I said Flint but I meant Duke. I'm an idiot. I only just realised it because my mate has just sent me a photo of his haul today which DOES include Flint and also Lady Jaye. Look at the bloody prices of them though. I just said to him eh mate you could got me a couple of those while you were there. lol. £2.99 for Flint? I paid more than that for sausage and chips the other night. lol

Wow. Even adjusted for USD, that would still be a fantastic price for some additional Flint figures for tinkering.

I guess that's from the time when he was an Iraqi sympathizer (1990–1991).

I used to be really upset that I missed out on the Mattel Sgt Slaughter, sold out in seconds, never had a chance! Now I'm actually glad.

Aye, he looks generic enough to custom into some random troops and such.

Kirathis 07-27-2022 06:44 AM

The pre-order process has apparently gotten difficult for my brain to manage. I just had another 4 B.A.T.s arrive from Entertainment Earth and apparently also have 3 additional still awaiting stock for a GameStop order. Somehow I placed 2 orders, each for 4 Crimson Guards from BBTS and another 2 from Pulse. I just had to cancel a duplicate order for Dusty and Zarana. At this rate, I am going to need to maintain a database to keep track of pre-orders...

I am glad I only sporadically collect Legends now LOL. That would be a whole additional monster of which to keep track.

Kirathis 07-27-2022 07:36 AM

Retro Destro and Gung Ho are available with 2 day shipping through Walmart.

So I can order a retro carded Gung Ho today (Wednesday) and it will be at my house on Friday, but the order I placed in March still isn't going to ship until September? Walmart is the worst about preorders. I am going to place a new order and see what happens.

Kirathis 07-27-2022 09:14 AM

Agreed. I find it amusing that both figures sure still listed for a December ship date on my Pulse pre-orders.

MegaPrime33 07-27-2022 09:28 AM

I have a couple of classified figures for sale in my bst thread if anyone is interested.

Yeah. It really is bizarre. I went ahead and placed an order for Gung-Ho and requested a cancellation of the pre-order. Worst case scenario is I end up with two, one of which I can either return or donate.

Went to Vintage Stock to sell some old stuff in exchange for new stuff and found the Classified Storm Shadow and Cobra Officer grabbed them instantly.

The Storm Shadow is really good, love that his left hand is sculpted to fit an arrow between his index finger and middle finger. Also that Reborn trade I also got on that trip was to B Pop Comics just down the street from Vintage Stock. Vintage Stock didn't have any GI Joe trades currently on shelf, so I got a Batman Adventures Continue Trade.

flansered 07-28-2022 11:47 AM

I received the order for the retro Gung Ho today, which surprised me since I placed the order yesterday. I think I like it better than the first classified Gung Ho, and I wish that all the figures came with the stand like he did. Or maybe Hasbro can start selling them on the Pulse website?

Is it ok to feel somewhat annoyed by what appears to be no real organising of these multiple action figure brands? You got GI Joes, Marvel Legends, DC McFarlane, Masterverse, Power Rangers etc all over the place. lol

...and yet they still manage to be nowhere (at least in my neck of the woods). Quite a conundrum, eh?

Vintage Stocks are relatively small retail stores you can find in Strip Malls. They also sell music albums, movies, TV show seasons, comic books, graphic novels/trade paperbacks, video games, and video game consoles in addition to action figures. Not to mention they sell loose and boxed figures. Yeah, it can be a bit annoying, but given the context understandable. They also have DC Mattel, DC Direct, and Marvel Toybiz figures on that wall they're in the back.

Depending on where you live it may be named EntertainMART or Movies Trading Co. when I get coupons and sale notices they'll have Vintage Stock, EntertainMART, and Movies Trading Co. on the logo indicating the various names the store is known by. I live in the Kansas/Missouri area where most locations are Vintage Stock. Recently an EntertainMART opened in Overland Park, KS.

Haha, nope dude, we don't even have a Target locally. That's all good, though- I'm on top of the online thing, so if it's been released and I've wanted it, I've managed to catch it all so far close to or at retail prices.

Aye. I'm in the UK but similar situation. No decent toy stores near me so I have to get most of my stuff online (when I can afford toys at all), so aye, the debates about windowless packaging don't affect me all that much when I can't see the toy I'm ordering online anyway. lol

MeLikeJinx 07-28-2022 04:03 PM

Yah, that wall of action figures on sale is messing with my OCD... I want to just reorganize the whole thing and at least put all the Joes on one peg.

I'm not much of an online person, I like to buy my stuff in person so it's guaranteed that I'll have it. I only shop online if I get gift cards to Amazon or eBay for holidays or my birthday or I just win them in a raffle.

When I worked at Vintage Stock, the manager would assign me to organize them when he didn't have to alphabetize comics, CDs, and movies. Granted I didn't work at the location photograph so I don't know how management there wants that wall to look.

Kirathis 07-29-2022 04:45 AM

That photo is reminiscent of every Vintage Stock I have visited in the KC area. Their stores always appear to be chaos, held in check by a thin veil of order, with disaster looming on the sidelines. I do not recall having ever purchased something on any of my admittedly few visits as their pricing on new items is generally $5-15 over MSRP.

tierneygreen 07-29-2022 07:59 AM

Well, I'm glad I'm not a MOC collector. This is how Gung-Ho arrived this morning.

EternianJerkian 07-29-2022 08:09 AM

That's bloody crap packaging, mate. Glad you ain't so into the keeping the box of the figure but that's still pretty shocking.

Wow, I must of gotten lucky. Mine was in a box, and there was a rectangular piece of cardboard put around the bubble. But it didn't matter cause it got opened. The blister card felt really thin and flimsy, like a Hot Wheels card and not really appropriate for something the size of a 6" figure.
