I honestly don't know what to think of that. I really don't.

Jingle bells, Batman smells
Robin laid an egg
The Batmobile lost a wheel
And The Joker got away

If the photos are from HK then it might be Hong Kongese dollars or yuan, which tracks about right for 20 USD. But that doesnt explain the dollar sign in front....

According to Wikipedia, they sometimes use the dollar symbol just like us.

I vaguely remembered as much, that’s why I said what I said, but did so with muted conviction. My experience of travelling to the Caribbean has taught me as much and I also knew that parts of South America do the same despite having their own currencies. I guess those were some of the “perks” to the dollar, formerly, being so strong within the world's economy…however, that’s no longer the case.

Damn mcfarlane and his cheap plastic! ;)

Cyclopswc 09-26-2023 05:55 AM

Yes, Hong Kong uses "$". It refers to Hong Kong Dollar (HK$), but if you're in Hong Kong, unless you're in one of those fancy tourist places, it's understood it's HK$. Especially if they mark a McFarlane figure at $148. But I think that also has to do with it's easier to find a keyboard with a "$" key instead of a Pound or Yuan key.

firmpulse 09-26-2023 09:16 AM

Looks like the ankles, knees and elbows of GITD Titan Joker do not glow.

Zigerlion 09-26-2023 09:36 AM

I guess McFarlane saw the Star Wars holiday figures and thought "I need to jump on this money train!"

Yeah, I thought so, but wasn't entirely certain. Thanks for confirming.

He's always done Christmas themed stuff. From comics to figures.

From 2003:

Raine24 09-28-2023 06:58 PM

The cover art that figure's based on graced a release of the movie soundtrack. No extra themed tracks or anything, he just wanted a Christmas version out there, and that was '97.

deecee4 09-29-2023 03:27 AM

Pretty sure that Santa Spawn image also got repurposed as a Previews magazine cover a couple of years later. I only know cause I had my artwork appear in that issue and held on to that magazine for a while.

Not really, he did one issue of Amazing spiderman that took place during Christmas.
He did more Christmas stuff post-Marvel including an entire wave of Christmas themed figures and that cartoon Santa character, whatever that was used for.

Could've just admitted that you didn't know what you were talking about instead of looking up the definition of the word some lol.

It wasn't even a proper definition burn. No pronunciation key. Honestly, some people shouldn't try and play smart ass if they aren't any good at it.

Raine24 09-29-2023 12:16 PM

I couldn't decide if switching the Santa gear would leave one of the Bats looking lame, so I did a quick edit for those looking to get the two-pack:
