 AM

Just curious, does anyone happen to have an extra Nick Fury/Punisher/Red Skull coat that they don't need or would be willing to sell? I don't need the figure itself, just that plastic trench coat that slides over the figure. Thanks!

She likes to make Spiderman's senses tingle

Here it is. I get it at hobby lobby.

Byrnes 05-20-2016 11:06 AM

More WIPS.

I'm gonna paint the Enchantress head piece and arm bands metallic Green. The Beast is a Frankenstein of Tech and Astonishing. I'm gonna paint him up in the Silver/Black X-Force colors to go with that team display. I used plastic shavings to cover the spots where I cut to give it a hairy look.

Nice dude! I'm still working on my Enchantress too. I like the arm bands that you have added.

Does anyone have an idea for a better head on the Legends Madame Viper\Hydra figure?? or something I could customize. Her face is bothering me...she looks like the Aeon Flux chick..

*edit* ..nevermind.. a google search actually brought me right back to the Ark
http://www.toyark.com/showpost.php?p=402706&postcount=1

now..where to find that Shanna head..

Harbinger 05-20-2016 03:51 PM

You could probably swap the hair on captain carol with vipers hair .then paint her lips green.

A cheap version would be Hope from Terrax series. It will be hard to find a Shanna head. She was a SDCC exclusive.

Hmmm...

TheBlueMarvel 05-20-2016 06:17 PM

@Dark
I purchased a modified head for Viper some years back. It was the same head as Viper/Mystique, but a shorter 'bob' hairstyle replaced her long hair. It was an improvement, but the strong masculine features still remained. I never use the head. I'll send you a pic, maybe you could use the hair...

My daughter is having a blast with the Sentinel we received today. Thanks again LazarusGundam.

She wanted to take pictures so she came up with a battle and I helped her pose them a bit. :cool: The pictures rotated after they were attached but she took them at her art table and was very excited so I told her I'd post them.

The Sentinel was "turned into a good guy to help catch Ultron." In case you're wondering lol.

It's like the Sentinel is looking down at Ultron saying..."You call yourself a BAF? Imposter!" =P

So a few days ago, I posted up an idea that I happened across goofing around with some head swaps and what not, and tonight I finally finished up the side project, my new custom Blade...

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...521_001239.jpg

He wasn't exactly the most difficult figure to make as it didn't require a ton of painting or sculpting, just some touches of silver, a little bit of black and some dry brushing here or there, but I really like how it came out, as the improved Movie Electro body that came with Demolition Man is pretty awesome.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...521_001206.jpg

As for his accessories (since we're always looking for help with weapons since Hasbro doesn't provide a great many of them...)

Blade's MP7: Casting Cave
Sword: slightly modified Sephiroth sword from the 1997 Final Fantasy PVC figurine line.
Silver Whip: Marvel Legends Black Cat,
Glaive (ToyBiz Blade Movie figure)
Glaive 2 (not shown): DC Superheroes Batarang (from Knight Shadow Batman)

Hmmm...

I just sold mine so I don't have any pics but I have placed her head on different bodies before. The hole for the ball joint is shallower on Hope's head than most figures so the head ends up sitting higher on the neck and looks unnatural.
