Maybe we should all contact them and see if they have some laying around that were produced ?!! If they see there is a market maybe they will do them independent
|
I actually wrote to Stage 2 (the manufacture) before I posted that. I will let you know as soon (or if) I hear back. Apparently they make a lot of die cast cars. Not diorama stuff but like the NHRA draggsters, funny cars and things like that. Strange that they would be making cardboard diorama for Marvels golden and silver age.... a TRU exclusive no less. Weird and wacky, that's why I posted it.
I forgot what I was even searching for when I came across them on like page 8 of a random Google search. What ever I was looking for had nothing to do with Marvel, toys, NYC or dioramas....so I was VERY surprised when I read the article. |
Doug Ridge of Stage 2 wrote back...... very short and to the point was his response. He simply said," This item will NOT be produced at this time."
Bullocks! |
Bullocks is a nice way of putting it!
It looks like the 70's Marvel World playset scaled up. A really cheap way of making dioramas. I'm amazed more creative people haven't done this with generic superhero stuff ('Villains Lair', 'Sci-Fi Lab', 'Newspaper Office'). I think a lot of us would jump at them. |
|
Not a bad start...

right...gotta get this for A.I.M. now...
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/images...e/HAS10643.jpg take the COBRA sticker off and it is perfect! it is called GI JOE VENOMIZATION CHAMBER here is a different view... http://www.generalsjoes.com/images/r...s/vchamb-7.jpg |
So here's the deal I'm thinking about casting entire buildings out of resin. I have not decided if it will lock together with different pieces or if it will all be one solid piece. I have already created multiple buildings as you can see in my collection or my sig, but I feel like if I casted the enitire thing that it would be much more durable and I could easily replicate it and have it available for fellow arkers as well as other collectors. I love the stuff I have made, much of it has been better than what I was expecting. With that being said all of what I have created has been more diorama specific as it lacks a bit of durability. I want to created custom pieces that can actually be played with or displayed. So my questions to you are these, if there were a realistic diorama/playset scaled perfectly for MU would you be interested in purchasing? At what price? Which buildings specifically would you be interested in?

great idea.....
general 'bad guy' lairs.... a space scene a lab i dont even know.... but I am sure you could get a lot of interest. Maybe figure it all out and launch a kickstarter to pay for it? yes, I would be interested, 20-30 small50-70 large with 'add-ons' in the 10-15 range |

IMO, one of the most important things would be 'add-ons' in some form for each piece. Gives people more options and something to go back for.
I know, for example, i am currently putting together a AIM playset, I would like some 'LAB STUFF' to go in it. There are GI JOE and even STAR WARS options, but I would enjoy something fresh. What that is I am not sure. About KickStarter...tip for success is get all your ducks in a row BEFORE it goes live. It helps and makes you look like you got your shit together and will provide your service in a professional and timely manner. Good luck and cant wait to see! |
