well soon we should start seeing MU figures at garage sales and flea markets right? figure a kid started collecting them at 9, in 2009, now he's almost 16 scrounging cash to buy a car, time to unload the toys. Has anyone seen MU figs at a flea market? I see old legends all the time, but never 3.75, other than Joes.

Il Cattivo 08-20-2015 10:36 AM

I see them all the time here. they're usually really beat up though and missing limbs.

That's some good logic right there! LOL.

I'm debating of getting rid of the new MI figures now that I've grown to like the legends ones, the dup female ones that we have i.e. Wasp...Cause the boxes are nicer now then the MI cards...

Glad you got one; I think that figure looks really good and the paint pops better than the original colors (Gargan). Nice sig

I totally agree. And also, thanks for the sig compliment. I dug through so many boxes just to find the stuff for my B/S/T. The unreleased Orange Fin Fang Foom is my personal favorite. I pulled a lot of strings to get him. It's too bad I couldn't score the Howard the Duck that was supposed to come with him.

It'd too bad I have to give up Fin soon. A buyer has inquired. He got badly broken and it really bothers me but some people don't care about it.

Sell him to me and I'm never gonna give him up!

The question is, will you let him down?

Kamatayan 08-20-2015 04:22 PM

Oh, yes! Now I have to get a custom Coulson to go with this! Lola is here! It's scheduled to come out sometime around October.

Good thing I walked away from my computer..I was in the process of packing up my customs and sending them to ya

Kamatayan 08-21-2015 11:05 AM

Now that I've got Anti-Venom, I think I should start grabbing the essentials. Like the Avengers, Zemo, Doom, etc.

Could you guys help me name more of the figures that should be in every MU collection? Obviously, I'm working on the Avengers, so which versions of each Avenger should I get? I'm planning to stick with some of the main one's for now. Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Wasp, Ant-Man, Black Panther, and the Hulk.

One piece of advice: If you ever come across a Vision, do not pass it up. Even if you don't want it, someone here will I'm sure. Additionally I think having Ms Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Hawkeye and She Hulk are pretty imperative. Good luck on a couple of those though. Secondary to that I'd say if you can track down the Wonderman/Quicksilver comic pack, that and all of the above would set you up with all your main Avengers. The rest are great to have but not essential, IMO.

I've got Scarlet Witch, and the single carded She-Hulk is at my local comic store loose. There are a bunch of Widows at the local comic store, I see the Infinite Hawkeye at Target all the time, and I'm pretty sure my local comic store also has Ms. Marvel.

Cool. Widow and Ms. Marvel were the two that would be harder to find. It was kind of funny how common it was (after the first couple of months) to see Scarlet Witch and She Hulk in the stores, but then again the line was in its glory days back then. If I were you I'd definitely pick that Hawkeye up. Or go for the West Coast Avengers 3 pack and get Mockingbird, Hawkeye and War Machine all together.

It's your lucky day, as it happens I love listing things. I'm going to do full Avenger team, main first:
  • Now Wasp only has the one figure, so get her definitely.
  • I'd say you need both Yellowjacket & Ant Man, Ant Man can be used as Scott in a display with both of them. Also, a Marvel Legends Movie line Giant Man for a larger Hank.
  • The MU Wave 18 Hulk is the better version.
  • For Cap, it has to be the MI Wave 1 Cap on the Daredevil body.
  • Iron Man it's either Extremis armour or the classic armour, depending on the look you're going for.
  • With Thor, the modern Thor is the best generic Thor look.
  • I'd recommend the Orignal Avengers 3-pack as a staple of anyones collection.
  • Black Panther is the TRU Light Up base one, the others are just garbage.
  • I managed to snag the twins for cheap from a friend on here, but Quicksilver & Wonder Man will set you back a fair bit. I'd recommend the Ionic Wonder Man for a Masters of Evil look though.
  • Back Widow, Nick Fury, & Falcon are also best in the Cartoon line. If you want white Fury Sr, UKMU has his head. Stick that on a Cartoon line black Fury body.
  • With Ms Marvel, it's probably best you go Warbird costume.
  • Capt. Nash is right, get the West Coast Avengers 3-pack. Do not get the Infinite Hawkeye, that is Bullseye in disguise from the Dark Avengers line and we don't want that with our Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
  • Wolverine & Spidey will divide opinions. I'd say the the Astonishing Wolverine & Captain Britain 2-pack Spider-man.
  • Get your Daredevil and your Bullseye in the 2-pack, they're two of the best figure this line produced.
  • For Loki I'd recommend a movie figure - Sorcerer Fury or Secret Strike. The comic one is out-dated now, and the younger-looking movie Lokis are more comic accurate for recent times.
  • Get the Fantastic Four 3-pack, and a flaming Human Torch to complete that team, then you don't have to worry about costume consistency.
  • Either green Doom is fine. They're both the same anyway.
  • Don't forget the lesser Avengers - Spider-Woman, Modern Luke Cage, and any Iron Fist. Also Beast, Infinite/Showdown for Classic Avenger look, Astonishing for Secret Avengers look. For Dr Strange get the 2-pack, then you get Silver Surfer too.
  • For your bad guys, I'd say the basics you need are Zemo, Abomination, Ultron, Winter Soldier (TFA Movie line comic version), Mandarin (red is easier to find), Green Goblin, Thanos (regular release comes with both Infinity Gauntlet & regular left forearm), and Magneto. They basically cover all bases when it comes to villains. Of course there's then Mystique, Juggernaut, Enchantress, Crossbones, Doc Ock, etc. who are all eventual needs.
  • Red Skull is best in the Avengers Assemble cartoon line, some will say SDCC, ignore them.

That'll set you back over $1000, but it will be so worth it when you get them all XD

Captain Nash 08-21-2015 12:34 PM

OOh falcon. yes, he's definitely a good one to get too. And how could I forget Ant-Man/Yellowjacket.

Not sure if you use Amazon or not, but they have that WCA pack up at a really nice price right now ($20_

Amazon.com: Marvel Universe The West Coast Avengers Figure 3-Pack 4 Inches: Toys & Games

I didn't even know that the Infinite Hawkeye is Dark Hawkeye. In that case yeah, definitely pass on it and just get this sweet three pack. YOu'll get a core Avengers and two secondary Avengers with it.

To add, if you're ever wondering who the core Avengers are, it's basically the characters that Kurt Busiek used in his Avengers run, minus newer additions like Justice, Firestar and Triathalon. I think that's why his run has always been so great for me, it's a classic lineup with a few new additions. Also why I really want Justice so badly to complete that first team line up he had, not because of any great love for the character.

Dude, thank you so much! Screenshotting this list for future reference. It frustrates me how many of these I've passed up in the past. Guess I'm gonna have to hit the Disney stores soon. The last time I was at one, they had the entire AA cartoon line on clearance for $5.

The birthday's coming up so I'm hoping to knock down quite a few of these guys with money.

Thanks for telling me. I think this set is a must have for me. It comes with one of the main Avengers, Mockingbird for the SHIELD part of my collection, and I still don't have a comic War Machine, so ya.
