Had 4 Adventure Continues figures finally arrive after trying to get them for months

BTAS Batman
BTAS Joker
Deathstroke
DKR Armored Batman

Really loving the blue shading on Batman (if only he had the ab crunch!) Deathstroke is cool with loads of accessoried and DKR Batman is awesome - although the hip joints seem loose on him - did anyone else have the same issue?

Good point LOL!

Got TAC Robin today, nice to have him with the cartoon style shading but unlike Batman they didn't update the figure with double jointed knees, its a straight repaint of the old figure

Was the metallic Holiday Joker figure cancelled along with the other figures or is it still due to be released?

Phantasm is my favorite

Just had a cancellation notice on my pre-order for Catwoman 2.0 - I knew it was likely to never be released but still sad we'll never get her!

Catwoman and Batman who laughs were just cancelled by BBTS.

Same here I knew these would more than likely be cancelled but darn, it stings.

Yup. Got my cancellation notice, too. Sucks. Happy that I have the original release Catwoman, but was really looking forward to the new one.

Would it be possible to coax DC to reissue these? I don't care if it would be some online shop only exclusive, but clearly they too can see there is a large interest for these figures given how ridiculously expensive the last waves are on Ebay. I mean you never see TAS Scarecrow going under 200$ and Two-Face, Bullock, Ventriloquist also are above 100$.
Honestly I feel like I am never gonna complete this collection at reasonable prices, and I don't even wanna mention how much Renée Montoya or the Batwing goes for. I lucked out winning the Girl's Night Out set for 110$ but even that's not cheap.
Maybe they would listen to a petition when they see how many people would like to complete this set. Hasbro does kickstarters for figures and it worked out well. Honestly I think lot of people would be interested if they offered to finish the series with more characters like Clock King, TNBA Penguin, Lock-Up, Hugo Strange, etc and the possibilities would be endless if they continued with Superman TAS and JLU.

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that DC Direct and McFarlane were teaming up to release figures and statues. There weren’t any specifics given but the general assumption is that if any DCD figure line continued, it would be the BTAS/DCAU line.

I’d certainly like another shot at the Batwing. I held off thinking I could pick it up on sale but it sold out.

I wouldn't have thought that the Batman Who Laughs would have worked so well in this style, but he certainly does.

That's a sweet 4-pack. I'd grab it for Youtube review material and trade bait if not for the price tag.

Why was this not frontpaged as news???

Anyway, quick question to those who still collect this line... do you think there are some behind the scenes news about the rare figures being reissued? Because of late, I have seen at least 5 Ventriloquist figures for sale, even managed to get one at 62$, when usually they go for 100-150$. And several TAS Scarecrows and Two-Faces are up now too on ebay. Maybe some hidden site leaked that these will be reissued, thus, lose their value?

Man, every time I see someone has recently posted on here I get a glimmer of hope there has been news on the continuation of this line at McFarlane.

Honestly, I think it’s just because the hype for this line is dying down, it’s off limits to new comers because major characters are too expensive to even bother starting, so I think resellers are dropping prices maybe, I loved this line, I managed to bag every numbered figure, but I still keep an eye on what they go for now and again on eBay and some with hefty price tags have been sat on there for yonks, and probably will continue to do so.

Although I’ve just had a look on eBay for BTAS Scarecrow, current listings have him for sale somewhere around £300 (major lol), and the cheapest recent sale I could find was £160 on an auction, so still silly prices. $62 is decent for Ventriloquist at current asking prices, possibly you just got lucky.

I’m no gate keeper, reissuing those harder to get figures could be good for the line, if they sell well it show there’s still interest and possibly, maybe, fingers double crossed (it’s never gonna happen) they continue the line and I get a Bruce Wayne figure.

BB Shockwave 11-21-2022 12:03 PM

I dunno. That does not happen with old Transformers toy, not in my experience, as time goes they just get more expensive, unless a new version comes out. There will always be interest in Batman TAS as the cartoon has lots of fans. Especially now that Kevin Conroy died, many people will be googling and rediscovering it, and then looking for a toyline, IMHO.

Thing is if this was only my Ventriloquist, I'd say it was a good catch. But I put later another boxed one on my watchlist, like you, just to see how much he goes for - he was in a bundle with Ra's - and they went for 132$ - that is still low considering a MOSC Ventriloquist alone usually is sold for 150$ and Ra's is easily 60$ or so.

I too would like if these got a reissue, even if it is in these CEL shaded colors I dislike. I bought the new Catwoman for the unmasked head, and because the arm of my old one broke off at the elbow.
And indeed, apart from the expression pack, we still never got a Bruce Wayne figure.

Honestly you could be right, but I haven’t heard anything, maybe that recent cel shaded 4 pack that got revealed has people thinking they are going to be re-releasing more, but I doubt it, the randomness of Bullock being thrown in there suggests these were just what was left of DC Directs stock, and while we are on the subject of Bullock, that’s got to be the worst cel shading paint job I’ve seen on any figure yet, it’s so distracting from the figure itself. As much as I dislike cel shading too, I will say that I thought the paint jobs on the figures that go re-released in the ‘Adventures continue’ line were better, much crisper, especially Robin, and the unmasked Catwoman head is sculpted to perfection.

I want more than just a Bruce Wayne head though, I want both versions of him in a suit, Dick, Barbara, Alfred, and a little Tim Drake too, don’t get me started on the villains they never did that I really want, they released 60 numbered figures but could have easily gone up to 80, even more if they carried on ‘adventures continue’.

BB Shockwave 11-23-2022 04:49 PM

Ah that could be. I assumed Bullock was a late wave figure, considering he is in the middle category, price-wise, going for 60-70$ or so. It is possible they had some that they repainted?
Oh yeah... I regret now that I sold my JLU Clock King when this line came out. I fully expected we would get him in proper TAS form, hat and glasses and cane. And they never made Baby Doll in TAS form either, or Rupert Thorne... Especially annoying how they tied Montoya and Alfred to gigantic expensive sets. I sadly did not buy the Arkham set, figuring they would release the villains with their proper accessories later. That did happen, but now I will likely never have a Montoya...

I don’t know how it happened, but I can’t imagine any other scenario where someone thought Bullock would be the right figure to go with the other three, out of all the figures they could have done. Rupert Thorne is genuinely the one villain that they didn’t do that I want more than any other, proper slime ball character, but great, I wouldn't have minded a Roland Daggett either. I was a bit miffed when they started doing Adventures continue before what I thought were some obvious choices, TNBA Penguin and Mad Hatter, Maxie Zeus, Hugo Strange, Bruce Wayne, Dick etc, and of course like you said, Clock King. There was a Baby Doll packed in with TNBA Croc, she was also TNBA version, but if I recall right there wasn’t much difference in looks between that and the BTAS version.
I also didn’t get the cave or the Rogues Gallery set, so don’t have Alfred or Renee either which is annoying, and both sets are way too pricey to get now. I did appreciate the villains getting a single release, but I would have liked Freeze to come with the little Nora in a snow globe like he did in the Rogues Gallery set. Man I want this line back so bad.

It's a call back to the Laughing Fish episode. Joker has the fish, and Bullock was a main character in the episode.

HoovenIV 11-23-2022 09:46 PM

I really just hope they re-release a Montoya and Alfred. They are the only two characters I'm missing from the initial run. I kick myself all the time that I hesitated too long on that Batcave and Batwing.

Has this ever been confirmed? Not saying you’re wrong, and it would certainly be a logical explanation, it’s just that I’ve seen this comment about it being a ‘laughing fish’ set before, but google gives you nothing on it, I’ve googled ‘laughing fish figures 4 pack’, laughing fish animated figures’ and finally ‘BTAS laughing fish figures’, not one of those searches brought back anything about this Bullock 4 pack.

Well it's not actually called the Laughing Fish pack, but just look what's included. Clearly it's the intended theme they were going for with the assortment.
