I guess I'm not alone in thinking that there might not be a MI exclusive.....

So the past few years USA Today has been the source for the Hasbro Exclusives (Same with the Dr. Strange set this year) and I looked at the times that theses were typically revealed. Last year the 3.75 stuff was revealed in early May. This year we are less than a month away and hearing crickets.

I kind of think we are being left in the dust on this one. We can read between the lines and see that Hasbro's focus is most definetley on Legends now.

I also find it pretty funny that most of the "New" legends they are getting are 3.75 figures and bucks scaled up. So my question is what is stopping them from doing the opposite and simply scaling down some of the 6'ers that we are still missing.

I keep hoping it is reveled that we will get a Lab Coat Pym and Egghead comic 2 pack (Like someone else suggested). I would be ok with that, though it would be a major step back from Taco Truck and Infinity Gauntlet.

The scaling up and down thing, is it really an easy process for them I wonder? They don't really have to retool much? I don't know I guess I've never given it much thought. I would be totally happy with them just doing scale downs of some of the legends figures, into this line, there's enough out there for years of waves....

Still no SDCC exclusive for the 3.75 line...kind of hoping there isn't :p

Lol, you've got a point...everybody here is waiting anxiously for one but once they announce it, most people are going to say something like...I pass, I only need one figure out of the set so it's not for me. Lmao, keep telling yourself that Arkers...you know you want it so bad.

Sometimes it's easier to pass than others. Last year I really did want Nebula but I just could not bring myself to shell out money for a Starfox figure.

My feelings about the Marvel SDCC Exclusives are best told in song:

I wanna be the very best,
Like no one ever was.
To catch them is my real test,
To train them is my cause.

I will travel across the land,
Searching far and wide.
Each Pokemon(SDCC Exclusive) to understand
The power that's inside

GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!!!

Had some time today so i figured I would take a crack at Bmorr's fantastic warehouse idea. I put in the loading door, it pops out so you can go in and out. Still have to "glass" the windows, paint it and figure out how I'm doing the rails...Hope I'm doing ya proud Bmorr

I know. I was advocating something in between - a 9 POA figure (5 POA plus knees and elbows) - to add more articulation, but still keep costs down. It was just a thought. Not a big deal. I really like the Scarlett Witch and some of the 5 POA AoU figures and 9 POA would have been just a little bit better.

Not happening.

Wasn't the Taco Truck a super late reveal? I seem to recall fandom had written off a 3.75 SDCC exclusive that year as well. I could be mis - remembering though.

kylactus 06-12-2015 02:49 PM

I think we'll see something like the TRU/SDCC x-factor set where it's revealed at the show, but then becomes more widely available later. I think this is just an example of how this line is being so poorly managed. I hope some other company gets the Marvel rights soon (at least for the 3.75" stuff). I knew when the rebrand came it was going to be a down hill slope, now we got folks begging for 9 POA figures!?! is this the 90's? NO you cant give people awesome, reel it back to crap and still expect us to keep buying it! I just bought another Beast to open, and all I can say is bitter disappointment! the lack of torso articulation, the stubby arms, the one possession head, and no wrists! on one of the most agile characters in the Marvel Universe. It's a shame he wasn't made three years ago. But It's all good, the shelves and pegs of every store I went to today was literally choked with the 20+ $ ML figures (all the way back to the Cap2 and Ultimate Goblin waves) and I'm not talking peg warmers every figure in every wave of the last two years. so for anyone who speculates that Hasbro makes more per unit on ML and that's why there focus is on the 6", remember if it don't sell they make nothing, the only MI figures I saw today were two beasts, a few Caps, a couple Hyperions and Iron mans, and one Wonder Man. That's literally like 12 figures in all, at seven store. I quit counting Legends after one Target, and one Walmart, but 20-25 per store sounds about right. I know it's not nice to wish ill on people, but I hope the head douche in charge of MI at Hasbro gets shit canned with extreme prejudice, and ends up on Brazil re-tooling old Secret Wars figures for the latten market.

Hey, I wouldn't mind ending up in Brazil...I'll be alone, dancing, you know it baby...as you walk on by...

kylactus 06-12-2015 03:14 PM

I'd love to live in Brazil, I wouldn't want to work at the Gulliver toy factory in Brazil. (but if you ever end up there grab some of the old Secret wars knock offs for me)

good start man! to hold the back together i just used t-pins like these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/T-Pins-Size-28/19757784 that way the whole thing can be dissembled.

salsa4datass 06-12-2015 03:52 PM

lmao I want to go to Brazil but only for the women. No toys would pop into my mind there. And Raf you are so on point with everyone asking about an exclusive and then saying they'll pass for whatever reason...
Kylactus: you are also on point with the way things have been going BUT so many people keep buying that crap that I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon. That crappy Scarlet Witch sold out on their site and they restocked it. Sadly, even I own that Scarlett garbage...

Depending on the set, that may not be a bad idea at all. One of the most common complaints to the 3.75'' exclusives is that it contains characters fans want in a more retail expansive environment. So if it was a con exclusive with some massively demanded figures, people would complain about that. Now instead, you're complaining about the possibility of a mass released one. It's no win for Hasbro with fan complaints.

This year though, unless it's more than the Ant-Man we saw leaked with a repacked ultron, it does seem like a set that would be more suited to sold at a con.

Looking at what's available, if they do go this route I could see it being Ultron, Hank Pym, Wasp, and not sure what the other two figures would be. Hopefully more villains. But somehow I almost expect it to be 3 different ultrons. Which I'd be fine with if they all used different bodies instead of recoloring the same body 3 times. Though maybe they could include Scarlet Witch and classic colors Quicksilver.

Lab coat Ant-man is more a direct market thing than a mass retail market thing. A better mass retail exclusive would be a Young Avengers set, or ANAD Marvel, or even Avengers Academy. Heck, even a comic SHIELD pack would be bad ass. Like Coulson, Deathlok, Melinda May, Quake, and whoever.

A funny one would be an avengers boxset that had Widow, Hawkeye, Cap, Ironman, and Scarlet witch all in AoU costumes.

An A-Force one would be pretty awesome too though. I want an America Chavez and Kate Bishop figure realllllllllllly bad. Not sure why they didn't consider possibly doing a secret wars one either.

I still say calm down some though. Give Hasbro some breathing room to prep.

Autobot_Goldbug 06-12-2015 03:59 PM

Did they announce the Infinity Gauntlet last year? I don't remember.

They announced it at the same time their other exclusives were announced.

alright screw it, lets all liquidate our assets (except our collections), buy a small island off the coast of Brazil, and start our own toy factory/ bar/ brothel/ funky 80's dance studio (for RAF). We can spend the rest of our days drunk on a beach, Jamming the pretenders, being served rum by beautiful senioritis, and playing with our toys! and at night we'll load cigarette boats with our bootleg toys and smuggle to the US like drugs. I see absolutely no holes in this plan...
