Amazon has updated the cover images of the first two Transformers: Robots In Disguise Chapter Books for young readers.

We now have our first look at the new (and unfortunately named) Decepticon, Scuzzard.

We do not know whether this character is exclusive for the book or whether he/she will appear on the show. However, a similar silhouette was revealed on the Japanese Intro.

Michael Bay Join Forces With Alpha Animation

Director Michael Bay's 451 Media Group joined hands with China's Alpha Animation and Culture Corporation to develop and distribute Hollywood's big brands.

Alpha Animation is also the distributor of Hasbro products in countries such as China, Singapore and Malaysia. Other co-owners of 451 Media Group, John and Anthony Gentile played big roles in our childhood by creating brands such as Micronauts and Visionaries. During the past conference calls, Hasbro expressed their interest in creating a Live Action Movie for Micronauts and it seems as though that plan is being carried out.

With the news of Transformers Franchise expanding to a Cinematic Universe, we can speculate that this new development may play a very vital part in that as well.

"The strategic partnership would allow 451 to develop content like feature films, apps and physical toys based on original intellectual property and disseminate them in unison, said an individual familiar with the deal." says The Wrap.

"This a very well executed partnership within the emerging Chinese entertainment and toy industry, bringing together the strength of both companies in the areas of original IP development for global audiences, product design, animation development and mobile and online channel creation," said Solon So, President of Alpha Pictures.

You can read more info at Deadline, Variety and The Wrap.

Platinum Reissue Generation 1 Blaster and Perceptor Autobot Intel Ops Revealed

Via beerfish of ACToys we have our first look at another new Generation 1 reissue set. The Autobot Intel Ops set packages reissues of Perceptor and Blaster along with Blaster's cassettes Ramhorn, Steeljaw, and Eject.

All five toys are in their classic, Generation 1 decos, unlike the more eclectically painted reissues of Astrotrain and Blitzwing who are also in the pipeline. What is interesting is that there are what look like slides in the packaging which just might be used with Perceptor's microscope mode, which fits in with earlier reports that there might be something "special" in the set involving the microscope.

Transformers Adventure Clear EZ Collection Optimus Prime Prize Campaign

Takara-Tomy have updated their website with details of a new Transformers Adventure Prize Campaign. A clear version of the Robots in Disguise Legends Optimus Prime is set to be offered through Toys R Us Japan at the end of April, when the customer spends more than 3,000 yen on Transformers Adventure merchandise.

It's a cool follow on to the trio of Legends who were released last month as a promotion to launch the Transformers Adventure line in Japan, and with another four molds (at least), we anticipate that Takara-Tomy may well continue onward with clear versions of RiD Legend class figures for their prize campaigns for the TF Adventure toyline.

TFW's Combiner Wars Air Raid In-Hand Gallery

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

Our next Transformers gallery is here, wrapping up Generations Combiner Wars Wave 2. The fourth member of the assortment is the lone Autobot, Air Raid - who also rounds out the quintet of Aerialbots and by extension the last limb of the mighty Superion!

Air Raid is a nicely done toy. He's a swing-wing fighter, which gives the robot and arm modes a different feel to the other three Aerialbots, and thanks to the positioning of the sockets on the underside of the wings, there are a few different options for posing - likewise, there's sockets on the arm to allow him to arm-mount his gun, and it does make a fine armcannon. The poseability is the same as the other Aerialbots, which means it is excellent, and there is a lot of nice detailing.

All in all, Air Raid is a great way to cap off the updated Aerialbot team. I had a lot of fun photographing him for this gallery, and hopefully, you will enjoy looking at the photos as much as I did taking them. Check them out below:

News from our site sponsors! We've just been sent over a clear image of Takara Tomy's version of Combiner Wars Menasor. Just as the case with Alpha Brave and Slingshot, this Stunticon set will include a Wildrider in lieu of an Offroad figure. As far as paint jobs go, the changes appear to be minimal at the moment with black paint on Motormaster and a grey paint job on Wildrider being the most noticeable.

Will you be importing this five figure set to add to your Combiner War roster? Sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Preorders for this set are going live now, please visit our sponsors below to lock them in!

Here's a bit of a blast from the more-recent past! While we did get good many of the "GDO" Generations figures as Toys 'R' Us exclusives, one figure that didn't make it to retail release was GDO Generations Brawn. You may remember that this Brawn is a redeco/retool of the First Edition Transformers Prime Bulkhead and was recently used for the Transformers Cloud Brawn as well.

TFW2005.COM member megatron1138 works for an eBay store called The Toy Vault, and they just got in a sealed production sample of this figure! megatron1138 stopped by our Transformers on eBay forum and shared the auction with us here. We've mirrored the auction photos here for your viewing, and you can jump to the auction as well.

Possible Market 6 Transformers Legends Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper and Skywarp

Japanese retailer Red Mercury has posted up listings for a quartet of new Legends class Transformers. The listings are for Legends class versions of Skywarp, Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper and Grimlock. We're expecting these to be like the previous Market 6 exclusive Legends assortments, in other words, recolors of existing Legends.

It's possible that the Grimlock mentioned might be the existing Legends Grimlock (from Beast Hunters Rippersnapper) carried over for this new assortment. The other three are likely to be a red version of the Universe Legends Bumblebee for Cliffjumper, a white version of Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime for Magnus, and a black version of the Starscream from the same line for Skywarp.

That means tomorrow, 4 April 2015, at 6:30 AM EST, fans in the US will be able to enjoy the third episode of this new Transformers show!

Mastermind Creations has shared a design sketch for their upcoming Carnifex aka Overlord figure. First teased way back in September of 2013, it appears Mastermind has things in motion for this release. This is the third teaser for this project Mastermind has shown over the last few days. The first was a colored image of their version of the head of the figure and the second was a design of the figures base mode. The design shows a heavy influence from the characters appearance in the IDW comic series - The Last Stand of the Wreckers. A second head with an evil smiling face and poked out eye appears to be in the works this figure.

Botcon 2015 exclusive Generations Chopshop Recolor

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

Botcon have shared an image via Twitter of another of the 2015 show exclusives. What they've got on show here is a blue recolor of the Generations Legends Chopshop - who was initially released as a Targetmaster style partner to the Legends scale Megatron, but as promos have demonstrated, the two are not gang-molded so this Chopshop could be tagging along with anyone.

Moving into the realm of speculation, the silver body with blue limbs deco seems to recall the Autobot Topspin - and given how "Autobot colors on a Decepticon mold" is usually a hallmark of the Shattered Glass continuity, and this year's set seems to be based around Axiom Nexus, the "place where continuities collide", this may well be a Shattered Glass version of Chopshop. It's also possible, based on the reuse of Packrat in this year's set, that this is meant to be a homage to a past Botcon exclusive, Vicegrip.

Botcon 2015 takes place in St Charles, Illinois, over the weekend of June 19th - 21st. Watch this space for more news about this year's convention!
