We're moving to a new complex for a 3 bedroom apartment since we couldn't qualify for a high enough mortgage loan to afford a house (we were only given $392,000, and to get a place that isn't a shack in the middle of a bad neighborhood we needed another $100K, and that is even for just a townhome).

We've outgrown the place we've been at for 10 years now since my wife works from home these last few years. Thus, we just had to make a choice and found the cheapest 3 bedroom apartment that would be available around the time our current lease ends.


We locked it in at the rate of $2750 a month, which is actually a good thing too becasue three bedrooms are now starting at $3300.

Holy shit! Thats insane man. At least ya got a good deal for ya area i guess but damn i could never pay that much in rent. I hope all utilities, internet and cable tv is included.

To put another perspective on it, one of our friends lives in a single bedroom that is 700 square feet in a Section 8 housing area and pays $1250 a month for rent. He doesn't even get a garage or washer and dryer in his place like we do.

When I was at Target today they were opening up a new case of Joes. I waited intently hoping it was the wave with Spirit and Storm Shadow. Instead, it was another case of the movie figures.

Well that was fun. Hasbro sent a notification for the blue ninja 2-pack and Kamakura 20 minutes after they put them up for Pulse Premium. The 2-pack was already sold out and Kamakura sold out while I was checking out.

Y'know, I've spent the last 6 months or so being annoyed AF at all of the price raging and "pre-order collection" rants over on the 'tank; I'd wake up, pour a cup of coffee, and sign in to start my day only to be greeted with 60 posts, all of them negative. It got really old really quick. That sort of thing can really put a negative spin on one's day. I'd generally point out that constant whining does no good, inflation is real, vote with your wallets, blah, blah, blah.

Well, today is my "vote with my wallet" day. $34 Kamakura is some bullshit. I had both sets pre-ordered and immediately canceled. There are figures I'd accept that price point for- in fact, most ARAH-era joes would fall into that category... but no thanks.

I must admit that I was quite surprised at the pricetag for Kamakura. At first I expected that he must be packaged with a larger than average assortment of accessories but that does not appear to be the case. I still pre-ordered one but I must agree that the price is rather steep and I mildly regret the purchase. If $34 becomes the norm then I will most likely be bowing out of this line.

Agreed. I felt the same way about the recent ML Iron Spidey being inexplicably $9-10 higher than other standard releases. There's nothing extra about it.

Not sure I understand how a single figure is $34 yet for $10 more you get a pack with two figures? I mean I get that one of the figures in the pack is a Red Ninja just painted Blue, but still.

Not only does that added $10 buy two figures, but each comes with extra heads and a ton of accessories. It's bewildering.

How much of Kamakura is a new mold/sculpt? The male blue ninja is a repaint of the red and the female uses the Akiko movie figure body. I have begun to wonder if part of why they are issuing so many repaints is due to a cost associated with new molds. That thought makes me wonder whether we will see even more repaint and reuse to keep costs down with new molds requiring ever higher premiums.

I passed. First off, I have no idea who the blue ninjas are, but since I had no interest in red ninjas and I do know who they are, I'm not going to suddenly care about the blue ones.

Secondly, while I enjoyed Kamakura in the comics, the only memory I truly have of him is when General Hawk yells, "Who let the green power ranger in here?"

As such, these were easy passes, especially at a $35 price tag for Kamakura. He just doesn't come with enough incentives to warrant that price. Even his packaging is awful. If they're going to go this windowless packaging, how about putting images of the toy from the photos they have taken on the box???? Sell people the toy through images on the box.

The announcement of Tunnel Rat is cool because that now means Hawk and Wild Bill are the only Joes left on my must have list. Never expected that so quickly.

Again, using Marvel Legends as a precedent, we've seen repainted and reused molds out the wazoo for a while – most of it handled quite well, honestly. Over the years we've also seen ample net-new figures dropped into the release schedule that were not given a premium markup simply because they were 100% new molds at their release. I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just saying that if "all new" suddenly equals "premium" then Hasbro might want to rethink their business model.

The main draw of Classified to me is I can get the must have characters that I missed out on during the 25th/POC/30th/etc run... mostly the club figures like Dial-Tone and Footloose... those two guys I consider must haves.

That's actually one of the reasons I dropped ME in favor of Classified, Tunnel Rat and Major Bludd being the specific characters. Neither were really done any justice during that era.

Like who was on the list as a whole? Mostly the main players from the Marvel Comic run with a few others.

Yup, that was discussed on Hisstank and are show on the promo photos. Good on Hasbro for making the set easier to swallow.
