And yes, the Genesis Arc. I was quite the Who fan in the day, until Matt Smith took over. Speaking of the Doctor, I'm meeting Sylvester McCoy tomorrow at the London Film & Comic Con. I'll post the pic tomorrow because I know you'll all care.

I originally bought Xavier back when I was only getting Avengers, and those from the films, so he became Coulson. Then I went back and plugged some holes, took my Xavier head and gave him a Wolverine & the X-Men-esque body.

That's what worries me about the pics. It looks like he's evolving to his deathbed and away from how he started. But yeah, it could be some kind of 'mummy' thing where he's still restoring himself to his former glory or something. Not sure. Waiting on a trailer to see how it actually looks with the final vfx compositing,

In my toy world Hydra & Cobra are in this together. Found that logo on google. May have to get some stickers made up. The MTF figures are pretty damn awesome from what I've seen so far I'm going to be ordering soon. Link below is some pictures of MTF Figures & MTF/GI Joe Kitbashes.

You're not the only one - a repainted Baroness serves as Madame Hydra, and the Cobra Commander with the mask served as Zemo for a while - now Cobra is Zemo's splinter of HYDRA

deathofthelines 07-17-2015 07:45 PM

No spoilers but how was antman if anyone here watched if.

samsson37 07-17-2015 07:49 PM

What did I do???.....or Not do ???!!!! I came in late in the conversation....
RIGHT NOW ...Destro has hired Firefly to go take out a A.I.M weapons plant and sent Wraith to kill Tony...so all weapons will go thru him. Cobra and Hydra have come to a agreement and to show good faith have exchanged head officials...Baroness to Hydra and Viper to Cobra much to Destros delight

I liked it a lot. It is very different from a lot of the other Marvel movies in that there are no invasions from aliens, no armies of robots, and no crazy city destroying fights. Like a heist movie with super heroes and a lot more humor than you would think , but in a good way. It felt like a lot of Edgar Wrights humor stayed in the film. Plus 2 credit scenes, mid and very end.

It was good; not stand-alone film good, but stepping stone to Civil War good

Goldengreg 07-18-2015 01:12 AM

Actually loved Ant-Man, a simple hero movie is soo refreshing after all those cosmic threats.

I also liked how they depicted Pym and how they tied him to the marvel movie verse.

SDCC EXCLUSIVE: Seeley Makes Fighting a Family Affair in Marvel's "Blade" - Comic Book Resources

The new Blade comic sounds like a pretty awesome read. Not sure why him having a daughter is emasculating at all. Personally, I want a figure of her now. Come on hasbro! Perfect comic pack opportunity right here. A chance to redo Blade using the winter soldier buck used for Nick Fury, and a chance to do what looks like a badass new character with a neat design!

She sounds very "What if Kendra was Buffy in the movie and the movie wasn't so campy but handled seriously." How they plan on exploring Blade himself sounds promising too. Definitely worth a read.

"There's a new hunter in town... And she's raising the stakes!" Ha ha love the pun.

I'm hoping to watch Antman today. Taking a 3 and 5 year old doesn't always work out so well lol.
Seeing apocolypse in the new pics is meh. I really like Olivia munn as psylocke it's nice that an x movie finally made an accurate comic outfit.

ukmu 07-18-2015 08:17 AM

True, they did make an accurate cozzie, but it is just a swimsuit with a purple sash to be fair. FOX didnt really go out of their way on that one. Apocolypse looked better back when he was called Arnie playing Mr.Freeze! I think he looks quite terrible. Who knows though, it could be decent like DOFP or it turn out to be XM3. I never go in with too high of hopes when FOX is involved.

We are planning on see Ant-Man here this weekend as well. I like that it is just an old fashioned hero movie. No villain trying to destroy the word or anything.

Got a lot of MU out right now, so expect some pics later!!!!

Favorite Marvel movie at the moment for me.

Kamatayan 07-18-2015 09:46 AM

Guys, I'm going a bit off topic, but I need your help. I watched Ant Man last night but I missed the scene before the Marvel logo thing. Ironically, I missed it because I went to the bathroom to make sure I didn't have to go pee later and miss a vital scene. Could you guys PM me what went on? Thanks again.

Fox is simply a company helping finance and distribute it(plus making money off of it as all those parts go hand in hand for that). They aren't making the creative decisions. The director and producers are the ones you should question on those choices. This looks like it might be Bryan Singer's last X-Men film too, though he hasn't said as much, but he might be going back to the producer seat only on the next batch. Not sure. It's been implied before that once this trilogy was wrapped up, they were going to try a slightly more fresh approach with the next batch using the updated continuity.

So far the slate is looking like X-Men Apocalypse, Deadpool, Wolverine 3(using hues of old man logan), Gambit, X-Force, and New Mutants.

The question right now is if New Mutants will be the comic team, or the title they might use for the new wave of X-Men features. From what's been suggested, I'm kind of thinking if Apocalypse does well, we might see X-Men: Onslaught as the next direct X-Men feature. Not sure if Singer will be attached to it though. Really depends on how well Apocalypse does probably.

X-Force is still open for debate, no finalized script or direction yet. Gambit is still in the scripting stages. Wolverine 3 seems to be the furthest along out of the batch besides what's been filmed or is currently filming. With Fox, directors have a lot more creative freedom on the properties, so the choices really do fall back on them more than that company as opposed to say Marvel where they focus on making it all cohesive to the one aligned cinematic universe. Though with Marvel, some directors get some creative leeway like Shane Black did for Iron Man 3. Really depends on how the talks go when Marvel is picking a director and what they bring to the table.

So even if X-Men went back to Marvel, the question would be if they'd ditch the current creative film team, or keep them. If they keep them, then we'd be seeing the same movies and style even under Disney.

So how about that Apocalypse, hmmm?
Attached is a quick fix of the Singer fail, followed by the original from EW, & then someone's manipulation that also looks loads better than what a major magazine cover article is saying we are getting.

I whipped mine up in a few minutes on my phone using a horrible photo editing app. Just a rough idea of how easy it would be to go less Power Rangers villain and more comic accurate. Keep the MCU Ronan-like armor but move the blues to that instead of the base skin color. I mean, he looks like MCU Frost Giants or maybe a Kree... oh... ummmmm...

FOX-VERSE and MCU combined cinematic universe confirmed!!! Apocalypse to be the love child of the Kree and the Jotunheim!! More 20-points-of-articulation 3.75" figures than you can ever afford to be produced in support!!!

But back on topic... I would love a Fox-Men MU style Magneto with removable helmet and 70s Sentinels with clear plastic parts as shown in the Days of Futures Past!!! I am sure most of you would also dig those. As for the rest of the Faux-Men, I doubt I would be excited about figures of the movie versions. I pray daily to Odin, Eternity, Death, Mephisto, etc etc that the movie rights return to Marvel so the X-Men can finally make their cinematic debut ;)

Crisperion Fett 07-18-2015 02:25 PM

Oh! And those who have yet to see Ant-Man, get your butt to the theater and support it this weekend!! It is awesome!

Spoilers will not soil your occulars here, but I must say as a lonnnnnggggg time Marvel fan, they totally pulled off old Hank Pym & left the door open for period piece adventures ala Agent Carter and CATFA!!! The MCU continues to flesh out in perfect continuity & expand in all directions. Big banged we have been :P

With visuals beyond past flicks, Ant-man got me more hyped for a hopefully truly psychedelic Dr. Strange next year. The shrinkage got me ha... [ EDITED FOR YOUNGSTERS INNOCENCE AND PURITY ]

As someone who never considered buying the 3.75" Ant-man + Ant set, I am now strongly leaning towards doing so. The movie made me love Scott Lang and Antony. Anyone out theres have any pros or cons about the 2 pack?

Offered you a crazy deal, kind of hope you say no! ;)

That Apocalypse is just dreadful looking at the moment to me.

Yeah ant man was fantastic! I really enjoyed that movie and since my daughter had to go pee and I missed a few minutes I have an excuse to go again!

As for that 2 pack... Wow that thing is an excercise in frustration. The ant has a bunch of ball joints but the sockets are not deep enough so if you stare at it the legs pop off, you can even set it down. Even my 5 year old son was saying the ant man figure felt cheap/flimsy and loose. The figure isn't bad to me tho. At least they threw this scale a little bone so I shouldn't complain too much.

I really hope hasbro increases the quality back to what we had like 5 years ago lol. I feel like blight gall (meant Dwight stall damn auto correct!) can make all the lame excuses he wants, I don't like what's happened under his watch (or lack thereof). If boss fight studio can make good 3.75" figures at about $10 a pop then surely hasbro can do it. I get that labor costs went up in China, but the drop in quality, paint apps, sculpt, and articulation and increase in price is getting near the point of being unnacceptable. If this keeps up I'm out. Rant over lol, but if we don't voice our concerns/displeasure things probably won't get better.

I hated this thing at first, but after I super-glued the back 4 legs in place, I like it a lot more now. It looks fantastic, just don't stare too hard unless you glue it, lol. Plus the wings suffer from that that problem and don't support their weight that well.
