The sdcc set has gotta have something to do with that lab coat unmasked pym right? Birth of ultron set or something... Maybe not I guess. Wonder when they are gonna reveal what the 4" set is. I kinda want that legends set for hela and dormammu as I can justify those as in scale with my 1/18 stuff.

I want that pym cause the head looks more like captain America and use the Steve rogers head for pym..and the lab coat of course

With no X-Men (alpha flight?? oh god that's why Northstar isn't released...) and no F4, that leaves me hoping the exclusive is a classic Thunderbolts set. I have no reason to expect it will be but I just want it to be.
IF it's true that no X-Men product are coming in the near future what about Rogue and Emma? I swear for real if they cancel Emma I'm walking away from this line. |
If you need custom decals for anything, these guys rock!!! Sent my request in Saturday, Sunday they contacted me about what I wanted and after I approved, got my order today.

Just saw the teasers for the All-New All-Different Marvel Universe and I gotta say, right off the bat I want that new Wolverine as a figure. So many other costumes of that character still need to be made though too.
What I wouldn't give for an Evolutions boxset of all the costumes that led up to it. |

Brown costume, Tiger Stripe, First Appearance, Movie, Astonishing, Dark Wolverine, X-23, how many more versions of "Wolverine" are left? |

As for Logan though, they never did his Payback costume. For the all-new all-different Wolverine, there are approximately 11 other costumes, but most are variations that can be narrowed down to really only 3-5 actual new not counting her already released masked X-Force suit. |

As for Laura, I'd like the costume she wore in the Logan Legacy comic, with the blue and yellow in her hair |
so... Wolverine is a woman, and Hawkeye is a Native American... I think I may just sit this new universe out. someone call me when they do a "the last five years were all a ridiculous nightmare" storyline. Dis-arvel appears to have cranked the diversity switch up to "Jessie Jackson". You notice the only stories you hear in the news regarding Marvel are "thor?...a woman!", "spidey?...looks like a young Obama!", "X-force... all woman!", "New Fal-Cap to replace tired old white guy cap". I guess they need these stunts to boost sales for there mostly lazy, crap writing as of late. but the writers at Marvel need to be careful, by my count they have like one white male left, Tony Stark... and oh yeah he's been "inverted" so the last white man is evil. WOW!

You hung on a lot longer than me, I haven't followed a title completely since "heroes reborn" I tried to take up the Uncanny Avengers, until it split into like 16 other books, and did a new #1 re-launch like every five issues. I read the whole Death of Wolverine series, but I didn't understand like half of it because I didn't know wolverine was without healing factor, but he had heeling serum, why doesn't he just get like a milk jug of that shit and roll on? I don't know it's like all the books as of late spend more time dealing with personal issues, failure, and self destruction, race and sex,and there is no room for a real story.
It's like all of the characters in the MU have given in to there problems instead of overcoming them. It's become too much of a "poor me" read for a dying logan, or a frail withered Cap, a one armed unworthy Thor, or an Iron man who's basically Dr.Doom. It's like the current writing staff at Marvel should be writing soccer mom novels with shirtless cowboys on the cover. I'm oldschool, I want violence without emotional consequence, I want insane crossover events that ultimately don't change a damn bit of continuity, I want villains who are bad, not misunderstood! I want good guys who don't question there moral compass! when spiderman screws up it's good, It makes me the reader identify with him. When he constantly screws up it's bad, I the reared am left thinking "I'd be a much better Spider man than this chump". and I know the Avengers film franchise has made like a gazillion dollars, but don't shape the source material to more resemble the Wheadonverse. This makes stuff like X-men figures impossible! I hope that when Disney realizes that they piss off a lot of fans by blacklisting FF and Xmen. and the BS of just having the Avengers bring on Wolverine and spider man ( two characters that have turned down the Avengers in the past) to salvage there marketability while maintaining the Avengers title. They need to let the comic shape the whole Marvel franchise not alter the comics to fit TV/Movie look and feel of the universe. |
...The problem in the past has been the man turning us against one another. We have been unable to see the truth, because we have fighting for ten square feet of ground, our turf, our little piece of turf. That's crap, brothers! The turf is ours by right, because it's our turn. All we have to do is keep up the general truce. We take over one borough at a time. Secure our territory... secure our turf... because it's all our turf! Can you dig it? Can you dig it? Can you dig it?...

Now I have no idea wtf's going on. As for Wolverine & Spidey being Avengers, I saw the first New Avengers run as just an amalgamation of old groups; take a member or two, add him to the New Avengers - Heroes for Hire gave Luke Cage, Iron Fist, & Jessica Jones, we got Thing from F4, Wolverine from X-Men, Mockingbird, throw in Ms Marvel & Spider-man & you've got yourself a team. |

I think it became clear to me once they announced Secret Wars. All the (IMO) crappy things they've done to the characters over the last 3-5 years were done with the thought that with this (it's not a)reboot that the changes wouldn't matter. Let's kill of Wolverine. Let's make Iron Man evil. Let's make cap old. Let's make Thor now be a woman. Let's bring the O5 X-Men to the future and break the time stream. Let's take Nick Fury out of the picture and make him a watcher. Let's take away the Magneto/Twins story. All of it major changes and done because after SW none of it will matter (to the company.) It does matter to some fans though. It certainly matters to this fan. And I had enough of it and saw a really good jumping off point. I'll still collect the figures (provided Emma is released! :D) but I just don't care about the NuMarvel anymore. And I completely agree about the renumbering thing. I think that many of the classic fans (though certainly not all) may end up feeling the same way. |
Falcon Cap, Female Thor, New Wolverine, these things aren't because of Disney.
Disney has been very hands off when it comes to Marvel to let them do their own thing. The characters themselves and their histories for why are sound, granted some of the writing that has led to it has been hit or miss, but the characters themselves and their transitions have been interesting even if the execution of it has been all over the board. It's nice to see the Marvel Universe genuinely age and evolve instead of being the same frozen in place universe it's always been. I'm genuinely interested in reading the comics now because of these changes. Even want to start picking up cap's title. Falcon as cap makes sense because of their long history as partners, and Odinson losing the hammer is kind of expected when you really think about what Fury may have said to him. Laura as Wolverine to me is far more interesting than Logan, and his stories have been told to the point that really any new stories would have only started rehashing ones already told. Hawkeye is still Clint Barton/Kate Bishop. The native american character is named Red Wolf. One might argue it's been the success of Kate Bishop as Hawkeye who many readers now prefer that's led to these other changes across the board though. |
Wow after reading the last few posts I'm really glad I quit reading Marvel. This stuff sounds pretty bad.
|
Citizen V making a return is pretty sweet too.
So far the changes have been decent. Falcon as cap has been interesting. Wolverine's death is hit or miss but his actual death is pretty much the only way to take him off the board in comparison to other things they've tried. Female Thor has been awesome and when they reveal what was said to Odinson, it might make more guys either toss away comics for good or praise it but it's extremely grounded in his norse mythology. Kinda hope she keeps the Hammer permanently. Miles Morales Spidey has also been fun to read and at least it's not Peter Parker de-aged to 16. And no matter what others may say, had nothing to do with Obama at all. Glover wanting to audition for the role got the gears turning, and Bendis who has adopted children that asked why they couldn't be spider-man rather point blank to him made it a passion project for him. Some of Marvel has been hit or miss, but I urge you to give the new #1s a shot. If they are written well, they may surprise in how marvelous they are. New Captain Marvel has been a pretty phenom read too. So don't be dissuaded by the negative spins from people afraid of change. If it wasn't for this new Marvel approach, we wouldn't have even gotten the absolutely stellar Hawkeye comics we've been getting lately. |

Plus it doesn't help that Thor is my favorite Avenger and one of my overall favorite Marvel characters. |
I still read Marvel comics, but selectively. Moon Knight has been excellent in his newest volume, the one before that was set in LA was "meh" at best. Even though Richard Rider will always be Nova to me, the new volume with Sam turned out to be enjoyable. Uncanny Avengers isn't as good as Remender's previous book (Uncanny X-Force) but it is still great to me. I'm not really that bothered by the whole Magneto/Maximoffs revelation, him being their dad was always a nice story device but it was technically a retcon back when it was revealed too. I'm just happy a writer is actually using Scarlet Witch as a character again and not just a walking WMD.
Guardians of the Galaxy is the one book I stuck with that I truly have to wonder why I did, because I thought it was pretty bad. At least pretty bad when compared to the DnA volume from just a few years ago. The team dynamics weren't as fun, the Mass Effect armor didn't look good, and Venom was basically castrated. At least the 3.75" toys are still carrying on with strength... oh wait. |
