NOTED...just the type of insight i was looking for before droppin a Benji.. thnx. She just looked like...if done properly...she'd be a mean piece for a dio action setup...you know...

That said, I almost bought two of them. One is a deeper shade of "Carolina-blue"...I'm kinda partial to that color. It's a shame because there are elements of the sculpt that genuinely look good. Something about it reminded me more of Capcom's X-men: Children of the Atom Spiral than the actual comic character. Not sure whether that is a good or bad thing...

"ARRRKSIIIIIIIDE" made me laugh! We roll deep, son.

I'd agree with TBM on the Spiral. Cool character but not a great action figures. Doesn't pose for crap even with all those arms. Helmet looks weird on her also. But I do like her next to my Mojo.

TheBlueMarvel 05-24-2016 07:57 AM

@Dark

Lemme’ tell you ‘bout ‘da Ark, kid…
Expand a little on what my homie, master Dark did…
‘Nuff news and commentary on figs ta’ flip that wig-lid…
Wit’ a cast ‘a ride or die souljas ready for that toy bid…
Hasbro or NECA…be it heroes or mecha…
On the Ark you’ll likely find ya’ pleasure!

…and I will never, ever do that again. :cool:

But yeah, Byrnes is right. The only reasons I can fathom for owning Spiral is if you have Mojo (and Longshot)...or if you really love the character.

warmachine6 05-24-2016 07:58 AM

anyone got banshees er cape/glider thing lying around that they do not want

Dr Kain 05-24-2016 08:00 AM

So I was at Walmart the other night and all they had were like 12 cases worth of the first Cap wave. Not a single sign of the second wave at all, so that wave for some reason has not hit CO yet.

Byrnes 05-24-2016 08:10 AM

I had this Hammerhead head on a Colson body straight up. I wasn't happy with the way it looked, as the head didn't' even sit well on it and it looked just like another body I had so I made a few changes. Cut the ball joint off to lower his head so it looks like he has no neck hardly and painted up the suit to a more comic look. Also put a Gwen Stacy head onto a Marvel Girl body for shits and giggles.

right......that's what Shawn Carter said after every album he released.

**nodding head at** "Hasbro or NECA…be it heroes or mecha…" ;o)

Boy Blunder 05-24-2016 08:50 AM

Man, owning Spiral is one of my pipe dreams, but I'm never gonna spend those eBay prices on her. I'd rather be vigilant and persistent.

It sucks too, because years and years ago, when I wasn't a ML collector yet, I found for my buddy who had been scouring for her - two, in fact. If I had known then what I would be now, I would've bought them both, instead of the one for him.

HINDSIIIIIGHT!

I want to put these next to some of my regular figures, I just wanna make sure the paint won't ruin anything they're next to. Thanks for any feedback.

I don't really bend joints and stuff once I put this on so not sure. So far it's been really great. I think it works as a sealant sort of. I've only been using this for less than a year, not sure how the long term holdup will be. So far it's been great for me.

I saw the Giantman wave at one of the Walmarts(Wads & 98th?) on Friday.

@Dark
Jay's incentives are the millions he makes off of each album...the 'zeroes' I'm making will keep me an 'armchair emcee' for the foreseeable future. lol

@Byrnes

As Dark said, that paint job on Coulson's body is stellar! About Hammerhead, I've seen many people use Triple-H Mattel bodies to create a more imposing form given that he is a much larger than average man. What do you think about that idea?

I don't really know why but I hate using other figures than the line I'm customizing. Doesn't really make sense I guess it's just one of my own quirky things.

I agree 100% on what TBM said. Owning both versions of her (the variant could be sold or traded) I have to say that she is only good if held up to some of the other figures Hasbro did around that time. Compared to the better TB and recent Hasbro figures she's not great. I say wait and see if Hasbro redoes her.

Many people have been using that figure but they take height out of him as Hammerhead is not tall but wide. I was wondering how the bodies of those 2 suited guys from the 2-pack would work if I could give them better hips somehow:

WWE Series 37 Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury Action Figure 2-Pack J & J Security on sale at ToyWiz.com

Some people have also used Gotham figures by Diamond Select. Maybe a combination of parts?

I love this pic! It's playful yet innocent at the same time. Really makes you think about what the SHIELD personnel do on their "off hours" lol. You know there would have to be some kind of hanky panky goin' on!

I can understand that entirely. Using other bodies (DCUC specifically...or Mattel in a more general sense) makes it something other than a 'Legend."

HAahHAhahhA!! You should've added a 'drops the mic' to that! :D I bow to your superior rhymes, "fam!!" lol Awesome!

I agree 100% that Hammerhead is broad/stocky and not statuesque, good point...and those figs might be more appropriate, but if I could have my druthers, I'd want the shoulders to be a bit broader...

Edit: strike that. I looked again and those figs are pretty heavily muscled...but then we get back to what Byrnes was alluding to about different families of figs. Maybe Habro needs to introduce a new 'suited-goon' mold?

I too feel exactly this way. I hate seeing DCUC-style hips on "ML" customs and vice-versa.

Lol. Actually, I really liked your spit. I was just trying to at least rise up to your level. Glad you're a fan. I'm extremely critical of my own artworks and would continuously go back and correct flaws forever if I did not have time constraints. But I wanted to post and then get ready to go out.

Yeah that is why I want to put larger, suited-style but also ML-style hips on them, to get them more in line with ML. But you're absolutely right, Hasbro (and also Mattel) need to do a "goon" style body in a suit. Hasbro's could work, with appropriately longer or shorter parts, for Hammerhead and Tombstone, among others. And we need a suited body that fits Clark, Bruce, Lex, etc. in DC Multiverse.

Anyone else want The Lizard to be released in a future wave? He's basically the last Spidey villain I'd want in a 6in scale. (maybe Mysterio too) I'm not interested in any past releases of him in that scale; though I really like the awesome Selects version... why couldn't he be 6in? :(
