Did the ancient Greeks use rapiers with hand guards? Feels much later than I would place WW and more indicative of France and Spain. That said, I’m no specialist in weapons from antiquity.

Other than that, ditto on it looking cool so far --- even if it may not be the exact WW for which people were hoping.

Hopefully the reveal of that classic Diana and the leak of another classic version in the next Collector Edition wave will stem the tide of complaints and let people enjoy these alternate designs.

I think of it like the Star Wars Special Editions: make any changes you want, nobody cares at all (they may even like it) the problem is not making the original versions available. Not a single rational soul will complain about Pirate Batman or Arctic Attack J'onn J'onzz as long as there's a classic one nearby.

The fact that we are almost 4 years into this and I don't have a normal looking modern Justice League lineup has made me rethink my life choices. :)

It's close, you could cobble it together, use not ideal fillers, but it's just not there IMO.

Which JL team, that's another story, but I kinda think of it as New52 lineup, swap a Lantern in there as you see fit.

It's definitely been a weird ride. The first year and change was a huge range of product with a lot of original sculpts, because they needed to gauge where the consumer interest was while also showing off what they could do. As a huge proof-of-concept offering or mission statement it worked well enough, but the lead time on manufacturing meant that approach leaked into year two before they could respond to what people did or didn't like.

They did eventually react, the most obvious being DCAU figures shuffled off to DC Direct re-pops and bronze/proof chases vanishing (leave that stuff with Warhammer, where those folks actually seek out unpainted versions) in favor of alt colorways, but other changes are rolling out sooo slowly compared to those examples, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of guiding hand making decisions on character selection or tooling re-use. Having a classic Garcia-Lopez '80s Style Guide figure in each non-themed wave from day one should have been a no-brainer, yet it's taken them accidentally stumbling into old-school figures and seeing them gushed over to make them push down that road.

The "be unpredictable" route that's scored me a Clooney Batman (complete with nips!) and updated Super Powers line has also kept me from having a normal Harley Quinn or a single Superman that doesn't suck in some major way. I can't imagine how bad team completists must feel in navigating this line.

Still waiting on SWAMP THING. The one figure I preorder and it gets delayed. It was supposed to be released on 8/16. Thanks again todd.

One well done execution early on - the Dark Nights Metal stuff. They got that whole core alt-Batman line up, very well done, plus a bunch of others, some vehicles, all that. I liked that, I understand that wasn't everyone's cup. But I wish that focus, quality, execution and speed was applied to more traditional teams and looks.

She's pretty much a new head & belt on Knightfall Catwoman with some partially resculpted Batgirl parts. It mostly works even if it's not ideal. I don't have any interest in those versions of Batman & Clayface, and $70 is damn steep for a figure I'll need to customize so I'll wait for the inevitable single release with some extra hands.

His shenanigans kept me from buying a movie Blue Beetle. Great looking figure but, splitting the accessory loadout was straight bullshit.

I imagine that character is I'd guess a "taken over" Black Manta, since we see him look possessed in the trailer.

But yeah, include a trident with Manta too. Maybe we'll get some exclusive Gold Label Manta without helmet and with the trident?
