Also Eel gets alternate hands but not Electro? WTF Hasbro

Veronica Mars 06-24-2016 05:07 PM

Since I'm not likely to be able to get the SDCC set, I'm cool with him as a BAF, I'm just not sure what to do with Secret Wars Cap

I agree about the Electro hands

Starlord67 06-24-2016 05:31 PM

Wonderman, Captain Britain and Eel look great... I'm excited about Scarlet Witch. Cap, Skull and Abomination are sell offs.

Dr Kain 06-24-2016 05:35 PM

I don't get the point of having Abomination a BAF here and in the SDCC Pack. But then, it saves me from wasting my money on this Cap wave because nobody is worth buying for me. I already hvae the BAF Red Skull, so there really isn't a need for that one and someone said Eel was part of the Serpent Society, but he doesn't look like it.

Harbinger 06-24-2016 05:39 PM

What woulda made the baf great woulda been making him rick jones A-bomb instead of gronsky.

VonPooten 06-24-2016 05:49 PM

This is excellent news. Both Wonder Man and Captain Britain were sorely in need of redos, and they look great. Brian especially, who is in an iteration of his costume I actually prefer (much to everyone else's chagrin though I'm sure, since it's not his classic duds).

Plus, Scarlet Witch. Who looks brilliant. Eel is a nice addition. The other two? Nyeh. Cannon fodder.

Edit: Very nice repaint, ken! Much more appropriate colours and wear.

Lovely use of the old Sharon head! She looks far better now. Oddly enough your Sersi, in this light, looks the spitting image of Kristen Ritter.

hasbroherofan 06-24-2016 05:55 PM

Any idea which figure they used for the Iron Skull body?

TheBlueMarvel 06-24-2016 06:12 PM

Whoa. That was a quick reissue for the Abomination...and I see my Namor 'fists' have arrived sooner than expected also...albeit in ionic form.

I like the old Sharon head so much more, it gives a slightly MCU feel. I expect they'd reuse the whole Ms Marvel figure when and if they do Jewel/Jessica

Yuck.

Well, I guess he'll be sort of worth it for the Red Skull head I guess?

Both Eels were members of the Serpent Society - the first Eel was a founding member of the Serpent Squad, and the current Eel joined up with Serpent Solutions - both parts of the larger Serpent Society.

Augustus_Cole 06-24-2016 07:02 PM

@ken... that repaint is great... but damn..that must have been a project....how long did that take???

UpDog 06-24-2016 07:08 PM

My wallet is thankful I can pass on this lukewarm wave

Took a Few Months. He Almost Done. Adding some small details Scratches, Mud, Oil on his Gold Forearms.

Charliegone 06-24-2016 07:31 PM

Maybe one Abomination is with the scarred face and this one isn't? Either way it stinks...we really don't need two. Kind of makes me think they didn't put much thought into this years SDCC.

Ditto. More money to pour into the X-Men.

This has obvisously been posted today prior to me by a new member, but here's another pic i caught online via marvelous news.

The stand outs to me are captain Britain, captain america ( looks like his ANAD suit since he has returned, and Eel. im almost tempted to start making a serpent society set even though i dont know or have ever seen them in any comics i have ever read....

Cap Britain looks to be on the same body as tiger shark. very bulky looking fits him good, however i'm not liking the ungloved hands.

Wanda is one of my most anticipated figures and she looks pretty flippin amazing. Only nitpick is with her effects. They look kinda chunky, like they came from a different brand of toys. Gonna have to find something more wispy. Nevertheless, I need this Witch!

There appears to be a slight difference between the two regarding paint, though I doubt that really means something to anyone. Exclusive Abomination appears to be a solid dark green, while BAF Abomination has a touch of yellow-green paint added to the head, chest, and palms. This kinda goes with Hasbro's re-releasing SDCC exclusives with a alternate paint jobs.

I'm actually pretty excited about the new Cap wave, as all the figures, including Iron Skull and Cap...look really good. A-bomb looks alright as well, although with the already awesome Toy Biz one, and the upcoming SDCC version, I actually would have liked to have seen an MCU version of him from the Edward Norton Hulk movie, as opposed to this one, as we never really did get a good version of that character, and he's one of the few villains so far to survive the end of an MCU film.

I ran into the DC Multiverse Aquaman finally at Walmart, and it must have been a day for men of the sea, as a friend of mine ran into Namor at Walgreens and snagged me one. No end cap display...just two or three on the shelf with the rest he said. Gonna be some fish tales and trident comparisons going on at the toy shelf tonight! Happy hunting!

And lots of seamen!

Trivial Psychic 06-24-2016 09:20 PM

And since there has been much ballyhoo over the re-use of Odin's spear, and it being to large for Namor, here's a shot of him sporting the trident that came with the BvS Aquaman, for those of you wondering about how that might work in scale. I think it works nicely. Hopefully someone will do a cast of it at some point, as I think it might be a hot selling item should they do it.

My apologies for the dark lighting...about the best I can do this time of night...

I tried my best to avoid that play-on words...but I knew it would rear itself soon enough.

Just remember, you said it...not I. =P
