Squeeze, Dude that was her name in the comic man. Lighten up and have a beer. :) ( oh and no cause i am anti pc...haha. But seriously it was her name she called herself in the comic storyline before she was pulled into the pg comic verse. :) )

my first lil project is ready.. I know I've spoken to a few of you via PM ( and a few tips from this thread) but I'd like any and all input for this.

I want to paint the guns black, with touches of silver. I want to paint the head black. I have no idea what i'm doing for the eyes yet. and i want to "glue" the ammo belt to the figure.
I havent' purchased ANY materials yet as I'm waiting for more feedback from this post, and the same post I've put elsewhere on the net.
didnt someone post a link before for a tutorial?? i can't find it.

do the head and guns need to be primed first?
what kind of "glue" should i use?

Hope to start this today.

First thing is give any of the factory items a good wash in warm water with a mild dish soap and use a toothbrush to get rid of the factory releasing agent.

I have actually painted up that exact pistol. Priming would not hurt. I did not and the flat black base I used did not adhere too well but I also cannot remember if I washed it or not. With most weapons I just flat black base it and once dry give it another flat black coat to even it up. Then add any semi gloss if I want the black shiny. After that just use some silver and a very fine brush to apply any of the silver touches.

As for gluing, I have seen others use a lot of different super glues. I like the brush ones for a lot just for the added control aspect.

Well squeezey i believe the difference is i was using the NAME of a COMIC character that is a work of fiction. Its not like the name was being used in amean or aggressive fashion at a femake character in a COMIC But simply using her given name as created. Now while marvel and hasbro have pged her name for mass market and retail use ( much like kick ass 2 did for mfer's toy) the fact is helena barton's villainous/semi-heroes name IS Spider-Bitch and thus i refer to her as the name many of us know her by ( and quite frankly i love her name cause it fits her. )

It be like if colossus was called giant metal wanged russian dude thats how id refer to him but hes not so i refer to him as colossus. ;) You gotta relax man its a comic character not a real person. Relax and enjoy fiction my man. :)

I'm with you on that. I don't care if it's an in-universe term, can we just call her 'Ashley Barton'? It's not that hard - just an extra syllable. Takes the same amount of time to type, and it's not an ugly thing to see.

As for Wolverine's colors, IIRC it was stated (retconned?) that the brown/tan (technically brown/marigold, but whatever) are the house colors of Clan Yashida. Of course, there's a hole in that, since Logan was wearing the costume before he really got embroiled in the Clan, but either way he did wear the costume during his entire run (or the majority of it) of time involved with the clan. Either way, it's been used as shorthand to clarify that specific costume.

Telling people to do things like 'unpucker' when they bring up a perfectly normal complaint is surely the mark of maturity, I find.

And I gather getting bent outta shape over a COMIC characters name is what you consider rigid mental maturity? Honestly im shocked ya not saying anything about the racially insensative words and such that WERE said in another post? Hmmm hmm hmm? ;)

That's what they called her in the Old man logan comic..i believe if marvel themselves were publishing comics with that same nick-name for her in a mass produced comic book, then it should be allow on a toy forum with adults...

Can we "Please" not start the getting all overly sensitive. This is a sub thread dedicated to everything pertaining legends and their comic book likenesses.

I wouldn't mind a Miles, hobgoblin, electro, Silk, and i guess ashley barton spider girl/woman. i however wish they should have made her how she looked in the Spider-verse storyline.

I'm sure we'll get at least one other spidey wave before the year is over like how it was last year. spider-man and his villians and allies are the big money makers for both marvel and hasbro.

If i recall correctly we had

Spider-man - hobgoblin wave
Spider-man - rhino wave

so if they (hasbro) repeats themselves they'll do another 2 spidey waves again.

I don't see anyone getting bent out of shape, really. I see a few people saying hey, we kind of don't appreciate this word being used, and one guy getting smarmy about it rather than agreeing to disagree.

I mean, obviously not everyone's going to agree on this kind of thing. In my opinion you can choose to be gracious about it or you can choose to be kind of a dick, which you've done (when talking about women, more than once in the brief time I've been here).

Once again if it can be published publicly in a comic book by a multi-million dollar comic book company such as Marvel, why can't he refer to her the same way he and tons of other comic collectors and fans refer to her such that???

I think a few of you people have some sensitivity issues or are just a quite bit too much into that politically correct BS.

I quite frankly thought Squeezycheese's post with expletives examples was far worse then calling a character, that marvel dubbed the same.

Wasn't the Absorbing Man wave the first Spider-Man wave of 2016? I would think the Space Knight wave is the second and last one for 2016. Unless we get a Amazon.com or other store exclusive I don't see anymore Spider-Man figures until 2017 to coincide with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Yah thats probably right. Hopefully they can squeeze silver sable into that wave cause damned shes due for a legends figure.

redfox 05-28-2016 07:46 PM

I kinda hope Ashley Barton comes with a shotgun and Kingpin head as accessories...I would have to pick her up then. Have to.

Pretty sure that is how she looked in Spider-Verse unless I am being overly forgetful today. Maybe a bit different on the hairstyle. It will be interesting to see once we get a full shot of the figure.

Still looking forward to the wave as I for one like the Space Armor version of Venom and am looking forward to the BAF...although I may just have to paint on his Guardians symbols if they do not include them.

there was another female with a brown jacket, unless that was ultimate jessica drew prehaps?

i like space armor Venom, i even been collecting the latest series of his. i don't believe he has the patches any longer on his symbiote.

I personally think this new spidey wave is KINDA weak.... the last few waves have been awesome. im happy for the hobgoblin with extra Demo goblin head, i like the electro, silk looks cool but she currently has short hair now.

I'm sure alot of you will agree with me but we need alot more from the whole spidey family of characters and villians
Spider-ham
still need a black costume spidey - at least im dying for one.
iron spidey
shocker
doc ock
scorpion
green goblin - im sure they can use the same body and what not for a easy repaint of the this upcoming hobgoblin. just need a new head.

the list could go on and on. i know a few of his villians and supporting characters have been already made a few years back but it never hurts to redo them for the people who missed out on them.

Byrnes 05-28-2016 09:33 PM

Oh please let that X Men wave 2 be real. I want a Shatterstar and Polaris so bad.

Second Wave Of X-Men Marvel Legends Coming In 2016?!? - Figures - MarvelousNews.com

A second Wolverine? Hopefully its X-23. With Dazzler and Nico Minoru both coming this year, if this wave is real, that means I'll only be short Medusa and Singularity for an A-Foce lineup. Also excited for Shatterstar,Polaris and Colossus.

SymbiSpidey 05-28-2016 10:51 PM

I have a feeling that that Wolverine will be the tiger stripe costume on the new buck, but at the same time I don't feel like Hasbro would straight up release two figures of the exact same character so close together.
