Got most of the newest Infinite Wave yesterday……..

-Vulture: I wish the slots for his wings where either on his forearms (like Falcon/Darkhawk) or a back back……..instead, the wings attach just under the shoulder
-Shanna: decent female figure, I hope that Ka Zar and Zabu are released soon
- Dock Ock: the best Doc Ock in a while, happy it's Classic Doc Ock and not Dying Doc Ock
-Thunderstrike: Decent "tall buck", I wonder if they'll reuse the buck for the Eric Masterson Thor
-Ultimate Spider Man: I note that they used a super articulated Spider buck and not the Big Time buck

My guess is there is not one.

So there is a local toy show happening thie weekend and these were my pick ups. Honestly though folks they have almost everything so if there is something you are looking for 3.75-wise let me know as I am going back tomorrow. Really good prices on most of it but some stuff was a bit higher than I would have expected, for instance AIM Soldiers and Skrull Soldiers were all over $25?

That Showdown Hulk was only $5 so I was happy to score that

I think that Ant-Man with white arms still needs explanation, do we normally see the exclusives on Chinabay this early?

It might be NYCC, or a later on store exclusive like someone else mentioned the X-Factor boxset was.

There's Waldo! Err, I mean Macy!

That ultimate spidey figure I might have to pick up to replace mine. I know they are the same figure and accessories, but if the paint apps are an improvement like others mentioned(actually having his back painted this time!) I might need to get him again after all. Plus mine's stiff in the shoulder area and I'm afraid of it breaking anyway.

I believe last year we got Nebula & Starfox this early, but I don't know. Maybe Ant Man isn't even part of an SDCC exclusive, and just a figure for later on this year.

That's a good point. Maybe it's part of a wave that's yet to be announced. That'd be sweet if it was!
Not sure though, at least at K-Mart, Ant-man himself was pretty overstocked and overabundant. At least when I finally found mine he was. The entire peg was only him. At least 10+ of him. Which kinda rocked for me because I picked out the best paint apps one out of the bunch.

Zend 06-06-2015 05:44 PM

Lol, when Ant-Man first came out people at the convention I went to wanted $40 for them because they were "impossible to find". I ordered him on HTS for $8 last then a month later.

I need to get another one though, I lost my mini Ant-Man. He was sitting on the shoulder of my Legends Hawkeye and disappeared when I accidentally knocked him over.

Hasbro has done some joint SDCC exclusives with Toys R US. There is a Joe set this year and a there was a Star Wars one a few years back so maybe this is a joint SDCC/TRU set?

Try K-Mart. I went there a little bit ago to see if they got new ones in or put them on clearance, and they still had 4 more ant-man figures. So if any in your area are like mine, you might find a ton.

Ninjinister 06-06-2015 08:25 PM

I still haven't seen Ant-Man or any of that wave at retail. I actually just saw the Guardians wave at a Target for the first time last month!

And it's been a while but last time I was at K-Mart the only comic 3.75s they had were the same 8 Multiverse Batmen and a Bane.

Nah, my K-Mart is garbo and doesn't have him. It's right down the street from my work so I occasionally stop there when I'm walking to work, or if i'm bored i'll dick around in there on my lunch break. I was in there two weeks ago, all they had was the new wave. I almost bought Bishop and Black Cat, but decided to wait.

You don't need to buy a whole New Ant Man, there are guys on eBay who sell the Ant Man, Fly, & Wasps separately, but it may work out cheaper just to get a new Hank.

Day 2 pick ups.

Pretty crazy, but before I got there today a person came in and spent over $500 on MU and bought almost every rare and hard to find figure he had.

I still made out pretty well, it was cool to find accessories for cheap.

These two head sculpts will soon be new and improved Blade and a custom Matt Murdock.

Anyone else find it odd that North Star keeps having his release pushed back? Other figures have found release, but he's been carded twice now, and then removed from waves. First time as a variant, and the second time as a full scheduled wave mate, but then removed.

I find it curious because he has actual public exposure too due to his semi-recent wedding X-Men issue. Unlike Daken, his character is known among the mass media and their readerships.

He really isn't a well known character at all. Daken is more widely known as "Wolverine's son with two claws" than random Alpha Flight member #7.

I do wonder if Hasbro is not releasing him because they feel it would be unwise to release a gay character. Maybe the exposure of his wedding actually heightened the level of awareness and that backfired in what is still perceived to be a children's toyline. I am all for more female figures being made, but there's really a few pairings that it's silly to have one but not the other - Aurora/Northstar is one of them, much the same if they had released Dagger but not Cloak.

I also wonder if this has anything to do with them locking down on X-Men related characters though, but if that's the case why did they release Aurora, Bishop, Beast....I mean really though what is the exact deal that he's been delayed 2 times now? There can't seem to be anything with the actual figure that would be that difficult to make is there?

Yeah, but Daken didn't have mainstream media headline exposure. The only press Daken has had is literally "wolverine's son." Even that, the casual consumer is mostly unaware of it. I'm not saying North Star is as well known as say Spider-man or Iron Man, but it is indeed odd that the one character who had a widely known wedding comic, is the one figure that keeps being ousted from being released. Even considering the first time was because that was during the line transition to new packaging, the second time he was ousted from release has no logical defense.

It's annoying to me, because out of Alpha Flight we have 3, technically 4 members released(if you count snow bird!) and we should be closer to a complete team minus Sasquatch, Vindicator, and Shaman.

Cyclops too, and Emma Frost coming up. Also, unlike Bishop who is a completely original mold with new tooling, North Star is a mold that's been previously completed on a very common buck, and is packaged and ready to go. It's also only stateside he hasn't been released where his wedding issue had the most headlines and also may have the biggest outcry from the bigoted 'mom' groups. I wonder if Hasbro is stalling for that to die down first still, or if they're going to keep pushing his release back.

For that matter, the only character released with any kind of sexual identity outside of straight before their figure release have been Daken and Mystique. Both are more commonly considered to be villains.

(On the other hand though, Hasbro did release Arcee over in generations, and that character has been written as a transgender cybertronian twice over in the comics, granted her appearance is more in line to her G1 toon self that public knowledge and exposure is that she's female in.)

K Dubious 06-08-2015 10:52 AM

So after seeing SOOO MANY MARVEL UNIVERSE figures this weekend, I realized that threre really isn't anything I am looking for.... though I was able to score one of my final few pieces, the Green Mandarin.

Now I am just looking for the following:

TIGERSHARK
ANTI-VENOM
YELLOW GIANT MAN

I even went through tubs of loose and carded figures with really great prices and didn't find anthing that I couldn't live without.

I spoke to the person running one booth for about an hour and both of our conclusions were that Hasbro is trying to kill the line. He said he felt this was due to the cheaper plastic and major price increase. I agreed and said it is wierd that they have pumped out so many Legends this year with more accessories and swappable parts, yet we get less of everything (except price).

I hope we do get an exclusive this year, but if we don't I wonder if there will still be the huge 3.75" diorama?

Yeah I kind of agree it seems like they may be trying to kill the line and focus on the smaller and larger figures. Granted they have the Gamora and Captain Marvel for 2016 but what else is even remotely promised (the MIA figures not withstanding). No word on an SDCC exclusive. I'm wonder if they they're going to just do a wave or two next year and let that be it, or even just release those two female figures in an exclusive (3?) pack. o_O

I'm planning on gettng one of those 5 poa hulks for the head. is there a hulk body out there that looks good with more articulation and no painting necessary to match it?

Grey and Green both. The MU Wave 24 Hulk, and subsequent Grey Hulk have perfect bodies, about a head taller than most MU and the 5POA heads should fit.
