That has to do with retailers not wanting to carry an old line. They want the new now, even though most passed on FE. Go figure.
Retailers aren't exactly the brightest bunch, but Hasbro will still try to find a way to get those out to market somehow if they reached the blistercard stage already.

MU, and Marvel movie lines are still going strong with retailers. The fact hasbro was still showing new comic packs to retailers at toy fair, new wave figures, etc all supports that.

No worries of anything being canceled this year yet for marvel figures. Plus if you looked at TFW, you might also notice that some figures were just slotted into Prime packaging like cyberverse Evac.

But yeah, it's not that "hasbro" cancels any given line or wave on whims to piss off fans and deny us our figures, it's that retailer support just isn't there for them to get it out, so they have to break that news to the fans directly. It's middleman syndrome, with the retailers being the middleman that have the power between the customers/fans and hasbro, while hasbro gets all the blame.

(Not aimed at you specifically Exodus, you just had the most recent quote about it. Ditto to the whole Rouge Rogue thing which I hope Synapse reads before he makes that mistake again elsewhere and gets the same mockery because of it, and others read so they don't make the similiar mistake and get similiar reactions.)

I wouldn't be as pissed at the 8 million fucking ironmen that are clogging the pegs if they came with alternate heads and shit.

Scythe 02-14-2012 02:48 AM

My head almost exploded, can't wait for MU Blackbolt.

Ask Lord Marvel because he actually did this, but not sure how he did it. Pics of it are in this thread somewhere ;)
Thanks!

What's worse, they teased you with Secret Wars Doom on the card! That's rubbing your nose in it.
That would have been worth it, to have him in that armor!
The whole Secret Wars line was a letdown / sham - no Molecule Man? No Doc Ock? No Titania and Volcana (origins within the series). No Captain Marvel? Let's face it; we only got She Hulk / Kang / Rogue / Professor X in upcoming lines - even though they were all in Secret Wars.

Damn... I really want Molecule Man and Titania...

You mean women aren't really like that?! Please tell me they all have long-limbed athletic bodies with tiny waists and massive gravity-defying breasts, topped off with really short jackets with the collars turned up, headbands, and bouffant hair with more hairspray than all the members of Poison put together?!!

Comics have been lying to me...

Appreciation for great arkers like MeGrimlock for working out a great deal. I got my Union Jack in. Thanks again.

Mastersteef 02-14-2012 09:23 AM

As I've seen from other 'Arkers on here, I took the MU single pack Ultron and swapped his head onto a IM2 Air Assault Hammer Drone. :)

Simple swap, much cooler looking figure:

Nice! I did that swap myself- swap the hands too for more of a dramatic "kill humanity" look.

Hmmmm...y'know, were I to do some crossover thing, Ultron woud make an amazing Yellow Lantern! maybe even a Red Lantern!

Well, so do I but consider some of the production issues with those-
Accurate Molecule Man and Volcana would be unique molds with no reuse ability- and frankly, I was shocked beyond belief they had the balls to run a line of figs based on a twenty five year old miniseries with ZERO appeal to non- collectors of a certain age range.
Hell, that line is why I started getting MU- having the SW characters has been a dream of mine since I was a small kid, when I bought those issues off the rack at Waldenboooks as they came out!
After all, I have the original SW figs, loose but mint- from waaay back then!

I mean in this new line...we got 80's Wasp, Absorbing Man and classic Doom in one pack! The Wrecking Crew!
Enchantress! They went with an Enchantress- an obscure female fig! A Spider Woman not on the Avengers! 80's Storm with mohawk!
Nightcrawler, a unique fig unto himself.

We'll get Molecule Man eventually, Titiana will get made now that there's a female body big enough for her and Volcana...well, maybe we can custom one up somehow.

Overall, I'd say the Secret wars line was a crazy hit for us collectors, though it left us wanting more!

trebleshot 02-14-2012 10:46 AM

What I will appreciate is the time when I'm finally done updating the MU checklist after NYTF.

Yeah, Deadpool is about the only good thing Liefeld ever did for Marvel. But I still give full credit to Joe Kelly for giving him the characterization that we know and love. And I am very appreciative that Marvel owns the character outright.

It's really worth it!
That Iron Man is a unique variant (new head/antenna) to that set- anyone making a Hall of Armors needs that one! And the Wasp and Ant man figs with that set are unique too (those are the Toybiz versions in the pic though).
'Tard Hulk is unique to that set too!

I actually considered getting a second set and glueing them all onto a wooden pedastal into an action scene, spraying it with Fleckstone dranite spray paint and making the statue outside the Avengers' mansion!
The ultimate set-piece for a diorama or a great bookshelf conversation piece!

Absolutely- the character Lifield created is no more the current version than Wolverine is his first appearance.

They're both from the Marvel Legends Goliath figure. He's pricey on ebay like $40-80 mib, but such a sweet toy.

Nexodusrex 02-14-2012 12:05 PM

you know, with the return of ML(much to my chagrin), Theres one thing I want them to do and thats rerelease the Toybiz Dragonman, because Toybiz Dragonman would be PERFECT for MU in scale.

http://www.designdevil.com/Images/Dragon-Man-Figure.jpg

or heck, dont rerelease him in ML. Rerelease him in a 3pack with Franklin and Valeria, and make a Future Foundation Variant.

shortysben 02-14-2012 12:13 PM

That dragonman is solid! Isn't it pretty expensive though?

shortysben 02-14-2012 12:13 PM

^^^on ebay I mean
