Does anyone know a good Joe body I could use for a Ripley with the Avatar Grace head? Sort of a woman in a vest type.

Now I am just looking for the following:

TIGERSHARK
ANTI-VENOM
YELLOW GIANT MAN

I even went through tubs of loose and carded figures with really great prices and didn't find anthing that I couldn't live without.

I spoke to the person running one booth for about an hour and both of our conclusions were that Hasbro is trying to kill the line. He said he felt this was due to the cheaper plastic and major price increase. I agreed and said it is wierd that they have pumped out so many Legends this year with more accessories and swappable parts, yet we get less of everything (except price).

I hope we do get an exclusive this year, but if we don't I wonder if there will still be the huge 3.75" diorama?

Did anyone have any GB Frost Giants for good prices? Just out of curiosity

The Avengers Assemble Hulk that someone showed off fighting that KO Hulbuster a couple weeks ago is great if you can over look the chunky forearms. Believe they did a head swap on it as well.

The Black and grey one is practically perfect. The Grace head with black painted hair on that, with some of those 1:18th Aliens, and it's done.

So rather than looking in the stores around here and not finding anything I'm going to go ahead and order Ant-Man off of Amazon to guarantee I can get one. Can't wait for July 1st when it ships.

Also going to grab a few extra goodies I've been keeping an eye on. Just need to decide on what to add.

Wait WTF???

Simon Furman was the writer both times.

Over under Marvel, she was written as a male bot but had a female looking form for ease of ambassador relations to humans.

Over in IDW, Furman wrote her as a male bot that was experimented on by Jhiaxus and forcefully turned into a fembot against her will.

Dreamwave and G1 toon she was a fembot with none of those story devices.

I was thinking I'd do the bald, Christ symbolism, Alien3 version, or that embryonic, sexual nonsense from Alien Resurrection 8I

Wow, really....? The Marvel one sorta makes sense because technically none of them have genders to begin with and the perception that they do comes from their voices and body chassis, but the IDW one is weird. Don't understand why she couldn't have just stayed a she from the start like she was supposed to be.

Crisperion Fett 06-08-2015 04:05 PM

New wave up at HTS!!!

Yes that includes SHANNA!!! Go get her!!

Marvel Toys | Action Figures, Vehicles, & Masks | Hasbro Toy Shop

Also Scarlet Witch AOU All Stars figure was in stock, so if you need her...

No actually I have only seen those a couple times in all my hunting. I passed on it loose for $40 once and packaged for $50 once. I know these sell for a decent amount nowadays, but $50 still seems like a bit much.

Also I heard that the frost giant was not at all an original MU figure. One person (who had the $50 Loose one) said it was originally scuplted to be a Frost Giant for The Legendary Comic Books Heroes Line (Conan) that was canceled before its release.

I remembered the legendary heroes line getting cancelled and always thought (erroneously) that led to the Frost Giant we got. After some googling, here's an article with pics: Marvel Universe Frost Giant addendum | OAFE – Blog

I agree with you, the asking price on the frost Giants just seems a bit much so I'll probably never get one. I'll just settle for my GOT white walker and movie frost Giants, maybe I'll snag an icer like someone on here suggested.

kylactus 06-08-2015 06:19 PM

crap in a hat! when did the frost giant go all "Vision" on us? I thought that was like a 25-30$ set. I'd believe that the frost giant was intended for another line, he's the only one of the GB sets that isn't a refashioned "ML Icons" buck. giant man is just a repainted Cyclopes, and goliath might have a new head. but the articulation design, and parts are all completely different from MUI series. I'd have a hard time believing Hasbro would invest in all new parts for one exclusive figure, in a line that lasted two waves with a total of four figures and one variant.

I have to agree. I was perfectly happy thinking that there were just male and female Cybertronians. Not Cybertronians that were forced to undergo some weird sciencey sex-change.

Urgh, stupid shipping prices... Anybody have a code to save some money?...

samsson37 06-08-2015 06:34 PM

I waited until I found the big guy for $30 so just be patient. I have to admit once I got it..its a fantastic figure ! Also anybody got one of the lightning attachments that goes to electro or storm they ate willing to sell ?

kylactus 06-08-2015 06:36 PM

what's the big deal with a robot getting a sex change anyway? its a robot! a sex change would be like changing exhaust styles! if you have your robo man parts removed just order a new one from NAPA, bolt it on an roll. I mean whats the point of having genders on a robot world where (the best I can tell) reproduction is done through assembling another robot, and I guess exposing it to the all spark?. that's not sexy at all! it's not like they get into car accidents until someone gets pregnant right?

Incorrect. It's an Icons Thor. New torso overlay, new head, feet, and accessories.

It's about gender identity and is a bit more complicated than that. Jhiaxus altered her spark at a fundamental level so there isn't a way to change back.

As for the rest of the IDW verse, they are exploring more aspects than simple 'robots are genderless automatons.' But this is a conversation for another topic because it dives into too many factors that aren't Marvel related.

kylactus 06-08-2015 07:07 PM

but I am right on robo reproduction..... right?

For Marvel's comic run yes as well as potentially G1(depends which episode, the show wasn't really heavy on maintaining continuity).

For Bayverse, Animated, IDW, Beast wars, etc etc etc. No. Alien sentient robotic life forms. Not hardware that's built. Living metal protoforms that also include a life spark. That's why it's more complicated to explain. It's not quite the same as Terminator, I, Robot, or The Matrix, or similarly human created sentient/semi-sentient automatons.

In Marvel standards, it'd be like taking the already male vision who has had children with Scarlet Witch, and rebuilding him into a female version or taking Jocasta or Danger and rebuilding them as male. Even that isn't quite the same either though, but it's the closest analogy available based on current Marvel characters. The Phalanx might be a better comparison, but I have no idea what their gender concepts are to begin with and they get more complicated because of their asexual reproduction.

rea1180 06-08-2015 07:52 PM

Finally picked up Black Cat and Deathlok. Deathlok's legs came off coming out of the package and now one of the legs keeping falling back off. Is this common with this figure?
