That Storm actually fits into scale for a Marvel Legends collection?

I wouldn't mind getting it but I wouldn't want Storm to tower over the X-men lol

To me it does. She's supposed to be fairly tall after all. For $16 you can have a placeholder FA Storm until we get one. I think that's better than not getting a brand new character at all. But different strokes for different folks. :)

God, I hope not; then I'll be forced to buy it :D

Absolutely irrelevant. I could quote rap lyrics and quote the name of a character in book and talk about how someone else named their character who's gay and it would not be any less offensive. That word is misogynist and speciesist. The fact that other use it does NOT morally justify you using it. The words are offensive because the PEOPLE seeing them RIGHT NOW are offended, not because someone else did or didn't do something at some other time.

Can you give it a break "please" with your PC tirade..... it's gotten quite annoying and distracting the rest of us about the topic at hand.

As far as the new X wave that already scheduled, does it make sense to produce another one when the upcoming one will have one as well?? hmmm hasbro is tricky though

Tirade? The original post has not been deleted. The oppression is ongoing. Why would I give in to oppression? That is the perfect way to ensure that it will never stop.

You've been whining and whining nonstop and attacking a member for no apparent reason other then you don't like him calling a character the name that she was giving FROM MARVEL IN A MARVEL COMIC.....

We're all talking about legends figures, as far as i see your just flaming a member and and being really over sensitive. it needs to stops already.

Id be down for old man logan for sure. I get wolvie is a saturated character but if the sculpt is good ( like the unmasked wovie in the astonishing suit from the jubilee wave ) and figs solid, its like having too much bacon.....no such thing as too much bacon. ;)

Yeah, that is Jessica after she adopted the Black Widow persona. I loved her and was hoping she would be in the new universe or part of the Web Warriors. Sadly I do not believe either occurred.

As for the potential X wave...totally no interest except for maybe Polaris which of course means the BAF will end up being something I really want. Such is my luck.

donmeca2020 05-29-2016 09:22 PM

I know some people think comparing legends to selects is like apples to oranges, however i wonder how this BAF juggernaut compare to the select version? Considering the size of the select version is ideal for juggernaut imo.

I think we've had this discussion before but the big figs are almost always superior from Select. For only $25 instead of buying an entire wave their Thanos for example puts the Hasbro BAF to shame and he comes with both the Infinity Gauntlet and Death. The select Juggernaut is a massive figure for the 7" scale but yeah he still works great with 6" figures considering it's the Juggernaut and you just know it looks better than the Hasbro one will.

It's just surprising that there's been nothing for the rest.

I think it has do with "strict categories" that Marvel is making Hasbro use when releasing figures. (Ms. Marvel = Inhuman, She-Thor = Asgardian, X-23verine = X-men, Sam Alexander = Guardians, etc.)

Remember when Angela was announced as the winner of the poll, they mentioned having trouble determining which category she fit in, Asgardian or Guardians of the Galaxy. There is also the upcoming Onslaught head being packaged in the X-men wave due to his being an X-men character.

lordbest 05-29-2016 11:43 PM

I hope we don't have to wait for an Inhumans film associated wave to get Ms Marvel, what with it being pulled from the release schedule.

I'm with you on that. I don't care if it's an in-universe term, can we just call her 'Ashley Barton'? It's not that hard - just an extra syllable. Takes the same amount of time to type, and it's not an ugly thing to see.

As for Wolverine's colors, IIRC it was stated (retconned?) that the brown/tan (technically brown/marigold, but whatever) are the house colors of Clan Yashida. Of course, there's a hole in that, since Logan was wearing the costume before he really got embroiled in the Clan, but either way he did wear the costume during his entire run (or the majority of it) of time involved with the clan. Either way, it's been used as shorthand to clarify that specific costume.

I missed this before, but thanks for the info on the costume. And the backup.

Augustus_Cole 05-30-2016 04:53 AM

Do any you think if it were say, me talking about a character from a novel who was called "Lizard-**nt" and a female forum member asked me to please not use that word on the forums, I would try to defend oppressing her, or gracefully agree to use a more egalitarian term? Likewise, let me ask the same question for the character "Jim" in Twain's Sawyer and Finn tomes? What if Blue Marvel or DarkToyLord asked me not to call him ****er Jim? Or maybe if any of you are not "straight" and I was quoting Guns 'n' Roses when they sang "Immigrants and ****ots, they make no sense to me."

Oppression or injustice is oppression or injustice. The right response is to learn and understand that you did something wrong, and refuse to do it anymore if you can help it. It's what I've done every single time in my life. The one WRONG thing to do is try to defend it.

And I'll point out that if the people involved would have just deleted the comment and gone on about the rest of their lives, we wouldn't be talking about it even now.

I could choose to be offended by the use of quotation around the word straight here as it could come across as being a self applied but not true identity. Those who are straight are straight, not "straight," not, "not straight". Those who are LGBT are LGBT, not "LGBT" like it's some kind of true/but not really true identity. But I'm not offended, I'm just pointing out how easy it is to set up ways in our writing and language that can be taken as offense.

As someone who is part of the LGBT community, I would be offended if someone uses such words as F****t to identity us as part of their own way of thinking. But if they are doing it as quoting something that used those terms I see it as being a reference to something beyond their own opinions. That is what the GNR lyrics are (Dire Straights too for that matter which I've sung karaoke with before). That is how Ashley Barton empowers herself in the book (granted Millar is putting that label on her, but it does come across as a self-empowerment tool). THe fact this is part of a creation of work is immutable and does not necessarily reflect the actual opinions of those who use it. Sometimes a reference is just a reference.

MANNN...DAS BLACK!!...lol
i have those books and never read em....I guess now would be a good time.
Side Note: did anyone ever read the spider-verse stuff and is it worth reading??

SIDE-side note: ( i was gonna post this in the comics section but damn it doesn't seem like anyone posts there.)
Does any in here collect/have been collecting comics digitally? Meaning the kind you need a comic reader program to view.

These latest comments, Squeezeplay, have crossed the same lines that your earlier posting of a bigoted epithet did...regardless of the intent behind them. Your insistence on driving home pedantic points is becoming problematic (I've seen you do this three times now). I have stayed away from the thread for the majority of the weekend trying to decide whether or not draw the mods' attention to your initial offensive post (at least you had the good sense to edit yourself this time around), only to be rewarded by your efforts to use my ethnicity (me by extension) to illustrate your perspective. I get the impression that you were purposefully attempting to draw people into your argument...not cool. I try to avoid salacious and offensive language when I post on these (or any other) threads, so I understand the points you are attempting to make. Speak your piece and be done with it...and keep my name out of your mouth (off your keyboard, in this case) unless we are having a discussion...or if it relates to toys.

...thanks.

i've already drawn the mods attention about squeezeycheese's remarks and his endless tirade of attacking members on here. hopefully we can ban him. apparently he feels the need to troll, flame and attack numerous memebers now. as far as i see no one else is going on and on other then him. i see a member being banned coming up shortly.
