Has anyone join this? https://www.collectorcorps.com/
It's like that other company that does it, I forgot the name. Seems cool... |

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...4-17193737.jpg I was thinking more of Jarvis from AGENT CARTER (still working on a Peggy at the moment). On a completely unrelated note, I found some pics of a some old custom commissions I did a few years back :) http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...5-21000758.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...5-21000426.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...5-21000307.jpg |
TLD, those customs are freakin sweeeet! I love the paint job on Sauron and Avalanche, especially. All so clean; that Pyro is a custom I've been craving since Magneto came out in the secret wars 2 pack. I definitely want a decent Brotherhood lineup. I reminisced the Xmen arcade game just now...

F*ck me it's been a quiet day.
So I was flicking through the old MU thread; in just over 16 months they managed 1777 pages. We've been on this thread for 3 years and have only just got to 700 (:PBJ). What's wrong with us? Is our passion not as burning as theirs? |
There were 70 active members and another 50+ that chimed in occasionally plus lurkers.
The main reason was the line was new, it was fresh , it was amazing. Everyone was getting in on it. Hadn't seen 3.75" in a non Joe form.in a long time. Also they were cheap and available EVERYWHERE you went. David Vonner poured love by the bucket into the line. 6" was dead and those that collect jump to our scale. Fast forward 6 years and the line has poor distribution, high prices, shite articulation and there is ZERO love from Hasbro and Dwight Stall. Most have moved n to collect 6" or gotten out altogether. Couple all that with the way things were ran back then and a mass migration to other sites and the a lot of the older threads getting severely cut and deleted and some nuked all together..... Are we less passionate, I don't think so. Just a lot fewer of us with a lot less to say I guess. We are the ginger kids of the collecting.world that no one wants to play with, especially Hasbro. |
Oh, and Facebook has all but killed these types of forum based sites of every kind. This type of forum is a dinosaur now. Like an AOL chat room in 2002.
If toyark (or ANY forum.from.toys to knitting) was started today I.don't think it would get much leverage. We still use it because we like it, we like each other and we are creatures of habit. Long live TA...... |
On a different note....
Buy one of these (i know this one just ended)if you want a scaled Bad Goliath with very little work to do. Dab of a darker colour and head. Boom, done. Plus free shipping, I got one for $7 all in. Marvel Legends Infinite Ant Man Marvel's Bulldozer 6" Figure Without Head | eBay http://www.oocities.org/marvel_villa...ath/web060.jpg |
I have the Bulldozer figure already. What head would catch the definitive look?
|
JimmyO is the man to ask. He and Pyscho Pirate have, after much deliberation, came to Radioactive Man and someone else. I forgot. Jimmy ordered some cast heads and may still have a link? Don't really know the line so we were guessing mostly. It is a very large buck so most heads looked too small.
Was planning on going over to the 6" thread and asking for some pic requests to see what would work? A menacing masked Caucasian head would work best I think. No silly sanding or sculpting a mask would be best.... Any ideas? |
Radioactive man and comic Drax, going to paint them both and see what works out best.
Both from casting cave info thanks to Psycho pirate |

Does anyone here know how well the height of the Marvel Chess Figurines stacks up against Marvel Universe/Infinity? I know, by comparison the Lead figures are much smaller. If I were to compare against Marvel Universe 4" figures, for example, they would be quite small. I was wondering where the Chess figures, minus stands, are size wise by comparison.
|
The chess pieces are roughly 1/3 smaller than the figures, after taking away the height of the plinth. If the MU were in people that stood 6 feet tall, then the chess pieces would be like a 12-15 year old maybe???

By any chance do you own any (for comparison)? I have some of the Lead figurines and they are tiny but the Chess pieces look much bigger in comparison. Also, check this one out: http://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/u...stributors.jpg The DC pieces look bigger but it is really hard to tell what is what and I googled for an hour with no luck finding any match ups. Closet I have is this: http://www.marvelscustoms.com/phanto...36b3538_1_.jpg |

I have a free agent Carter head that I am sending out to you next week Simply Red. Save your Widow hair as it will come in handy somewhere else. She was the "beta level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent " that you couldn't guess. I will have your heads painted and off to you by Tuesday. Along with Nick and Peggy heads too buddy.
I read your prick message and could only think of Glenn Close as Nova Prime saying PRICK after talking to that Kree politician. ;) |
Boom Batty guy, the difference between the figurines and chess pieces is similar to the chess and MU comparison. I don't have the chess pieces personally but I have seen almost each and every one on my local news agents. I go there every Thursday to get our reserved copy of Marvel Fact Files, have done for 126 weeks now. The fact files, figurines and chess pieces are all made by the same company, EagleMoss. I will sniff around the old Google-rator machine for some Eagle Moss pics......

Are there any fixes for the flying ants legs from the Deluxe Ant-Man set? I tried super glue to tighten the sockets, but they still pop out instantly.

Simply Red indeed, I look more like Black Widow than Mick Hucknall, so I could use the hair for a mini-me X'D |
