Old Man Hank I do not much care for, I'd rather have Ant Man & the Wasp. Then again, I haven't seen the film yet so I'll reserve final judgment for then.

Little more complicated than that. There were a lot of issues Marvel was dancing around with Janet and Hank in particular. Most notably the domestic abuse issues in the comics. The movie looks decent though, and Scott Lang introduced this fast provides other possibilities later. Now instead they have larger areas of exploration and possibly even the "Wasp" tech after the movie thanks to the Yellow Jacket suit.

This is the first I've heard of this. It also doesn't seem logical.

It's partially true. The part about Whedon wanting to use the characters might be, but it may not have been because of Wright. The MCU is a lot of moving parts and plotting ahead of time to keep it coherent. Granted it's fluid planning that can shift as needed, but they are universe building and trying to balance general audience and comic audience while building this world.

Plus there's a question of how much towards Ultimates it would have gone if they kept those two, and they needed to go more original anyway to avoid those comparisons.

Doing it this way provides more open story avenues for later.

Personally I think Scott's the best Ant-Man so having him as the main character in an Ant-Man movie is a-ok with me. Having him played by Paul Rudd is just icing on the cake.

Just the fact that there is an Ant-Man movie and that it looks really good is something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime so I'm ecstatic.

Well I can certainly see the heads of the MCU saying no, but it didn't seem like something Wright would have control over.

Hi guys -- been lurking here awhile, only been collecting for a few months, but decided to take the plunge and share my collection, recognizing that waiting until I'm "done" will be a long wait.

Universe 07-05-2015 05:51 PM

Awesome collection for only being a few months into it; I really like the display and the custom mr. Fantastic

deathofthelines 07-05-2015 06:00 PM

Nice set up! Is that a razor head holder winter soldiers using as a gun rack?? I like seeing what others do for their setups.

It is, good eye. I have a box of random scraps like pill bottles, headphone wires, old power cords, takeout containers, etc.

Thanks -- his arm is from an old macbook power cord that no longer worked. Snipped off a piece, pulled out the wiring, slid in a piece of stem wire (the kind used in floral arrangements). His hand fits in one end perfect, and I used some caulk to secure the other end to his arm.

salsa4datass 07-05-2015 06:12 PM

captwill: like the set up but where are all the bad guys? :)

So, couple of answers:

1. There are plenty of bad guys -- Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Scott Summers ... :)

2. My original setup was all the good guys vs. Thanos and some ChinaBay Terminators as his generic robot cannon fodder. I eventually want to expand his forces with a xenomorph, a Boba Fett, etc. But there aren't a lot of MU bad guys who make sense as working with Thanos.

3. It seems like a lot of villains are above average in price, and I don't *like* that many bad guys that I find it worth it. I'd rather get characters I like. Still, I just ordered a Doom last week, and I think I'll probably get a Zemo and Kang eventually.

Which would you suggest??

That makes sense you'd go cosmic/alien with Thanos, except Fett is a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away so wouldn't be of much use. I watched AVPR yesterday so I'm in the business for a few 1:18th Xenomorphs and Predators.

Just a word of advice this version does not have knee articulation.

Avalanche is from the animated toyline that came with the toad in the pic. Blob is from the two pack from the movie XMO Wolverine line. The Magneto is from the MU Secret wars comic pack.

Same here, this means i've grabbed some bargains since i've been collecting since February, i picked up the winter soldier and falcon from the movie line last week £4.99 each from TRU, these IMO are decent figures the detail is great and they may not have super articulation like some of the other MU but still 7 points and they are solid figures actually better than some of the more expensive MU figures i've bought with legs that pop off. Also bought the movie versions of lizard, electro and super articulated spidey (which is a great figure). on another not picked up a bargain MOC luke cage yesterday from the bay someone beat me by 50p on Havok and Juggs :(

But Thanos has the space and time infinity stones ...

Personally I use that Spidey as my main Spider-Man anyway, and as the base for my Vision custom; it is amazing

Winter Soldier Falcon makes for a great Ultimate Marvel Sam Wilson. So that helps bolster the Ultimates line up too. So far we've gotten Ultimate Iron Man, Ultimate Cap, Ultimate Thor, Ultimate Hawkeye, Ultimate Nick Fury, and Ultimate Sam Wilson.
