Just shows Scott has gone off the deep end- he's become everything the X-Men fought against. Apoclypse would be proud.
Hell, there's no real difference between the AoA version other than a eye. |
Wow... I really never saw him of all people going this route. Have to agree with the AoA reference now.

I'm hoping that it's Magneto- that he's evil and all his bullshit with kneeling before Cyclops is part if his plan to defend mutantkind by militarizing the X-Men with subtle manipulations of Cyclops.
Months ago, a newly re-powered Magneto could have kidnapped Emma Frost and brainwashed her into helping him manipulate Scott....and later Namor when they needed his Atlantean recources (why else would he ever fight against Cap?) Even those assinine children characters of the new Hellfire Club from [I]Schism[I] would be indirectly controlled by Magneto to this end... And it would turn out that magneto himself is being manipulated by the High Evolutionary (recall that it was HL that restored Magneto's X-Gene and powers through unknown means after stealing something from the dreaming Celestial). The Evolutionary would not want mutantkind to go extinct as it would equal a failing grade from the Celestials (and thus the destruction of Earth, which is AoA Wolverine's motivation in wiping out the humans on that world). In the end, Magneto, Sub Mariner and the X-Men would go their seperate ways, Cyclops would leave the team in disgrace and Wolverine would get stuck running the X-Men, Kitty, Peter and the New Mutants get the School (after Doctor Strange unfucks Colussus), and Magneto would take Logan's spot on X-Force. There- years of bad stories fixed in maybe six-10 issues! Y'know...reading the above post, the Void sliver makes more sense! Good show, Greenskar! |
Damn these theories are way over my head. I'm digging all these ideas though. Wanda and Hope teaming up is pretty clever. Cant wait for next week.

i'm enjoying the theories more than what little i've read of the story :)

avx #6 is coming with another infinite.
"The unknown, and untapped potential of the Phoenix Force is revealed in the next all-new Avengers VS. X-Men Infinite Comic" Not sure if this is new but think its exciting. I was reading reading avx and didnt know it came with infinite. Pretty much a free comic. Speaking of which, Whos the new nova? |
Anyone pick up avx 4? Kinda dull in my opinion. Thoughts?
|
Its was ok. Didnt see wolve turnin hope in tho..
|
well finished up my pulls for this week and....hell of an uneventful event this week. I read three AvX books: AA, AvX 4, and Avengers. So little new story gained. Avengers was such a waste considering it was really just an issue of Secret Avengers. I didnt even bother buying the versus book. for those who did, anything worthwhile go on?

AvX: VS #2 was enjoyable. So far its delivering everything it has promised which is great fights. Still not $3.99 great. Stupid Marvel.
AvX #4 is so far the worst single issue of the entire event and tie in's so far IMO because it seems like none of these writers can figure out what or who they want wolverine to be. Seriously wtf? You spent the first few issues establishing to the reader that Wolvie sees no other solution to the Phoenix problem other than killing Hope. So committed to this end has he been that he's tried once and nearly got disintegrated but also fought Cap over it and was consequently tossed and left out in Antarctica by the Avengers. Then for no reason whatsoever, since they've never been close and he's proven he doesn't trust hope, she goes to him claiming he's the only one she trusts to take her out if all goes bad but give her a chance to do....EXACTLY WHAT CYCLOPS HAS BEEN PREACHING SINCE BEFORE THIS EVENT STARTED! So why the hell didn't she just stay with Cyclops' team in the first place? I mean, they have Magneto. You know, the guy who actually killed Jean when Wolverine failed when they were on the asteroid headed for the Sun. Then if that's not bad enough they get on a jet together and she takes a nap, a FRIGGIN nap in front of the same guy who fought cap because he believes she needs to die. Does he kill her? No. What does he do instead? Alerts Cap and the avengers. WTF?! Someone please explain that logic to me. Suddenly he agrees with Cap? Unless this turns out to be part of the plan between Hope and Wolverine to somehow trick the Avengers into believing Wolvie still supports their Agenda I just can't forgive this issue and the complete contradictory behavior that (insert any and all of the dozens of writers responsible for this event) have provided for Wolverine. To say something positive about this issue, the opening with Wolverine wearing a dead Polar Bear to keep warm while following a trail of Beer left by Hope was great. At least Uncanny X-Men had a good tie in issue that somehow manages to integrate good story development on their end. Quote:

• Their numbers dwindling, the Avengers stage a daring raid on the X-Men’s prison to rescue their captive members—and you won’t believe where it is! • Alliances begin to change as the nature of the Phoenix becomes apparent! • And in the end, it all comes down to Spider-Man! and • Time is running out as the Avengers are cornered in their last stronghold! • But the stakes change when Hope and the Scarlet Witch join forces! avengers academy is always good, and has a smart writer that actually does his research.

If this is anything like Fear Itself and seige, it will be anticlimatic and leave us wondering why we pissed away the money on Marvels "endless cycle of crossovers" bullshit. |

Better to skip them altogether really- if it turns out good, there's trades, which are cheaper than cover retail.
Of course, you can still get all of Secret Invasion, Seige or Fear Itself for cover price or lower...there's no real rush aside from not getting the monthly fix of stories. And you'll be able to read reviews- if it's a Fear Itself, which had NO BATTLE shown in the last issue, but did have six pages of garbage epilogue, an equally bad spinoff series (The Fearless) and ZERO consequences (Thor's already back from the dead, amking the whole event pointless as hell)....well, it's best to just skip it. |
