So, how many of y'all have gotten your X-Waves yet?

I've noticed you always got something slick to say to somebody... really friendly demeanor here on a toyforum. yea, "keep truckin" homeboy.

@Nash
BBTS is really good about not charging your card until the items are in stock. They sort for best paint apps and other obvious flaws before shipping orders. At least, that's what they told me when I called when feeling similar trepidation to what you've laid out.

Thanks, that's good to know. I haven't used BBTS too often (this is like maybe my 8th order from them) but I know they have the collector grade and the standard grade, it's probably just like you said, they're being sorted through for that. I have never had any problems with them but there's always that worry lol.

Cool, man! You found an application for that X-men wave Beast! Luv that you stuck armored Cyclops in there too...I go back and forth all the time on whether or not to grab those guys.

Great score on Namor!

Brilliant! It reminds me of this Cassaday piece. :D

Also, who doesn't love Hank with a handy chest-top? Back when he was jovially quoting Shakespeare in the lab, not working with those pesky Inhumans.

ultraman zoffy 07-06-2016 01:24 PM

LMAO at talk of throwing money at Target staff to have them check the back stockroom for figures when the little red price checker machine does it for free when you scan a figure with the same DPCI number. Why's it seem like a lot of the folks who are gung-ho on hunting stuff in stores are always the least knowledgeable and skillful at doing it?

Noice! Something for me to recreate.

Got one!! Walgreens got em. Things to watch out for his chest skin tone, left eyebrow paint and left elbow joint (some are warped to be hyper extend out all the way to the left).

The lava lamp underwater camo outfit spongebob...i mean aquaman's...trident makes a much better weapon for ol' sub-mariner bro and it doesnt over streach the figures hand.

It's also actually canon in a way. He did fall for a cat person once. Not like Tigra cat person either. Mutated cat instead of mutated person.

the last one i was looking at was cable...i saw a few pics people have of him open..I immediately look at the "vest thing-a-ma-bobble" and think it needs a dark wash...get some dark colors in those grooves...i'm going to do it immediately when i get that fig.
Every time i look at my onslaught too...i'll get around to that one day..i damn sure have enough legs to practice on..

Now that is a good idea *stares at his pile of Onslaught legs*. I also really need to practice my washing skills. I highly enjoy dry brushing but I have a feeling that washing may annoy me. Either way, both techniques really make paint jobs pop.

oh i'm an expert now at applying the wash...because i've watched a few youtube vids..so i must be perfect at it...ha...i've never even tried it yet. But I honestly have watched enough and read enough that I think i'll get it right.
Coincidentally..if you look at onslaughts inner thigh..where the grooves are..that's exactly what was done there..but i want it in the muscle crevices too.
and look at the new cables armor..isn't it just screaming for some ole silver dry brush!! I need to learn how to make scratches too...

Never tried it either. Hence the need for practice LOL. I suspect the biggest issue is getting the water to paint mix correct. Once the is done, hello badass paint details.

Yeah, that Cable would look good with some more dry brush. More and more I agree with Zoffy regarding modding my figures. I never got into this with the intention of reselling and modifying the figures so that I like them better just seems like a great idea.

No idea on the scratches. I personally need to work on scratch building holsters and a tactical vest for my Punisher custom. Unfortunately with my move and working 50 hours most weeks I keep slacking on working on my customs. Been working in a Checchetto inspired Punisher and a Phyla Vell forever. Still piecing together a Doctor Strange as well.
