Bonka Zonks? What the hell?

Nexodusrex 07-03-2012 11:16 AM

might I make a large thing clear

Jesse Falcon has been in charge of Marvel toys before David Vonner had any real power. Falcon is all over Toybiz's Marvel Legends, and is one of the reasons why that and the Hasbro purchase went over. He's still in charge, and he has alot of creative impute.

I had been looking for the answer to if he was still with the company. He is. MU Is alive.

Peteparker 07-03-2012 11:16 AM

I'm pretty sure 3 people in the world give a shit about Bonka Zonks.

bmorr 07-03-2012 11:46 AM

That's the dumbest thing I've seen today.

Peteparker 07-03-2012 01:42 PM

Yup, even the people who collect them often admittedly don't know why...

Anyone have anything different from other sources?

The Wikipedia one is constantly messed with. I haven't looked recently but usually some joker puts up wrong info.

TJ Maxx/Marshalls has Sentinels for $29.99.

I heard the purple ones are out there too.

Peteparker 07-04-2012 04:31 PM

Yup, someone found a purple Sentinel at TJ Maxx for $30!

Jackieboy 07-04-2012 04:59 PM

LOL,my local Forbidden planet are still selling those sentinels for 90 euro, that's over $100 dollars converted.and i cant see FP lowering the price any time soon.
also seeing as somebody mentioned BBTS and their increased prices over on the 3 75" thread,i can honestly say my FP are one of the worst offenders for that conduct. But the simple solution is opt to buy your items elsewhere, that's a sure fire way of dealing with profiteers and scalpers, thankfully scalpers dont have the market sown up.

Snowflakian 07-04-2012 05:14 PM

Well, I guess it's safe to say the masterpiece sized figures are done at retail. Might be better to market those with movies anyway.

That might bode well for Walmart's Giant Battle Packs though or similiarly planned but marketed through the avengers type big figures.

Then again I'm fine with that now that we have the more diverse and better articulated base bucks for them to use. Here's hoping they start using those bucks to fix some of the previous figures released too like a new Ironfist with leg swivels, darkhawk with head tilt, etc.

Im not a fan of the new joints. U like the head tilt for flying charecters but think the thigh swivel and rovker ankles have to go.

For me it depends on the range of motion on the rocker ankles. Otherwise I like them. Amazing Spider-man has it limited more than I'd like on the tilt up. Needs a shade more. Some others are perfect though. Some of the swivel can go. Duel swivel is bit ridiculous on legs. Thigh cuts I'm fine with, lower leg cuts can be annoying. The arms are perfect so long as they can swivel somehow though I'd prefer double jointed elbows.

Heck yes I love head tilts too! Feral, precision, flying, and massive or strong characters all need them for the poses they would need. Anyone with head based powers too.

The goal for me though is a figure that looks like the character I want with enough sculpted detail to pass for them and be appealing with high articulation for amazing poses and some appropriate accessories.

Torn Prince 07-04-2012 10:44 PM

That Darkhawk is perfect in my opinion...I don't believe he needs anything else.

Head Tilt for flight would poses be nice. That's all I really want added. xD
While at it, they could recolor the wings to classic and maybe give him two fists or one hand that can hold stuff and keep a fist on the claw hand.

Torn Prince 07-05-2012 06:07 AM

sort of like with that ultra pose spidey? Yeah that wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

I actually could do without the thigh swivels too.

Rocker ankles are like an action figure dream come true for me though. I'd like those to be standard.

gunzilla 07-05-2012 01:48 PM

For some figures I prefer elbow swivel it gives better poseability with two handed weapons I like ab and waist swivel but not together I like thigh swivel and ankle pivot but I hate calf swivel

the head tilt on a few of the IM2 figs was awesome(the advanced and ice armor) i think the extremis armor had that as well. It really helps
when IM can actually look forward when flying.

Calf swivel makes no sense to me other than easier part swapping for figure making. Otherwise it's mostly useless and just gets in the way. Thigh swivel I do like though.

I like upper arm swivel personally, but that's because I want double jointed elbows as well as double jointed knees for better articulation.
I love the Kamen Rider Motion Revive style articulation, and MU is extremely close to that if not better by not having the double shoulder joints and having a head tilt. The newer gi joe wrists are also perfect with their added range of motion(the ninja hands). Wish those would be added to MU too. The perfect figure to me is something like the ultra poseable amazing spider-man figure but with a little more range of motion in the feet.

For me the goal of a figure's articulation should be for it to be able to do all the same iconic poses a character is known for or uses in the media the character is in. That's what a kid will try to recreate, and what out of package collectors will want to pose it like.

Head tilt on figures is freaking epic! You never notice how much you really need it for poses until you have it. Especially love it on the commander rogers buck as it makes him look where he's pointing his weapons at.

I kind of agree. My Adam Warlock figure has so many joints, all of them loose. It just makes the figure a mess...

gunzilla 07-05-2012 02:48 PM

Calf swivel is used when ankle pivot is used so ankles can rotate 360 which is useless ankles are not supposed to move 360 I should just glue all my calf swivel figs. lol
