Yeah , considering the character was never separated in the cartoon and he was in only two episodes. That's gonna be a shame for them when they release it in single card form with accessories from both episodes and for about $20. I had actually forgotten about it, but after 11 minutes it had sold out. Originally, I was going to be a complete list with the cartoon collection. But I'm kind of burned out on MOTU Origins stuff at the moment.

Also missed Two-Bad.
Either the reseller bots found a way past the verifications or...the stock on hand was quite limited.
I haven't been getting Cartoon Collection but wanted the set as I doubt Tuvar and Baddrah will show up again.
Either they offer more or I'll write it off. Resellers can die in a fire.

I actually lucked out and was able to order a two-bad. Even shipped already. They should do a single release for him as well….id almost expect it.

I would have picked hordak or gray stratos to reissue. We got ninjor and Tri-klops, so the original stratos.And hordak would have been an easy pick. Hey, Mattel, wake the fuck up already. Whiplash would be a good reissue candidate too.

It's probably a CC Buzz Off....it'd be odd if it wasnt since that Origins figure can still be easily had for almost nothing. I'm guessing Faker is the reissue and maybe MC Tri-Klops. Tho, I guess that could also be a CC.

Months ago some online seller said they were just early exclusives for Walmart, and this seems to be true. 4th quarter estimated arrival time. That part's not so great.

I see Origins Trap-Jaw was announced as a reissue. Mine had a scratched up chest, so might grab one for a replacement. I also posted the below in another Mattel thread. Anyone wanting to take Mattel's Snake Lair survey mentioned below, it ends today 12pm PT.

Soooo Mattel recently setup a new survey asking about the Snake Lair:

1. Overall, how excited are you about this Snake Lair Crowdfund?
2. If the set were priced at $300 USD, excluding shipping and handling, would you back this project based on what you know today?
3. Which feature(s) of the set are you most excited about?
4. Which feature(s) are you least excited about?

Seems like the online backlash made it's way back to Mattel. It's good on their end to reach out and what was shown at SDCC was only 3D Printed, not tooled. I guessed correctly about the price, as with Shipping it would be $350-$400. That doesn't even guarantee all Unlocks, equaling less value for your money. This crowdfund was supposed to start around two weeks after SDCC, I wonder if this changes anything? This feels similar to the last two Marvel Legends HasLabs on a speedrun.

The $550 Eternia ended with 9,291 total backers and needed at least $2.75 Million to go into production. At $300 this would need 9,166 backers just to hit that, never mind any Unlocks. I don't think they'd produce a MOTU Origins crowdfund under $2 Million, equaling 6,666 units to fund. This makes Unlocks using Eternia as a baseline around 10,500 and 13,000. How many Backers would this reach at $300?

I still dont get this line's fascination with the Snake Men.

It goes back to Classics, I think, and the uh...retconned mythology the brand manager created. They decided to take a big stinky dump on King Hiss like Filmation did with Hordak, by reducing him to subordinate. First with the Nameless One (so there's vintage minicomic material for that, but no one knows who that nameless character was supposed to be). Oh, and there's the real ruler of the Snake Men, a Lady Slither. Funny, in our world KINGS OUTRANK LADIES. What's next King Randor answering to an Empress Randarra, actual ruler of the Enternian Star System?

Still the Snake Men are better than Rulers of the Sun, or at least more interest to look at. I mean, the Snake Men do actually sell. Duplico sells, if you can find him.

I think that fan vote was mislead the company. Not including bots, I think too many people vote up things they like, but inevitably won't buy. A fourth big playset like this lair is super hard even for the most hardcore collectors to fit. It makes more sense to come out with the smaller shelf size playsets at this point in the collection. Hardcore collectors will still buy them and maybe all those people who won't even collect the big stuff might buy in. Especially if it brings down costs and creates better goals. Like multiple figures. Even if they are like Moaty. There can be so many reuse figs. Collectors buying into crowdfunds are more interested in buying reuse and collector items than regular buyers.

What Mattel bizzarely doesn't understand is that they for one– need to build up (vertically) not laterally. People only have so much horizontal table space.

W/ that being said, Snake Lair looks underscaled to me (much like Snake Mnt is). Furthermore, WHY ISOLATE YOUR CROWD FUND PROJECT TO ONLY ORIGINS COLLECTORS? Ya know, like they were at A Mattel marketing meeting early in the process, an someone said; "if our Target market is this pie chart, lets go hard after that 18% slice." And the team lead was like "Brilliant idea Mac!"
Thus, completly ignoring the Masterverse collectors & the Motu classics fanbase. Which also defaults too avoiding GI JOE CLASSIFIED collectors, Mythic Legions & Marvel Legends people, plus NECA D&D etc.

Why not go after some of those fanbase interests & money?? Which is all possible, via scaling up your Snake Lair playset another inch & half (or whatever). I DON'T GET IT!? These Motu brand managers must be some of the biggest inept derelicts– working in corporate America!

Mythic Legion customizers are literally buying the $200 Barbie 'Dream mansion' (on Target shelves) & re-working it & repainting it; because its scaled to 7-8" figures. Like I said already; "I don't get it!" Making A proper modular fantasy framed play-set w/ A couple of tall towers; that can connect on the sides of A battlement & drawbridge– isn't rocket sciene (for A corporation like Mattel anyways).

But considering these should've been readily available at Walmart both in store and online in spring, it's still annoying. Some people found them and others like me, go to a Walmart and find nothing Origins. NADA. Empty pegs.

And by the time BBTS gets Necro-conda in, I'll be necrotizing.

I hope they can make Terroar especially in their Masterverse line.
