That's Ram Man confirmed, and I splashed out on the decent shipping. Hopefully he'll be worth it

ludovicotek 02-15-2013 10:28 AM

Ram Man sold out with the quickness!!!

EDIT: Jitsu is now sold out as well!

I think it's great that Subbers get to buy Strobo before he hits the convention floors. I'm on the East coast so Power Con is out for me. NY Comic Con is a lot closer but I doubt I will make it out to that with Boston Comic con so close in date. Can't go to them all.

It's strange how fang man will not be available to day of salers. The first Filmation Character they put out and a lot of people can't get him? Way to promote your Filmation sub. Does this make fang man as rare as the sub exclusive figs? Interesting how a fig most people don't want will end up being expencive because you had to have the sub to get him.

I will probably get the filmation sub and the New Adventures He-Man sub that will follow. I hope by 2014 they have made all of the core characters fans want. I really would like a Rio-Blast, Two-Bad, and Modulok.

I think this does indeed effectively make him as rare as the sub exclusive figs. And I actually think this could end up having a positive effect on the Filmation subs. People may now worry that the only way to get all the figures is to buy a sub, so they'll break down and do it.

Veronica Mars 02-15-2013 11:36 AM

As long as they don't do the same with Mantenna

Yep more scare tactics. Although I have had a sub since the second year of the line and it's just easier to not have to deal with the day of sale. Now we get our figs cheaper and shipped sooner. It's well worth the occasional Star Sisters pack to have the sub.

Sorry to say but Mantenna will prob sell out in 5 min like Ram-Man. We are getting down to the nitty gritty with popular characters left to be made. It would be nice if they let people join the sub at any time just to get everything to be released at that point on so far no sub exclusive fig.

Veronica Mars 02-15-2013 12:47 PM

I don't think anyone said mantenna wouldn't sell out, he's welcome to sell out as long as he's available day of

I'm sure Mantenna will be available day of. With all the new tooling it took to make that figure, I'm sure Mattel wants to sell as many as possible. :thumbs

miketime 02-15-2013 03:55 PM

Yes I only meant that matenna would sell out quickly during the day of sale so people will miss out on him.

miketime 02-17-2013 12:27 PM

A little Blind Swordsman action as seen in Icons of Evil. Had this head from TIN on the .org. Had it for a while. Finally got an extra Tri-Clops to display him with Cronos.

Dr Kain 02-17-2013 06:51 PM

So why is there a Filmation sub and not a MYP sub?

miketime 02-17-2013 07:43 PM

IDK but one guess would be that they didn't have room in the current sub or didn't think most MOTUC fans would like more or any Filmation characters. I did also hear that next year there will be a separate New Adventures He-Man sub. Also seems like a great way to get as many characters in the He-Man universe out there before the line fizzles out in the next few years. That's all I got. I'm on the fence about getting it but I prob will.

DHeezy81 02-17-2013 07:50 PM

I'll take w/e subs they want to put out. Just get me every last character possible!

miketime 02-17-2013 08:07 PM

I feel the same way about the Masters franchise. The only thing I don't need all of is Princess of Power. I'll take the core characters but I don't need second tier/ prototype POP characters. I love all of the unreleased Masters figs like Molar, Vicron, all the 200X figs.

DHeezy81 02-17-2013 08:29 PM

I'll take all the PoP too. I don't care about shit like Mo-Larr since he has nothing to do with MOTU. I only have one because I want one of each figure they put out so I can have a complete collection. Cy-Chop, Spector, SLL, I could do w/out all those.

Dr Kain 02-17-2013 11:06 PM

All I need are Snake-Face, Ssssqueeze, Clamp Champ Mantenna, Modulok, Rio-Bast, Extendar, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Dragstor, Tung Lashor, and Ninjor to be completed as far as I am concerned. Now, obviously three of those will be out this year, but unless the other 9 are going to be the first 9 figures of next year, I have no reason to get another sub.

I don't give a crap about the rock lords, the other He-Mans/Skeletors, the half machine dudes, or any of the NA, Filmation, or POP people.

Because Mattel already owns the rights to MYP, they don't have to justify the money they spent on the rights to it like they do with Filmation

cobracobra 02-18-2013 06:09 AM

Just got Procrustus from Amazon a couple of days ago. Looks great, not a needed purchase but the quality of the sculpt and paint make him worth the $40 he cost me. I would recommend him to another collector.

Also MYP shit sells slowly, doesn't sell out. The cartoon is great but I hope that Scott and the gang focus's on "classic" 1982-1991 era of figures. I don't mind MYP on a once or twice a year inclusion but I am pretty sure if I would not do a subscription.

Also the sculpts from 2002 are almost better than they are now. Why not just purchase up the NECA and Mattel items from that time.

I hear ya. I was dissapointed with the 30th Annaversary figs being all concept figs. I was hoping for more actual masters characters. I'm a big fan of Robot Chicken so the Molar Skeletor exclusive was perfect. Too bad they made so many you can't give them away.

One of each fig eh. Do you have the Bronzed or Sperit of Grayskull King Greyskulls? Those are hard to find/ expencive. I got a SDCC Greyskull MIB Which I consider the first MOTUC fig. The other two versions of him are just different/ limited decos of that one.

A friend of mine did pick up a bronze one on the cheap because it had no accessories and broken ankles. Now who looses accessores and breaks such a limited edition fig as that?

Good luck catching them all. I fell the same way. I'd like to have all of them even if there are some I don't like or even want. Quite a sickness I've got brewing.

DHeezy81 02-18-2013 01:09 PM

The only ones I'm missing are the 3 SDCC King Grayskulls, Shadow Weaver, SDCC He-Ro because I can't tell them apart visually from the other & the barbarian Vykron. The Spirit KGS we'll never get. As far as I know there was only 2 made. I keep them all MOC, so I'm into the big bux when it comes to completing my collection.

Here's the most recent pic of my collection.

:koopa

miketime 02-18-2013 01:59 PM

You can't tell it's a SDCC He-Ro untill you open ot up and remove his chest plate to reveal a SDCC logo. Same with all of the stone color variants. You can't tell till you open it up.

I didn't realize there were only 2 Spirit of Greyskulls. I feel like I have seen several people with them. Some must be customs.

It's funny as I look at your pic all I focus on is the Thundercats and TF Scorpinok on the shelf. When I started buying MOTUC I had planned on kepping them MOC but after I had so many of them I had to rip them open.

DHeezy81 02-18-2013 03:35 PM

Yeah, that's the reason I haven't gone after that He-Ro yet. I want to be at least 90% certain I'm indeed buying the SDCC version when I do.

Completing the vintage TC line was to be another goal of mine, but shit always gets in the way. As was restoring Nok to his vintage glory. I did recently restore my Sixshot though.

There are a lot of custom casted, but there are more than 2 legit ones. There were in house copies that I'm sure we'll see filter out on the secondary market someday.

Not true! I know this because I had a purple stone He-Ro MOC before I sold him off. In a dark room, run a flashlight through the packaging (held to the side) and you can see the color of the stone through the cracks of the staff.

Anyway, I got my Ram-Man and Jitsu today. Ram-Man is the first figure since Fisto I think is truly awesome. Jitsu is not too bad either for a character I know absolutely nothing about.

I never thought of that. I figured there must be a stamped code on the pkg or white mailer (if He-Ro had one). When the variation to a character is the color of a small accessorie or the way it was packaged it doesn't mean much to me. I have the SDCC Marlena in Royal garb still MOC and I opened up the Capt.Glenn version which might be the exception. I also kept color change Orko MOC while opening a regular one. Now that Orko looks different from the regular production run. With the latest SDCC offering I didn't care which outfit Vykron was wearing. I haven't even opened it.

I should have Ram Man & Jitsu by the end of the week. Extremely excited for them to fill big holes in the Masters universe. I had been using the 200X Ram Man as a filler. But now I don't think this new Ran Man will fit in that spot. lol
