I'm hoping there is some merit in that post. Enchantress is the only thing compelling me to 100% buy this set. It's a nice set, but I'll skip it if I can get her at retail. Hopefully the full Doctor Strange wave will be revealed at SDCC.

FWIW I don't think she's going to be in the Dr. Strange wave. She is definitely a Thor character. I think we got a listing of the line up as well just haven't seen all the figures. Now I can see her being released next year in a Thor wave for sure. As BM says, there is way too much call for her not to get a mass release. It would seriously piss the many people who have asked for her way off. So yeah, it's gonna almost for sure happen. But I can't wait. I must have her sooner LOL. A fool and his money are soon parted, but that's Amora'!

redfox 07-11-2016 09:14 PM

I agree that she's definitely a Thor character. Though with Iron Fist and Nico Minoru, the Strange wave doesn't appear to be pulling too directly from Doctor Strange lore. I kinda expected Clea, Baron Mordo, Mindless Ones, etc.

im happy to hear that. that'll be a nice birthday suprize for me.

Which case did you order? Because I ordered the case of 6 and haven't received anything on it. If they are going to get the case of 8 in first, I might as well just order that one since it is only $15 more for two additional figures, of which I can donate to Toys for Tots this Dec.

The Doctor Strange wave is crap as far as I am concerned. It sould be full of Doctor Strange specific characters, not an Avenger type like Iron Fist or an X-Men one like Nico. Runaways should just get their own sbuline if they really want to do those characters. Don't get me wrong, I like Nico, I just wished they would put her in a proper line. Of course, I also wish they would have given her one of her good outfits.

Now that I get a closer look at that enchantress head..WOW...great head sculpt. I love the smirk on her face.

Hasbro does have an odd logic when it comes to character selection per wave. On the one hand, they want to honour the theme, however they'd also like to sneak in requested characters, or one's they themselves like.

For instance, Bulldozer, Tiger Shark and Grim Reaper should not have been included in the Ant-Man wave, by all rights and purposes. We're still to receive a Hasbro Scott Lang figure (classic or All-New) or Cassie Lang/Stature, which would have better suited the wave, but it was nice to get one requested villain and two delayed villains we'd seen in prototype form.

The same can be said with the Strange wave. Clea or a Mindless One would have been more appropriate, but I understand the inclusion of Nico (a magic user) and Iron Fist (fellow New Avenger).

the head is different , though that's we pay for ... kinda wish i got a pizza spidey, though knowing hasbro , they release a new figure with webbed hands like his , but thats a thing that bugs me , is only enchantress and dread-knight get new accessories.
though some unique accessories would be cool making hit the exclusive title...okay apart from dreadknight

Spyne98 07-12-2016 06:41 AM

I'm kind of torn in the SDCC set. I REALLY want the Enchantress, Purple Man and Dreadknight. I like the Abomination more than the BAF version, so I would want him. I honestly don't care about that Spider-Man and I'd rather have a non sand Sandman. In the end, I'll probably get this, but I wouldn't say this is the strongest set.

Ordered the case of 8, can easily sell off the doubles if i weren't to need them.

yes! Yes! So much yes!

Captain Nash 07-12-2016 07:14 AM

So does that mean that Sam and Rich will both be Nova I wonder? I'm kind of surprised they are returning an original to the name for All New All Different Age of Marvel Now (or whatever it's called...Marvel Now! I think is the the real thing.) Not a bad surprise just from the marketing so far it's a ton of brand new characters filling roles, once again.

Byrnes 07-12-2016 07:15 AM

For those of you who questions Hasbro and what they release. It will always be a matter of budget, tooling, sculpting etc. They only have so much for a budget each wave. There will always be repaints, re-use of parts in each wave. Unfortunately you'll never see a wave with all new sculpts in it. You might get 2-3, with a few new heads and then usally a straight repaint or two.

I'm fine with it that way. I would rather get 6-7 (8 for X-men) figures each wave even if it's re-use and repaints on a couple along with a BAF then just 4 new figures and no BAF.

Also for Enchantress in the Box Set. Only thing I hate is don't they usually change the figure somehow if they release it down the road. This is the perfect classic look. I'm afraid if she's released later it will have a paint change.

305Batman 07-12-2016 07:21 AM

The BAF Juggernaut wave isn't exclusive right? Should I be concerned about finding it in stores? I only want Wolverine.

No and Yes. No it's not exclusive but I have a feeling that for a while at first anyways it may be hard to find because it's likely going to be very popular. I think this wave will require much patience.

Boy Blunder 07-12-2016 07:25 AM

I'd be all over this set if I could find someone to split it with me.

Unfortunately, one of the ones I want is the one everyone wants, so the odds are pret-ty low. :D

Supposedly Target stores will be carrying the X-Men wave.

Ideally, I'd want Enchantress, Dreadknight, and possibly/probably Abomination. Hence the dilemma.

You and I should team up and seek out people who are going ga-ga over that Spider-Man. I'm really like, okay like what you like, and to each their own and all that but...yeah. :p

Starlord67 07-12-2016 08:00 AM

So I was wondering... What Select figures do you use with your Legends collection? I have Watcher,Juggernaut Mephesto,Abomination and Ultron.

Ha, no joke! The only Peter Parker Spider-Man I plan on getting is the Ultimate/teen Spidey.

Depends. Thor and Dr. Strange were noticeably different from the normal versions but X-Force Wolverine didn't have a lot of changes made for the mass retail version. I think it was just some detailing on the boots and the chrome claws that made the difference. If they had given X-Force Archangel as mass release like they planned, it would have been the same figure but with gray wings instead of the chrome ones. The Star-Lord from the GOTG 5 pack had gaiters painted onto his boots but was otherwise the same as the SDCC version.

Honestly, I kind of expect everyone in this set to be released at mass market in some form except for Purple Man and Dreadknight. To set them apart for the SDCC release, Enchantress may have a different shade of green for her costume. Sandman would be released in his normal green shirt with swappable arms. Spiderman could be released with a darker blue or even black on his costume. If they do release this version of Spidey at retail, I will be painting thicker eye lids around the eyes. I really don't like the pencil thin ones on the SDCC version.

redfox 07-12-2016 09:30 AM

How many "rumored" waves are still floating out there? I ask because Hasbro usually reveals one entire wave and then fragments from others during SDCC. Would like to see if there's any merit to these "rumors".

I remember hearing about a X-wave with Polaris and then a Wolverine wave. I think there might have been another or two alleged waves.

305Batman 07-12-2016 09:32 AM

Thanks Captain Nash & Dr. Kain!

Thanks :) I think they look better in action style poses instead of lined up standing straight.
