Welp, seeing those a-holes on ebay charging 400 dollars plus means I will be without them. I don't pay scalper prices period. It's how you stay wealthy or at least well off. NEVER PAY A SCALPER and in the end it's just a toy I want very badly but one of many things I cannot have.

Give it 6 months. Had a friend who found out about Mirage foot after the preorders ended and eBay was charging $300. He got them 6 months after release for $10 under retail, unopened.

Yup. That's how I've done it any year I've bought NECA SDCC stuff, and I always got what I wanted.

Nobody... not internet, not sdcc attendees... nobody is entitled to these. They are collectibles to be won by their very nature. The collectibles community is capitalism... those with money or work the system get the spoils.

You wouldn’t know if you snagged a set until after the payment form was done and submitted. Their site doesn’t work the way most others do, you have to complete the whole process before you’ll know anything.
Adding them to your cart means nothing. It could just be the site itself lagging behind allowing you to add them still.

That’s said, it’s this or nothing at all for those who cannot attend SDCC. Look at it this way, Would you rather go to SDCC and stand in a line for a few hours to be told sorry or take a few seconds of your day to be told the same thing?

I had payment, everything, all I had to do was click submit and the order would have gone through. Twice. Third time, after entering cc info, it said it was all sold out. Took about a minute twenty.

If you never hit submit payment you wouldn’t know.
It doesn’t confirm orders on their store until after you have attempted to send a payment to them.

True, but there was stock potentially available. On the third try, it was flat out stopped, saying sold out. Others said it was about a minute thirty that it was live, so the times match up.

Point is, if you are on the site, use preloaded cc info, as soon as it goes live, you stand a damn good chance of getting a set.

Yup, that's how I got my order yesterday. I was in and out within 30 seconds of the items going live because I knew how it all went down last year and was prepared for it this time.

- Refresh the order page constantly up to 10+ minutes before when NECA claims the items will go up, because in the past they have sometimes put them up a few minutes early. One of the days last year I think it was almost 15 minutes early! It went up 5 minutes early on the 3rd day last year as I recall.
- You need to already be logged into their site before the items go live (so that most of your name/address credentials are already auto-filled)
- Do NOT use Paypal. Paypal takes too long to process and you'll likely miss out before the item sells out. You need to just use your credit card directly thru NECA's site.
- You need to have your credit card number typed on notepad so you can copy/paste it quickly instead of manually typing it in

From what I've been reading on these pages, it sounds like the majority of people who lost out in getting it before it sold out were people trying to pay through Paypal or sitting there slowly typing in all their address and credit card info when trying to place the order. That's just not going to work with the very limited time you have.

SpasticPlastic 06-07-2018 01:55 PM

I used PayPal, and even though I had everything ready and set to go as soon as they went live, the little wheel was spinning and spinning and spinning and I thought for sure I lost them. Luckily, even though I used PP, and put several things in the cart, it must have been just fast enough.

Awesome! You are the rare case. Looking on Facebook and tmnt forums, it seems PayPal is a major hiccup for people. After that it’s typing info instead of auto fill.

SpasticPlastic 06-07-2018 02:12 PM

Just to nose around, I checked eBay using "NECA 2018 SDCC Turtles" as a search. There are 61 currently listed, and 88 have been sold. That's 149 listings. Multiply that by 2 (assuming each listing was for 2 sets) and that's 298 sets have been listed on eBay since yesterday. Of course, also assuming that my query included the correct key words.

IF NECA has put the same amount available each day, it is safe to say that less than 10% of the sets sold have been listed on eBay, thus far.

ShabbyBlue 06-07-2018 02:17 PM

I wonder if they'll offer another TMNT set for the NYCC this Fall like they did last year. Maybe a 7" scale version of the baby turtles. I wish we could get cartoon versions of April in her yellow jumpsuit and Casey Jones to help better complete the sets.

Batman 06-07-2018 02:26 PM

I had logged into my NECA account, logged into Paypal, started a faux order with some Aliens thing, removed it from my cart after entering all of my paypal info, went to the TMNT page and reloaded every 10 seconds from 12:55 on. Popped up, added to cart, hit checkout, waited for new shipping to load, hit submit, done.

On top of all of this I am in Canada. NECA does not ship to Canada. I had to sign up for a 3rd party shipping option in the USA who will then ship it to me when they receive it.

Lots of loops but I had to do the same thing last year. It sucks, but in the end I will just appreciate them that much more. We will likely never get Henson turtles of this caliber again, especially in this scale. I'd rather have the headache then never having them at all.

Yeah, I mean I know some people like to think 90% of these are bought by Scalpers but the reality is, they are not. You'd have to sell a single set on Ebay for at least $170 to break even (cost/shipping/Ebay fees/ Paypal fees/packing material etc). So even if you sold a set for $200 you would make a big bad $30. Most sane people can't be bothered with doing all of that.

Managed to pay through paypal too, yesterday.
I was already logged in, though. But all and all I even managed to order from Costa Rica(using a freight forwarding service, of course).

metalalchemist 06-07-2018 02:45 PM

By the way, anyone knows what happened with the Dimension X wave based on the arcade? Did they get cancelled or some weird reason(as it is most of the time XD)

Meta 06-07-2018 02:56 PM

Yeah I had them in my cart and got right at the shipping part and it showed they were out of stock already. PayPal does have this one touch thing I'm not sure if it will be any help but its worth a try https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mp...touch-checkout. I'm hoping I can some how get a set tomorrow. I really want this set badly.

Road Pig 06-07-2018 04:32 PM

Yup, two days in a row now, I have had them in my cart and as I was waiting for their shipping costs to load, they were gone. I honestly couldn't do anything more. I was prepped and had everything ready, but loading screens screwed me.

Today I had gotten the message that I was in line and to be patient with them, so I thought I was good. But by 1:01, nope... gone.

I would be through the moon ecstatic if they would do a comics through 1990 set of Splinter.

I’d make my own, but haven’t found any anthropomorphic rat toys... it’s getting to the point I might hire a taxidermist and look at mousetraps...

Ha! A while back I was trying to sculpt a Sumatran Rat Monkey from "Dead Alive". It was an epic failure, but it did kind of look like Splinter a bit. I should have kept it and tweaked it.

SpartanSP43 06-07-2018 06:29 PM

Boy, what a shame. I logged on 3 minuets after they went live and they were sold out…just my luck…

For Casey Jones you could just buy a NECA Rambo and try your hand at sculpting his mask haha

Zorn88 06-07-2018 07:44 PM

I bought mine yesterday and had no issues, other than having to manually type in my phone number after I submitted my Paypal info. I don't have a NECA account, and wasn't already logged into Paypal.

NECA didn't even attend NYCC last year. You're thinking of 2016.

Yeah, they normally don't go to NYCC anymore. 2016 was the first in a bit if I recall.

Playmates should partner up with Neca to design a subline of ongoing collectible Ninja Turtles figures. I would love to see their take on various versions of Casey Jones, Splinter, Baxter Stockman, some Purple Dragon troop builders.

I'm still patiently waiting for the First Gokin Bebop and Rocksteady, but since their Shredder fizzled due to Neca, I'm not sure it'll happen now.
From people who have seen sketches in China, seems they would have been almost as tall as their Krang, but a funky modern/anime version. Rocksteady was built like the hulk, and Bebop had a cybernetic leg.

Yeah that's right. It was when they offered Shredder and the Foot soldiers in the Mirage Studios comic colors. What a great set.
