speaking of the next Cap wave due out, im curious as to when the Spidey wave will be finally shipped out. you figure it should be any time now, as the other waves are starting to ship.
|
I'll be honest I don't know what's up with CA wave 2- I saw the whole wave once (when I got Fury and Panther) and I've seen all but those two one other time, but that's it. WHen I found the wave - what like over a month or month and a half ago and a few others did as well - I thought for sure, okay, it's going to be hitting all over now in another week or two. But only very sparsely - stores are still focused on waves from first part of this year (Absorbing Man/Red Onslaught) and that farking Odin wave along with a little bit of the mid 2015 waves. So I really don't know, it's a really weird shipping anomaly, and it does make me wonder, if the next three waves do hit at retail, if CA wave 2 ever catch up or always be hard to find.
Another down side I guess to having "More marvel legends than ever" this year. It's like they want to release them in batches of 3, every four months, but that didn't happen with the first four months, CA Wave 2 shipped like two months behind CA wave 1 and Absorbing Man. And now "that trimester" of waves will soon pass and stores will be getting the next three in. |
4 new waves (including the current wave that most have still never seen all figs) is WAYYYYYY too much product for the shelves/pegs....especially considering how much old product is still there....
will be interesting to see how this all plays out, and affects future shipments\releases... |
It's simple budget stuff on the reuse of parts. They only have a certain amount to spend on New tooling. Reused parts are part of the budget. Hasbro explained this at the JoeCon. Just changing one part even a paint color makes it a new part. There are so many levels involved in making a figure they can only have so much for New sculpts.

i mean common sense would tell all of us, i guess the stores aren't ordering as much due to the fact they have an overstock of older waves at each location. i've been to walmarts,one target store, TRU and they all have Cap wave 1, and left over spider-man absorbing man figures. im sure each store probably have pallets full of these things... i don't buy whenever you ask a store clerk, if they have anymore in the back then their response is "No". You honestly mean to tell me these big mega locations only get one or 2 cases at a time at their locations? i mean cmon...... i think it's a factor of laziness on the employees part and of course the store has too many of the current waves. Personally i think they ( the stores ) are trying to get rid of current stock but unforunately no one is buying them. due to the fact everyone has gotten what they want from them at this point. |
Everything is shipped in all the time. Wal-Mart gets sshipments everyday. My TRU gets them once a week. They don't stock much in backroom. My wife works retail. Truccks, backrooms, stock is a huge pain in the ass. Store mangers and company policies hate having stock sitting around in the back. It means it's not on the sales floor for them to make money.

Scored namor. Gave him the trident from an aquaman...much better than the odin spear.
http://www.toyark.com/members/niteli...mage-3518.jpeg I think karl urban would a a decent namor for a slightly older namor or maybe kellan lutz for a younger one. Both have that kinda angry look namor needs and both are pretty built and toned. Also yvonne strahovsky for namorita! |

Civil War wave has hit my area, no BP and Nick...bless preorder...only Red Guardian was left...and I'm doing a flip flop...Even though I think the new ML Abomination is an abomination...lol...will get one as a fan of ML (SDCC or BAF)....just have to decide...maybe have to see the other one in the set as well...and rant to Hasbro, I do not mind so much, characters being on the same mold, but if you show some love into making the fig, I'm all in, you dig...lol...and, no hands for the new Electro, really, your joking right?...Hasbro, little things mean a lot, and especially in this case...Happy 4th

Honestly the only store that even has all of wave 2 of Cap in my area is my hobby/collectors shop. TRU and Wal-Mart at one point had just about everybody, but now WM doesn't and I dunno about TRU. The WM in my town though is jammed with Onslaught figures still to the point to where they've been marked down to $15. Heck they still got a ton of Maydays from Hobgoblin wave as well.

It's weird, in the Chicago area for the most part Hobgoblin, Thanos and Hulkbuster Waves have pretty petered out, yet I'm still finding Odin wave and a few Ultron Wasps here and there. For the most part we have Rhino wave (which is starting to phase out) Absorbing man and Onslaught which got here about 3 months ago that are pretty steadily going minus a few figures (never seen a taskmaster or spidergwen in the wild, just saw venom for the first time yesterday).
I don't think Hasbro would be putting out 9 waves of these things this year if they weren't profitable. Even if they are "clogging pegs" as we perceive it (though ML pegs seem to get the most movement compared to everything else), I'm guessing they're in the green enough to keep putting em out at the volume they are. Not sure what the margins are on these figures, but I'm guessing it's good. I'd like to see more of these move to Ross however. Watch 5 years from now Odin Hawkeye be going for like 90 on ebay |

While i know alot of us are only interested in SOME of the characters not all of them, im sure these things will sell like hotcakes and all of us would by extras if the stores decided to start discounting them dramatically. i never had a need for sentry, hawkeye, mockingbird, misty knight etc. HOWEVER if i saw them reduced to prices of say $4.99ish or under the $10 dollar spot i think i would get some even though i didn't want them. |
Just letting you guys know, Anthony over at Anthony's Customs has reviews up now for the new MCU Scarlet Witch and Abomination BAF over at his YouTube channel. Just thought I'd mention it, since so many of you are looking forward to Wanda.

Way too small. They should have just tooled the mold to make A-Bomb or Ch'od rather than Abomination. Had they done that, all of the complaints would have turned into praise. A classic case of missed opportunity.

I think the size is okay. Realistically, I've always imagined Abomination to be somewhere around the Hulk's size, if not slightly bigger, and we have got a few decently sized Hulk figures or two these past few years. Of course, I realize that Abomination is much like other characters such as Juggernaut and Venom, and that his size will vary from artist to artist, but in the vein of scale that Hasbro is shooting for, I think he works out quite nicely. |
@Trivial
Yeah man, unfortunately, we couldn't disagree any more. Side by side comparative photos have this Abomination as standing shorter than the latest 'bowlegged' Hasbro Hulks. I'm pretty certain that in six months to a year out, the general consensus of this Abomination fig is going to be that it's far too small. As I've said before, I'm hearing growing calls (of which I'm in agreement with) for a larger Hulk figure (a chorus that will only grow louder once Juggs is in hand). Forget height, compare the pics of Juggernaut's biceps alone standing back to back with Rhino in the photos offered on this thread a page or two ago. He dwarfs the Rhino (the mold that essentially functions as the Abomination's template) in both height and girth. That size discrepancy is simply unacceptable for either the Hulk or the Abomination. A misstep in the scale for this figure nearly locks in a compounded mistake with any new Hulk design. Let's say Hasbro decides to compensate for an undersized Abomination by making an appropriately sized Hulk...Where will that leave this Abomination figure? Gathering dust, that's where...I'm glad you like the figure, but I'm not going to be the only person from whom you hear these same criticisms. Edit:...great sculpt, but the height and mass are... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07So_lJQyqw LOL |

Hope that all made sense, got a little long there. P.S. We just got 1 single case in this week of the new Transformers Titans Returns figures. Just 1 case because we are still sitting on a few of the Combiners wars figures. P.P.S. We HATE having anything in the back stock room, We will do almost anything to not have product back there. Most of what gets put in back is food, baby, pets, and general bulk merch. Toys has one of the smallest backstock areas in the back room and most of what ends up back there are stupid stuff like Hulk Hands and child movie tie in crap. There is almost a 0% chance that FIGURES that members of this forum would be wanting are not put out the night that they came off of the truck. |
@the abomination review...
scale may be a bit off(in those reviews they should always stand figs next to existing figs...i think Shartimus does that......) but damn nice paint and good sculpt. looks like a good figure...another I'll have to have in hand to determine if i can let him live with me. |
