Just a poor film all out. Probably due to Fox interference, but they might not have had to interfere if Trank hadn't been a tit.

I don't know if it will justify why I like this movie, but for what it's worth, I didn't care about the FF until I saw that movie.

I finally had some time this weekend but instead of buying the right paint for Shang Chi's skin I got lazy/impatient and mixed some testors acrylic but he is way too pale! Should I just paint over, remove the old paint with nail polish remover first, or just scrap it and get another head. It was originally cast in flesh from vortious. Any advice would be appreciated

Here is what I would do....

If you have access to a Games Workshop or any place that sell the citadel paints go there and get an acceptable skin tone that is a LAYER. Citadel makes bases, layers, shades and tons of other stuff too, but I think you should get a layer since your current skin tone would make a fine base. Layers are thinner and not fully opaque which will help mask your base, but still highlight the new skin tone you choose. I'm pretty sure the layer I use most often for skin is called Cadian Fleshtone, but it is a little too red. They have another one called Kislev that I think looks better, but I have never used it.

Can anyone clarify if this actually comes with 7 Loki's or just 1 of them?

Using Chrome translator it looks like it is just one. The majority of the text reads that it is small and super posable, nothing really about how many you are getting, but I have no idea I'm just reading the ROUGH translation

I made the mistake of getting an Ultron silver, thinking it was a base, turns out it was a layer - before I even knew what each were. Now I'm stuck with a useless slightly glittery water.

Anyone need a silver layer?

K Dubious 08-11-2015 12:58 PM

I did the same thing when I started out. Not realizing there are different "Types" of paint. I painted both my custom Strong Guy and Pyro with a yellow LAYER!!! It took like 8 coats before the base colors stop showing through the layers and I never painted Strong Guys Boots because I was too impatient to put that many layers on it again.

I really like the pose I was able to get this GI Joe figure in.

EDIT: After looking at it again, it looks like a 'Come at me bro' pose.

It's a terrible shame we'll never see that great pose

So got screwed by China bay, first time I ordered something. Picked up a loose mi cap, and his hips were glued in place! Also, while we're talking customs, anyone make a calaban? I picked up an old toy biz one, if he had elbows he'd be perfect.

He scales ok, the black is my sad attempt to give him a wash, but I think I'll clean it off.

I wouldn't say it came out too bad.

And since has bro has a scarlet witch policy, (no more mutants), I'm working on some glaring gaps. Everyone I really want to make is above my skill level though.

I also painted the metal rivets on Calaban's shoulders white, bit I think I might try to fill the holes with epoxy.

Jimmyo 08-11-2015 03:32 PM

I like that Iceman and Jigsaw, that's good work Brother

Universe 08-11-2015 03:39 PM

Alright, so chameleon is total garbage with this new buck because the legs do not move at all at the hips because of hindered hard plastic on the bottom coat portion (think Ukmu pointed that out before). 5 POA is better than what he has, so I'm going to plop him on a prof x body. The Northstar is great even though it's on my least favorite buck. The extra heads were nice.

For a company that has cut articulation, great sculpting, accessories, and packaging art to save money, they waste it on legs that don't move. A removable jacket piece on the lesser articulated body, perhaps made of a more flexible plastic like most capes, would have made more sense for the leg movement.

UrsaMagnus 08-11-2015 04:22 PM

It doesn't matter. They've all got raging you-know-what's for Legends now and the rest of us who like the "Happy Meal Toys" be damned.

Universe 08-11-2015 04:30 PM

Spoken for truth, they seem to be putting out less and less articualtion on the "new direction" of MI. Was it so hard to reuse a prof x body without the vest and tie? Ugh...

K Dubious 08-11-2015 04:41 PM

Nice pics!

Kylactus that Jigsaw is too good, you nailed the head sculpt and paint.

Universe your dio is on point! I like how much depth is there.

That sucks about Chameleon,. I wonder if there could be a mod to a swivel upper thigh to get a bit more range of motion....

it's Ace from the Gi joe 25th line, he was a pretty boy, needed to be cut. all I did was cut approximately 2mm gashes in the same locations as my reference piece (a 1992 fleer ultra card) then painted them black and wiped off the excess did some single hair brush stitches and red accents and I kind of drilled out his eye by hand with a small drillbit and painted the socket black and bug eyed. I also tried to mix a couple slightly different skin tones but I think there too close to tell. then I splattered red on his suit.
