I have made way too many 3.75 customs and it took me 5 or 6 figures before I realized a simple black line on top of the pupil will make every figure look that much more official.

Then again if you were going for that look, don't change a thing!

Haha yeah, I have since fixed that, but it was definitely not what I was going for (I hate painting eyes).

BTW, the cocaine joke made me lol at work haha.

Enchantress is an exclusive?? Rant cuss rant cuss rant cuss!! I only want three of the six figures! I'm going to my corner to pout now!!

UpDog 06-22-2016 11:44 AM

While this set is cool, I kinda wished the SDCC set was something a bit more niche/things we had no chance of getting outside of a con. As it stands Spidey, Enchantress, Abomination and Sandman all probably could've come through in a spider-man/thor wave in the next year.

Cool....his head is still big..but it works...and yeah..lol. at those eyes..
Now that I see this though...I don't want my Cage in "tights" . I have some Apoxy Sculpt....but too bad I don't know how to sculpt jeans, that would be perfect.

K Dubious 06-22-2016 12:02 PM

I know this is kinda opposite what you are saying DarkToyLord, but IMO Jeans are all about the Paint. I get what you are saying about the tights, but some things can look perfect with just paint. Look at the 3.75 Luke Cage for what I am talking about. Those legs have been Jeans, Khakis, and slacks all straight from Hasbro the only thing that makes them not seem like tights is the open legs at the bottom, which could be sculptable <- New Word, lol

Kirathis 06-22-2016 12:23 PM

If that is the set, easy pass for me. Kind of glad actually.

Boy Blunder 06-22-2016 01:25 PM

Here he is, in all his glory.

IMPERIOUS REX!

I'll post some out-of-box photos when I get home.

Lucky bastard :lol

Captain Nash 06-22-2016 01:48 PM

He's so shiny LOL. I wonder now though, how easy it would be to customize a Northstar from a Namor. They both have the same haughty annoyed look. But not sure which body would be used.

I was thinking that too, especially since Northstar's been depicted with somewhat elf-like ears on occasion. As for the body, my first thought would be the standard 'muscle' body (like Giant Man, Batroc, Blizzard, etc), but the more slender build (Speed Demon) might fit Jean-Paul better?

warmachine6 06-22-2016 01:59 PM

so i wonder what the captain America wave 3 BAF is as seeing abomination is part of the SDCC exclusive

Speed Demon will work perfectly I think. Northstar's muscular but not brawny muscular. Although I think Blizzard might be okay too, and that is half my favorite color to begin customs on - white lol. I think I will go with that, IF I can find one now and find not one but two Namors.

Thanks for the idea!

And to add because I have to say it....Namor looks like a stripper in that outfit....

I keep seeing Blizzards at Walgreens as well as a Walmart or two, if that helps.

And he might, but when you're trying to rule the entire ocean, you gotta cut loose however you can. :D

SCORE! Now if they just show up by me. I just want two.

VonPooten 06-22-2016 02:59 PM

Nice find, Blunder! I find it odd that UK online stores had him in stock two months ago, but he's only just finding his way to US retail. He's a fantastic figure, nonetheless.

Kieron Gillen once pointed out that Namor had the lowest cut top in his Extinction Team roster. Even Emma thinks he looks questionable!

Harbinger 06-22-2016 03:52 PM

Haha poot. :)

Kirathis 06-22-2016 05:03 PM

Just stopped by a local Walgreens. No Namor but damn if they did not have 6 yellow DD, 3 Black Ant and two Agent Venom still on the shelf....

Trivial Psychic 06-22-2016 05:16 PM

Just thought I'd break up the SDCC discussion with random acts of douchbaggery involving Marvel Legends...(and a DC Multiverse figure.)

It's apparent that my local Walmart has a serial BAF thief...as it's now got so bad, that they put out an entire box of reduced price figures missing their respective BAF parts...with the boxes in various disarray, showing signs of being ripped open, and even gutted open with a knife, with about 12 figures pillaged altogether.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...622_162326.jpg

There was also a piece missing from one of the new Ghostbusters figures as well stowed away in another aisle.

I swear...what is it about BAF pieces that bring out the worst in people? This is getting to the point where I wanna enact some vigilante style justice at my local Walmart of all places.

Zounds! That is awful. kind of sad too that this Walmart has simply accepted it as part and parcel of their retail practice. I believe their security is not supposed to actually accost anyone caught stealing (for their own and their customers safety) and I may be wrong on that, but that was the case at one time, but I wish something could be done. It shouldn't have to be this way. Many of us have bought figures we didn't want for BAF parts...how are the those doing this sort of thing better or worse (depending on your point of view) than us. Sorry, I'm in a soapboxy mood. Better step off before it's too late.

I went to Walmart today and found a Spiderwoman figure with Wasp head....I kid you not. BAF Part was missing...another Walmart on the other side of town, had the Spiderwoman completely missing and instead had the older toybiz spiderwoman...with no baf. Some people are just scumbags.

What drives me bananas about it lately is that in my area...these figures are getting harder and harder to come by the new waves, as many of my local stores went heavy with certain waves (like that Hobgoblin wave) and are having trouble getting rid of their older stock, causing the new stuff to either not be ordered, or to sit and languish in a warehouse.

If I was hunting, this A-hole would be killing my afternoons as well. Outside of scalpers at swap meets, I have only seen Mockingbird 1 or 2 times on the shelf, and the Giant Man wave figures only at this store thus far (which btw...has no Black Panthers or Nick Furys, as they have already been cherry-picked.) To top off that matter, the remaining figures in the wave, Guardian, Nuke, Cap and Iron Man, have all been picked of their BAF parts and are sitting in that box I took the photo of, causing me to think that the BAF parts were more than likely stolen by the same person who cherry picked the two most popular figures in the wave.

This is the reason I just get the figures by the case now, and sell off the less desirable, and pretty much have given up on the hunt.

Just got a call from the manager in charge of the toys department at our local Walgreens (she stays in touch with local collectors who aren't jerks), and they just started getting the Namors in stock. I'll probably be picking mine up later today, so just letting you all know that they're in the wild!

I'm still willing to middle-man for some people, but I'd like to give it a week for them to start popping up at multiple stores before I do.

No, that was a comment about how the Spidey in this set could be re-released as an anchor figure for a future Spider-Man wave.

yea, but dude everything comes out in california first.... im sure it'll be abit til they start coming out around on the east coast.
