I'm very excited for this new wave. I missed out on all but Deadpool from Toy Biz ML Series 6, so getting a modern release of essentially the same wave is welcome by me. I'm really loving that new Wolverine sculpt.

I am still shocked that I actually want the majority of an X wave. The power effects for Havok are also outstanding! So glad they did not just recolor the Scarlet Witch magic effects but expanded on the same design for Havok's powers.
For some reason that Wolverine just screams McFarlane from his 90s Spider-Man run to me. I know I am going to end up buying that figure just because I will get everyone else and my OCD will require completion of Juggernaut. Still wishing I could sub out Wolverine, Cable and Phoenix for Madrox, Mimic from the Exiles era and Gambit and basically never have to buy another X wave. That is unless they release a Mutant X line. Still probably my favorite X related series. Hrm, speaking of Mimic, interesting BAF idea there. Release base Mimic as a figure of the wave and every other figure comes with pieces you can swap to give Mimic different power appearances such as metal Colossus arms with Wolverine claws, Angel wings, etc. |
For all those wanting Black Panther..hasbrotoyshop RIGHT NOW!!

That Wolverine is sick! I didn't think Hasbro could match or exceed the series 6 Wolverine but they did. With the exception of Iceman, Havok, Shadowcat, and Rogue this wave is essentially Toy Biz's series 6. Hasbro played it safe which I have no problems with. I usually don't do preorders but I will this time.

@Ken
Yeah, those are very old pics. I didn't have much of a clue back then...still don't, really. While I no longer care for these photos, they illustrate my thoughts well enough. The more I look at this new fig, the more irked I become by its vapid/emotionless expression. Wolverine has been illustrated plenty of times with a grim and dispassionate countenance, but I'd prefer something more emotive. In recalling the heads on all of the upcoming X-wave figs, I think they are uniformly neutral. I believe only Bobby and Cable have tooled faces that provide a nod to the personality of the characters. Small gripes in the consideration of most. However, for me, someone who likes photoing these figs, expression makes a world of difference. Edit: again, new Wolvie (X-wave by extension) = awesomesauce...but give me a furrowed brow or curled lip...I'm not asking for much. |
Anyone know , whats the difference bewteen the white , and red hand ninjas are the white ones good or a higher rank ?
|
I believe they were intended to be an attempt at making the "Chaste"...a weak attempt. Stick and company deserved more...
|
So after seeing more pics of the wave just now, im curious has anyone seen how the juggernaut BAF will look ? So far im kinda in for almost the whole wave.

"Speaking of powerful and iconic brown-costumed characters from the pages of the X-Men, fans will without a doubt recognize the Build A Figure in this assortment. Check back in the next few days for the complete reveal of this unstoppable villain!" Not sure they will do size comparisons , but maybe we shall see |

Miles Morales, Electro, Silk and Hobgoblin are must-gets.
Could live without the rest but who am I kidding I'm probably gonna get all of them anyway. |
Personally, this wave doesn't do much for me. The X-men wave is still my top priority.
Just noticed the Silk figure could be a great base for a Netflix Elektra. |
I'll get the Miles Morales and Electro but that's it. I'm good with my Toybiz Hobgoblin. I don't really read the current Marvel stuff so I know little to nothing about Silk and Ashley Barton so I won't bother with them. Don't need a teenage Peter Parker. I don't care for any symbiotes besides Venom (Eddie Brock) and Carnage so the Space Knight is a easy pass.
|
"Spacekight"...sheesh, Marvel. How they let IDW nab the Rom license is beyond me. At least Hasbro has the rights to produce toys on the property. Maybe they will make a Legends scale figure at some point.
|
Miles and Max are definites for me, Silk is a maybe. Still bummed that there doesn't appear to be any Shocker this wave.
I'll have to see how the Venom Spaceknight looks before committing - honestly I like his design. Quote:

aiight ...all you customizers..
my first lil project is ready.. I know I've spoken to a few of you via PM ( and a few tips from this thread) but I'd like any and all input for this. I want to paint the guns black, with touches of silver. I want to paint the head black. I have no idea what i'm doing for the eyes yet. and i want to "glue" the ammo belt to the figure. I havent' purchased ANY materials yet as I'm waiting for more feedback from this post, and the same post I've put elsewhere on the net. didnt someone post a link before for a tutorial?? i can't find it. do the head and guns need to be primed first? what kind of "glue" should i use? http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psybtvinwc.jpg Hope to start this today. |
Gonna nab the spidey figs and ditch morales and probably space salamander venom....shoulda stayed agent venom. Woulda liked to have seen shocker and maybe silver sable instead of morales and space salamander venom. Im super stoked for silk and spider-bitch.

I never really love the Romitas art that much, I like Jr. more than Sr. though. I always liked Sienkewicz quite a bit, and Silvestri's newer stuff is amazing. I think maybe his older stuff was nowhere near as good mainly because they didn't usually have a good inker for him. Quote:
