Side note: if anyone doesn't have the Figma Link yet, Amazon has him for $38ish, which is a bargain:

Was showing a college classmate pictures of the WoN figures, and came across this interview. While it doesn't reveal much I didn't already know, It's enough to keep me excited about the line.

That is pretty awesome fan service if you ask me. All the others are pretty common but this is great for people who have been struggling to find him.

Wave 2 (coming April 2015):

4″ Blue Toad
4″ Luigi
4″ Diddy Kong
4″ Samus (in Metroid Prime style)
6″ Metroid
6″ Toon Ganondorf
Wave 3 (coming July 2015):

4″ Fire Mario (with Fire Flower accessory)
4″ Goomba (with a Coin accessory)
4″ Peach (with a Crown accessory)
4″ Fox McCloud (with an Arwing accessory)
6″ Yoshi
6″ Skull Kid (from Majora’s Mask)
Wave 4 (coming August 2015):

4″ Tanooki Mario (with Tanooki Leaf accessory)
4″Samus in Gravity Suit (with Morph Ball accessory)
4″ Shy Guy (with propeller accessory)
4″ Fire Luigi (with Fire Flower accessort)
4″ Ocarina of Time Link (with Hylian Shield accessory)
6″ Piranha Plant
6″ Metal Bowser OR Dry Bowser

I found this list in a couple different places and I am looking forward to this years releases. It also has me wondering what has been released with the 2.5" line. I read in that article that 2.5" Boo's will scale with 4" Mario but have they released that already?

Thank you so much! Dat shipping price tho

EDIT: Yo Dubious Wave 2 is out now. My co-worker found Blue Toad and Diddy already.

Kernel 03-02-2015 08:52 PM

I hope they do an ocarina of time gannondorf.

Dr Kain 03-02-2015 10:31 PM

So why is the Metroid 6inches when Samus is 4? That doesn't make sense.

Because the metroids are typically bigger than Samus.
The 6'' one represents one of the bigger ones in her story.

They might make smaller still down the line. (They do have the 2.5'' line too they can fit one in, and they could do a 4'' one too.)

Right now, I look at it like this.
They wanted one of the big metroids for Samus herself, and they also wanted a more or less life size version of the baby ones for the customer too. So you get the best of both worlds with how it's executed.

K Dubious 03-03-2015 08:03 AM

Yeah from the handful of interviews from toy fair I think they said they want everything to be in scale with each franchise and on top of that they said in order to create value some things might be somewhat larger than they really should be but would still be close in line with scale.

I think this Metroid is the first of that. Plus I think the Goomba and Shy Guy will likely be a little larger than we would expect since they will be released in the 4" line.

While I was looking through this list last night I sarted thinking about how cool it would be if the Goombas were released in a three pack. That way size and articulation wouldn't be the value the number of Goombas would be that value.

Also just wanted to let people know it looks like some target have these on sale right now for $6.99. I am hoping mine re-stocks while the sale is going on.

Kernel 03-03-2015 07:14 PM

All of this scale debate is why I hesitated to say whether or not Samus was in scale with 1/18 stuff lol. I'll just pretend that some Metroids are bigger than others (which happens in biology).

I'm petty sure this is what they were trying to accomplish in terms of making the Metroid so big.

I have no stake in the argument, as I don't collect the Nintendo stuff, but I thought I'd show my age and chime in. :D

Dr Kain 03-03-2015 11:22 PM

There is no age to show here. I consider Super Metroid to be the greatest video game ever made.

Hey Guys and Gals I'm not sure if there is an appreciation thread for these yet as was wondering if this would be the go to thread for pics, info, and general discussion for these going forward or if we should make a new thread?

I'm already going crazy with these things and can't wait to think up new display options. Plus I want to know where people are finding them. I have never seen the 6 inch ones anywhere but Toys R Us. Plus I haven't seen the new wave anywhere yet.

There is this one: http://www.toyark.com/nintendo-toy-thread-48916/

I got bored there by myself..........

Sadly that thread never made it past its first page.

I'm trying to stick to this line in my Nintendo collecting, but this line has me branching out a bit.

I have recently molded the Goomba from the Figma accessories and I am currently looking for DK Barrels from the Burger King Kids meal toy from a few years ago. They scale perfectly.

Yes. Super Metroid is high on my list as well. Did you ever play Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion on gameboy advance? If not, emulate them immediately. Great contenders in the series.

I wish they'd do a new Super Metroid styled game for the 3ds.

Metroid Fusion is available legally though the Wii U shop. But people definitely should play both.

Phantomcrow 03-05-2015 12:50 AM

Found the new wave 2 of the 4in and the 2in at a couple Targets today. Only bought Diddy.

Yes, Metroid is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. I even suffered that crap called Other M. Hell, Metroid II is the only original GB game I own and I have it on my 3DS' virtual console. I also have Super Metroid, Metroid, and Fusion on the Wii U's VC and then I replaced my Gamecube Prime games with the Wii trilogy one. I hope they put Zero Mission on the Wii U soon as I would prefer to play it on my TV.

His mystery accessory is a bunch of bananas :-P

305Batman 03-06-2015 03:28 PM

Oh I know,I have it.

Dr Kain 03-06-2015 09:25 PM

So where are these new guys showing up? I was at TRU and their pegs are flooded with Wario, Yoshi, Mario, a ton of 3 inch figures, and then they had 27 Donkey Kongs for bigger boxed figures.
