The figures themselves look good but who's in charge of posing them for these promotional photos? Lol

And thanks everyone for the suggestions!

So I'm taking it that after Secret Wars it wasn't so much a reboot as a recreation with a few additions (new characters that Marvel wanted to add in from other universes.) Characters that were dead are still dead. So it's really not like I though it would be, it wasn't really the end of Earth 616 more like...the universe had a hiccup, it ended for a moment but came back just slightly changed?

So confusing in a way. But if I ever chose to get back on board (aside from UXM will I think I will try out) it wouldn't be like a whole new reality.

Nooo. It's the same 616. Although Tom Brevoort hilariously hates that moniker, and insists on calling the post-Secret Wars MU "Earth Prime," but yeah, it's exactly the same. In fact, the only changes are the Terrigen Mists harming mutants (which isn't covered in EXM at all, really. First arc was to do with Sinister and recruiting O5 Jean and OML, and the second is about Apocalypse), Cyclops' death, and Miles crossing over from the Ultimate line.

If anyone can think of any major change that's happened during the eight month gap, feel free to chime in! Oh, and the FF are no more. Reed, Sue, Valeria and Franklin are off rebuilding the omniverse, essentially.

If you want to still read X-characters but be "in the know" regarding the wider MU, Uncanny Avengers is a surprisingly good read.

OMG, like someone actually got the Giant Man wave in, AWESOME!!! Only a couple of those figures are from the Red Skull wave, so I start going through it. I grab a Nick Fury and guess who was not present one bit? Yep, Black Panther. WTF?! They have at least 10 cases worth of figures in that pile, but NO Black Panther?! ARGH!!!!

Nick Fury is cool, but not great. I don't like the gun that is molded into the holster on his body and his neck joing and ab crunch are really loose, so if you touch him, his head starts looking upward while he bends his body over forward.

Is Trade Smart related to Hastings??? I see the same comic boxes and life size Batman at my local Hastings and my Hastings just got in 5 cases of the Cap Civil War Legends and all the Panther and Fury were there, 5 of each.

Amazing Spider-man - Series ISN'T BAD, could be better. but i continue to buy because im a spider-man fan.

Daredevil - Been very enjoyable the art took a little bit to get used to because the background is almost like black and white. however good read

Moon Knight - it is great !! it's been constantly getting high reviews on a few sites i go to.

Carnage - If you liked him before you'll enjoy this too

Space knight Venom - Art is gorgeous, story hasn't been bad thus far.

Old Man Logan - Art is great !! story has been good. reminds of the gritty Wolverine from the 90s.

Spider-Gwen - not bad basically a Gwen version of Peter.

Black Panther - Love the character by far but so far up to issue 3, i haven't been really wowed yet. been considering dropping the title.

Howard the Duck - love the character, but the series is up and down every issue. however they're about to cancel come next month from what i read.

Everything else that's current i really don't mess with... the X books, avengers books, and so fourth just haven't done anything for me to really want to jump on board.

I'm ticked off at Marvel. I started comics again in the last year and quite again. Comics today are garbage. You pay $4-5 a book. I can read that thing in 2 min. It's almost as if it's written for a 5-6 year old. I can't justify paying that much for comics with no story and crappy art. Not to mention the changes to every classic hero over the last couple of years. Marvel has really screwed up lately and I'm done with them.

The Summers brothers (Scott and Alex) have both been douches. Scott left his first wife (Madelyne Pryor) and child when he found out Jean was alive. Alex then turned around and slept with his brother's wife while they were still legally married.

The MS Cain's arms from top of deltoid to knuckle are as long if not longer than his legs and the TB version might even be worse. IMO that's all by design because the Juggernaut, along with many other comic-book behemoths, isn't drawn to strict human proportion rubrics. When drawing the human figure in a realistic manner, you're encouraged to use the 'eight heads rule.' Many comic characters along with their iconic looks don't follow this rule. I'm willing to give this Juggs a pass just as I did the Juggs figs before this one. Mostly due to the fact that, outside of JRJR (initially -eventually he also drew a wonky Juggs) and Alan Davis (top of my head - I'm sure there were a couple of others), artists have traditionally drawn him as looking this way. Comic fans have been so weaned on this that X-3's Juggernaut was largely panned and calls for an entirely CGI'ed Marko were common. Movie Juggernaut was dubbed as a 'miss' because he was way too 'humanly' proportioned. My olny gripe with this fig is that he's too large period.

Yeah, the figure fits fine with how he has often been drawn over the years. Everyone ends up having there preferred version of the art but it's funny when people complain a figure doesn't look right when really it just doesn't match the version they want.

you know...once upon a time i decided that I wanted to collect Juggernaut figures...all of them(Like I do Firestorm) because I really like the character. BUT..when i started researching the releases...i realized....i really didn't like A LOT of the figures that had come out. I really didn't like the arm length of that toybiz one...and just certain things on others. I decided to just stick with whatever Juggy figs I already owned.

Same here, man. I like bits of all of them; the removable helmet on TB Juggs, the detail/texture on the MS, and the functional articulation (although, that's an assumption made from photos - and the TB version seems to have the same POA's) on Hasbro's offering.

Yup...see my complaints about the upcoming Abomination for an example of this...

EDIT: Nice photos Olds!

Spyne98 07-11-2016 10:41 AM

I love the new Juggernaut BAF. I have the Toy Biz one, I had the select one, and I have the smaller one from the Spider-Man classics series. The new BAF might be my favorite. To each their own, but I think I'm ready to sell the Toy Biz one.

They are, but since Hastings has filed for Chapter 11, Trade Smart may be bought by FYE.

Got my Civil War 3 pack today. For $40, it's not a bad set. Cap is ok but I'm going to sell him to get some of my money back. Iron Man is surprisingly good. The Tony Stark head turned out better than the IM2 version and the darker red on the suit looks really nice. I was originally going to sell Iron Man as well but I'm keeping him now. Spiderman is nice but he's no substitute for Pizza Spidey. I doubt he's a substitute for Ultimate Spidey too but I don't have that figure yet. That being said, he's not terrible by any means and I'm happy to have him. He's definitely meant to have interchangeable hands because these can be removed. I hope this figure gets a new paint job when they release it next year though as it's way too dark. I just hope they don't do re-release the same figure with the inaccurate paint job like they did with the second release of the CA First Avenger figure in the Winter Soldier line.

Whoa Alex slept with Jean? I didn't know that, what story arc was this in...

The Kitty Pryde I bought off Ebay came in. I'll take some pictures later but man oh man, is she a wonderful figure. Amazing chest/ab movement and a killer amount of range in her head. Only thing that is a bummer is the hips, but I expected that. Honestly if it wasn't for Ben-Reilly Spidey, I think she'd be my early call for favorite Legends of the year.

Alex also turned into an asshat when he and Wasp had a kid in a future that was undone. So in this future of Earth-616 which was made worse by the Apocalypse twins Wasp and Havok have this kid but then Alex agrees to give the child to Kang the conqueror so Kang can fix everything to be the way it was before albeit begrudgingly. Not only was this done behind Wasp's back but then when Kang unsurprisingly doesn't return their child to them Alex eventually brushes their daughter off as never being real or meant to happen so there's no reason to be upset about it.

I have a 24X36 silk poster framed, I just got it off ebay they have quite a few. I'm a big fan of Johansson, but literally everything about the movie, the cinematography, the story, the music, the "hidden camera" gimmick at the beginning, I really wish more people saw it so i could discuss it more but it's one of my all-time favorites and further instates why Johansson is one of my favorite actresses. as for the MLs, I've been looking for Civil War ML and have only been able to find Cap and Iron Man in stores, I eventually bit the bullet and bought a loose Black Panther from ebay but when it arrived the hand broke off so now I have to worry about replacing it .___.
