It was like...."we're going to do this story but we dont' want to have any actual logical reason why we're doing it. We just want to talk about the new Thor and neveryoumind the old Thor!"

Im tellin' yah man nick told thor he knew his internet search history. ;) Yah i have pretty much given up on the comics being any good really anymore. I just pick up toys of characters who have designs i like or costumes i dig.

That's why I appreciate your photos... it's a bit jarring when the conversation turns into an endless text only shipping update/wishlist/comic book discussion parade, that after a while it's just screaming for anyone to actually show a picture of a figure of some kind. Main reason I don't bother frequenting forums much anymore really. There's nothing wrong with those subjects in small doses, but several pages is too much.

Updated my Spider-Verse line-up! I tried to re-make the cover made by Olivier Coipel again and added a little twist to it.

Made a quick tutorial and BTS of the whole set here: https://youtu.be/KMlW2oTSd1w
Also, made a bonus vid for that: https://youtu.be/z19u7mTRtCk

The fact they made Jubilee the BAF when she was one of the most requested figures at that time was pure madness.....it may not have been madness IF they had not made it exclusive and IF they had not short produced it, but since they did, it just made for an altogether angry fanbase.

Therefore I suspect we will see her again at some point. ALong of course with Storm, Magneto, Cyclops and Wolverine, of course.

With Emma and Rogue remade, Banshee is now THE WORST looking X-men character we have from either company. He really needs to be redone. Hasbro was still on a learning curve their first year out with Legends....all those figures could be redone, not the X-3 figures though.

kenm2474 07-15-2016 12:36 PM

Couldn't resist. I just bought an Xmen Wave Case. $175 Shipped.

Yeah he looked bad and so does the toybiz Gambit so they definitely need to remake them in the next wave of X-Men and Maybe Morph

The ToyBiz Gambit isn't that bad to me, personally. That head sculpt is damn near perfect in my eyes. Only real issue is his size when compared to current characters.

That being said, yeah, I'd like him to be brought up to the current aesthetic of the line.

I'd also like to see a new, classic Nightcrawler, if only so we can have an alternative that doesn't have a grumpy old man face.

Not counting the rumored second X-Men wave and the Wolverine wave with this, but after those, I would not be surprised if the next wave went something like: Storm, Psylocke, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Moonstar, Madrox (those two have prototypes after all), and some combination of Banshee/Bishop/Magneto/Angel/Cannonball/Domino. I still think they're gonna hold off on the Beast due to uniqueness of the sculpt and the fact the TB Beast holds up very well, I don't see a huge amount of requests for him.

After the release...that's probably the lowest price I've hear off for a case of X-Men. Good score!

Now that is what I'm talking about i would buy all of those i didn't even think about Madrox he would be so cool! And angel definitely needs an updated figure the old one is so skinny and it's shoulders are weird.

He head scuplt is great but he is skinny even by Toybiz standards

Good luck, I hope it wasn't a situation where it appeared it was in hand as it didn't indicate pre-order, but actually was still for preorder like the X-Men wave I almost bought a month ago. I really wish Amazon had stricter policies for third party sellers if the items are still on preorder through them.

They shipped out already...and they already provided a tracking number...good ole' Amazon..

Almost nobody gave two scoops about the GotG before the movie was announced. While the DnA cosmic run is rightfully praised as a modern cosmic masterpiece very few people read it because cosmic stories have always had the hardest time attracting readers since they tend to get very heavy into the science fiction. But that story arc eventually ended and then when Marvel decided to give GotG a movie they figured they should start up a new comic to cash in on people's curiosity about this incredibly obscure team. Except they chose Bendis as writer and the book paled in comparison to what we already had, mainly I'd say because the team didn't feel like it was actually trying to save anything beyond its own members.

man but for real...Ultimate Universe was my shit!!..it GROUNDED everything...it's what the avengers movies are based off of if you ask me... err'body was too goody-goody before then..and not "real-world-ish"

The ultimate universe was okay when it launched, heck some of it was great, but then it turned into "hey let's see how dark and shocking we can get." Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were made incestuous, the Avengers watched a sex tape, and then tons of characters got killed off-panel by a flood. The worst part about this damage is not how much of it was gratuitous but how much people were confusing it for the mainstream stuff. The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver part in particular has stained the characters across the board, when it was announced the two would debut in the Age of Ultron movie there were a bunch of people saying "there's no way they're keeping the twincest right?" and for me it was like duh since that was never actually a thing in the normal comics and it was done exclusively for shock value. As if people didn't give the character a hard time for M-day they threw on more stigma for one of my favorite Avengers.

On the topic of toys, my local area seems to have dried up which sucks. At some point my walmart got out a Giant-Man case but now it's just Cap hanging around.

I just read issues #1-4 of the series and.....
No Thank you!!...do not like..do not want.
A "purged of evil" symbiote with a leg-less Eugene "Flash" Thomson playing Space Cop...PASS!

I felt no attachment to the character...don't care for where they've taken the Symbiote's origins..

Please bring back (and i'm sure it will happen SOMEDAY) the villanous, insane, manical, Spider-man-blood thirsty, crazy symbiote we all know and love.

I get it, i don't think it's bad, but yea i also prefer Venom back on earth with eddie brock as the host. i've been reading the entire Spider-man clone saga and every couple of issues he would pop up. it would bring a smile to face. mind you this was back PRIOR to them extending the white spider all the way around his shoulders and so making his eyes red etc....

In other news went to a 2 wal-marts, one yesterday and one today. yesterday's had and over stock of the Odin wave, and today's had mix of both the red onslaught wave and some of the absorbing man wave....

Needless to say i walked out without any toys these two visits.

Trivial Psychic 07-15-2016 01:49 PM

The ToyBiz Gambit was just fine to me. In fact, I thought he was pretty damn awesome (not to mention spot on) as long as it was the original release, and you left the coat on, as opposed to one with the crappy vinyl coat (the box set one) that fell apart after a year.

I'm going to assume the Spider-Man Noir (in front) is a custom job. The one behind him, Mangaverse Spider-Man, is from the Spider-Man Classics line, and the one in the far back is probably also a Spidey Classics figure of some sort.
