Black Panther was also re released in revisions, but it didn't kill its value. I think character popularity, aesthetic appeal, and rarity has a lot to do with its subsequent value to collectors. Guardian is a total blah fig and equally blah character. The one thing it had going for it was the short initial release, but revisions killed the Canuck. It happens.

Vision, silver Warpath, classic Havok, death AA... I highly doubt these will ever be revised in their original form - if that hyperbole makes any sense.

I bought 2 MU Guardians for 20$ together last week. Since he's part of my favorite Marvel team, I felt extremely lucky to find him in a revision. I'm giving the second away to a Canadian friend of mine for christmas.

Makes sense, although I don't want to think it's true, lol. They gotta release another Vision at some point though, right? They've released 4 Capt. Britains, 4 Iron Fists, another Falcon is coming and another Silver Surfer. Does Hasbro hate Vision or all of us?

Good point, Wolvie! You can always buy another fig and swap....but that Hulk ma have the added thigh swivel and new head they gave to the light up.
Hmmm..I may get one if they updated it- gotta make the Champion! He's a big tough moron- should work fine. If you sand the ruipped pants smooth and swap the old Toybiz head, you could have a nice Strong Guy to go with Madrox.

Anything would be an improvment on that head!

Are you saying the light up base hulk has leg swivel? I looked at him at TRU today and he didnt....

I wish they had more females. I think a Moonstar would be fun.

I read through the thread, and I have to ask. I am not very familiar with BBTS, but I was looking at their site and it says that Colossus and Juggernaut will be re-released and even now a single silver surfer. Does this mean that stores will be putting them on the shelves in the next few months or will it just be BBTS. I guess I'm basically asking if they get the same shipment Walmart or Target would have. Also would like to ask if BBTS having pre-orders is at least 90% of it coming out.

wolverine2281 08-06-2012 10:38 PM

some stores eventually do get the revisions down the line, so yes there is a chance you will see them at retail. Not sure what you are asking in your last sentence

StarWarsPaul 08-07-2012 05:06 AM

All retailers have access to the same case assortments offered on the Hasbro Order Report. It's at the discretion of the retailer to order a specific assortment, but generally each retailer will place orders for each assortment, but in some cases they will order more heavily from one assortment, rather than the other.

There have been two instances in recent memory where it is believed that Hasbro has sold an entire assortment to a single retailer.

Wave 1 of the Avengers Movie figures with Ultimate Hawkeye was sold only to Wal-Mart and one the recent MU revision cases (the one with Archangel) was sold only to Target.

I don't know this with absolute 100% certainty, but I do know that the smaller Hasbro account holders orders for those assortments were not fulfilled.

StarWarsPaul 08-07-2012 05:07 AM

I would say yes, at least 90% if not more of the product BBTS posts for pre-orders for an item indicates that it is coming out.

But not necessarily to your big box retail stores.

Thanks for the info. That means I can return my two pack of Colossus and Juggernaut and preorder the singles. The two pack is just a let down IMO. Colossus looks terrible all faded and I don't care for jugs without his helm. Hopefully I'll come across a single silver surfer somewhere.

Ask around the appreciation thread, I'm sure someone will have extras to share if you can't find them.
