[QUOTE=Iceman;245981]Oh man, do want.
http://www.toyark.com/members/fallen...cable-1690.jpg

pretty sweet huh? ill be putting him on ebay on sunday, i want to display him for a few more days on my shelf lol.

Jason Abbadon 02-16-2012 10:52 PM

A hideous 90's costume, but an excellent custom- bravo on the great paint on this!

He kinda looks like a Hydra goon with that big "H" suspenders thing he's got going...

lol yeah he does haha, its like the most common one you see around if you dont read any of the comics, im suprised hasbro dint make him like that, im glad they did the hope saga one.

SoundWave88 02-16-2012 10:57 PM

Lol, male pepperoni nipples. And that is not a remark on the custom, which is bad ass, just laughing off of J Abbodon.

Jason Abbadon 02-16-2012 11:10 PM

Cable ditched that outfit after everyone snickered at the sound his thigh pouches rubbed when he walked.

What could he have in there anyway?!? Never, not ONCE did any of those 90's bozos ever pull anything out of those pouches on their outfits!
With the women I could kinda see them keepine feminine products or whatever handy and the guys maybe carry a wallet or something...maybe some safety scissors to cut those skin tight outfits off at the end of the day...some talcum powder to prevent chafing.
Maybe some hair gel- lootta big hair in the 90's.

DogFashionDisco 02-16-2012 11:11 PM

So did Rogue kill Ms. Marvel?

SoundWave88 02-16-2012 11:19 PM

They were pouches for clips for all those big ass guns they had. Maybe for Cable, being a merc and all, may have had food bars, first aid kit, futuristic gizmo to get him out of spots. X-Force used bombs at times.

Can't speak for others. But, military and hunting gear is like that.

fallen69lee04 02-16-2012 11:23 PM

they carried something for sure lol,

Jason Abbadon 02-16-2012 11:35 PM

Braces for their impossibly skinny Rob Lifield ankles.
Some linament for the dozens on extra muscles he'd put on everyone too.

Hunting gear is practical- not movement restrictive...still no less idiotic than buckaneer boots on heroes and villians alike! What's that noise about?

Just watch the waist joint! I was doing taht trick and the phone rang...ended up with a body for customs with the abs on the back! LOL!
Whatever, I'm useing him for Talon- that dude's an alien so it's not noticable under the metallic paint.

You picked a great toy(s) to return with- those figs are really nice!

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try this out.

Boba Fettuccini 02-17-2012 12:03 AM

jason and i agree here... there's a good reason i despise 90s x-men figures and say silent prayers of thanks when they release figures with modern costumes.

Peteparker 02-17-2012 12:34 AM

Okay 'gents.

I got Avengers and Legends intending to return them to TRU for the ones I bought originally. Anyone want these at TRU prices, or should I just return them?

To TRU's credit, Target is selling the Avengers at only $1 less per figure.

http://s2.i1.picplzthumbs.com/upload...0c5e6_wmeg.jpg

Legends is the Variant case, clear shield, blue IM, orange GR.

Jason Abbadon 02-17-2012 12:41 AM

If only Loki's helmet was removable...and he had articulation.
And he whispered evil thoughts to you while you slept.
And the Cosmic Cube banished scalpers.....

Nice looking Ultimate Thor there though.

I thought that was the 80s?

By the way, I remember the heavy interest in a Nimrod figure being made, and I'm not feeling it. I've been watching the X-Men cartoons again and it is too damn plain looking.

Jason Abbadon 02-17-2012 12:58 AM

CHeck Jim Lee's X-Men- Rogue's hair...
Maybe it was mouse?
Something happened to take her straight damn hair of the prior ten years and make it into that rosebush thing.
Really- look at Rogue as drawn by Paul Smith and JrJr- slender build, straight hair kinda spiked at the front- shoulder length at longest for practical reasons.
Suddenly Silvestri gets on the title in the late 80's and everyone gets a new hair-related mutant power...
Which snowballls into the 90's horror show of poofy hair thick enough to stop a bullet and the occasional anatomical horrorshow of Lifield's hair on Cable and Wolverine.
Cable looked like he had a white curly fry on top of his head and Logan...just..

I mean, damn- his hair was as big as his oversized mask-ears! he could have glided away on it, possibly parasailing behind the Blackbird.

And then there's the oddity of the headband-based hairline (which Rogue rocked for the 90's decade). Sure it was a fashion statement lost since Olivia Newton John was relevant, but no one ever accused comics creators with being in touch with current events- just look at all those awful 70's costumes that were still being made in the mid-80's.
I'm looking at you John Byrne- open shirts and high collars never really happened outside cheesy 70's movies anyway, pal,

Boba Fettuccini 02-17-2012 01:34 AM

perms, blowdryers and hairspray. no need for gel or mousse.

Jason Abbadon 02-17-2012 02:58 AM

That stuff wont last at 200 mph as Rogue flies or in one of Storm's hurricaines....and the idea of wolverine having a perm is scary and funny as hell at the same time.

Thiugh there was a time (late 80's) Tony Stark got a perm...he was dating this hot hair stylist, so it's kinda understandable for me.
I once let a seriously hot stylist shave my head (normally I do it myself anyway) and...well...beauty does not equal skill.
Not for poor Tony either- a mullett thing.

Speaking of weird Hair what is up with Starfire? she has like this weird hair trail whenever she flys off.

Speaking of Headbands my favorite was the Punisher though for that I blame Rambo and not Miss John

Jason Abbadon 02-17-2012 04:33 AM

STarfire suffers from "George Perez Perm"- he's still drawing ladies with 80's hair- which I guess was hot when he first did it in the 80's but you read his Avengers stuff where he made Scarlett Witch into a gypsy hooker and it's...hell, it's bad.

John Byrne is another guy that serioously needs to buy a Cosmopolitan to see what the hell women look like this century- but then, any of his men or women can be swapped with any other by changing the hair and outfit- Jean Grey and Sue Storm must have been identical cousins or something.
That's not (just) bashing- I looove Byrne's FF and X-Men runs- but in spite of this weirdness...and his Star Brand was the best thing in the whole New Universe line.

Really, I like his work a lot overall.

Yes and no. Best to read up on it yourself, rather than get into it here:

My MU haul of the day! Got all these from a dude on TFW who gave me some GREAT prices. Been looking for Loki/SFG ever since last summer.

--note, the titanium tron and mage knight Chaos Mage in the background, as well as the dust, were not a part of the package :D --

Nice haul! That SFG is sorely missed in my collection. :)

Thank you! I've never really heard anything good about him, but really wanted Loki. I was fairly surprised by all the detail on his armor, fur shoulders, helm, etc, etc. Just a great figure. His chest and left foot are a little floppy, but otherwise everything else is good. He doesn't suffer from the Giant Man syndrome of his hips being too tight to move or they break either.
