Actually, this is the Lord of Asgard Thor that WAS exclusive to WM along with comic Loki and MCU Thor with the helmet.

I've only picked up MockingBird and the Demolition Man aka Scourge figures.

Im thinking of going back and picking up Sharon Carter cuz Ive noticed the woman figures are quick to not show up again. What is yall's guess?

If in your area you often don't see the female characters, you'd best grab them when you see them.

Around here, in lower Maine, they go quick ... from the first cases. when they get restocked they hang around forever.

I've only seen that wave a couple times, and only in the last week; haven't picked up any cos only really want Captain America and the Cap paint jobs aren't filling all the nooks, and I can't decide if I want Sharon Carter or not.

I was very skeptical about TFA even after the first wave of critics and audiences almost universally approved of it. Then I went to see it at the beginning of January and holy crap it's another good Star Wars movie! I mean it's got its problems sure but hell there are parts of ROTJ that I can barely stand (ewoks) so I'll cut the new one some slack.

yeah, you're totally missing out. the force awakens is absolutely fantastic. cool new characters, an awesome new villain, a TON of ties to the original trilogy, i mean, it is a continuation of it after all.

this has no prequel trilogy to it at all, there's no stench of it, there's not even a hint of it.

i mean, this movie was clearly made for fans of the original trilogy. there aren't any lame political conversations. the computer graphics are done well and used properly. lots of great looking practical effects.

personally, i like the force awakens more than a new hope. i was introducing my father to star wars. i decided that i was going to show him the original trilogy first before we went and saw the force awakens.

i've noticed that when i'm showing a movie that i like to someone, it really tends to bring out the flaws in that movie more than if i were watching it alone. after watching both the force awakens and a new hope, it was clear to me that TFA was a more enjoyable movie. there were too many lull's and parts that were just a bit too goofy. i really tried to separate the nostalgia (which i've noticed is REALLY difficult for some people), after doing that, it's obvious that the new one is just a step above the originals.

but.. for some people there's just no way to relinquish the nostalgia of the originals. so, no matter what, they're never going to like anything as much as they like the original trilogy.

I only own 4 funko pops, all of which are Marvel Cinamatic Universe related, so I didn't jump on these cool little guys.

I don't know that I'd say it's a step above the "originals" plural. I thought it was definitely better than ROTJ which was plagued with ewoks. It might even be technically better than the original Star Wars but here I find it difficult to draw the line and I think that's mainly because the first Star Wars was a much more adventurous film in spirit. It was basically an Arthurian tale about a young knight and his wizard friend going to save a princess from the evil castle and there's magic. TFA is more serious in tone but as a movie it carries nostalgia on its sleeve. This is why I find it hard to say TFA is better or not than the original, because even it can't put aside nostalgia. ESB simply still reigns supreme, it explores some heavier themes while it also builds on the mythos of the force and basically serves as a reality check for Luke. First the rebels get their asses kicked on Hoth, then Luke crashes in a swamp and gets shamed by Yoda, then he ignores Yoda's advice and springs a trap which gets him physically maimed and mentally broken. The movie ends with the good guys losing, it's grim but it's highly effective to show the struggle of light against dark and that just because you're on the "good" team doesn't mean you'll win.

Passed up a bunch of stuff.

I already have the DKR Bat's and Supes, but there were at least two of each of the three.

Knightmare Batman was pretty cool. Might pick him up someday.

http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...psv9qqahzw.jpg

Was really difficult for me to pass on Jango, but the paint apps just weren't perfect enough for me. And, I don't really like all the black dry brushing all over the figure. Particularly on the helmet.

I take it Walmart right? Mine haven't receive those 30th anniversary. I'm pretty sure I'll find them if they ever get to my city, lol

Zorn88 02-19-2016 10:38 PM

Yeah, the DKR stuff was at Walmart. The basic figures and black series figs were at Target.

erastop 02-20-2016 06:25 PM

Color?

Im totally passing on these $10.00 Batman v Superman figures because of their lack of articulation...BUT when I saw these at a different walmart it had me scratching my head.
The color choice is WAY more vibrant and the blue on Batman looks nice! What about that variant for Aqauaman?
I wasnt sure what to make of these because of the different color scheme?

Let me know what yall think?

Wow, that's a variant Wonder Woman with silver color. The original is gold. Time to start searching!

erastop 02-20-2016 08:31 PM

Yeah, I know! That Wonder Woman looks better in that color, imo. But I know it's not the DC cinamatic version.

Zorn88 02-20-2016 10:12 PM

I wish the bat symbol was yellow on that blue Batman.

First time I have ever seen Phasma at retail. Have wanted to get her for a while, but after her role being a let down for me, I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I also literally just saw Phasma for the first time in store and they had four no less! I got mine back in time for Christmas thanks to Black Arbor but finally seeing at least one in person felt good. While I was disappointed with her lack of screen time in TFA I'm glad that she's been confirmed to return in VIII with a larger role.

Yeah, I am glad that she will have a larger role as well.

I also just don't feel the TFA hype anymore, but I am sure that I will regret not picking her up haha.

These color variants are the movie characters in comic book colors. Besides the colors the Aquaman does not have the movie body tattoos. Also Wal Mart has a 2 pack exclusive of movie Armored Bats (the armor is blue instead of grey) and Sups in comic colors. I think all the color variants may be Wal mart exclusive.

Il Cattivo 02-22-2016 04:57 PM

That's what my Wal-Mart looked like minus the Transformers stuff. There was also a distinct lack of DC (not counting the BvS mattel stuff they've had out, but there was like half of an aisle with empty pegs waiting for the Batman V Superman push but thankfully a decent number of pegs were exclusively set for TDKR 30th ann. figures so that's nice.

I concur!!! Need the "Thors" comic pack...also interested in the Marvel 500 figurines... don't judge...

PlayTime 02-22-2016 08:59 PM

I dont have to worry so much about passing things up because all the store around me are horrible when it comes to stocking. Imagine the day after 'Black Friday'. That's what my stores look like all the time.

I'm talking Walmart, Target, TRU. Trying to find a supply of DC stuff is nearly impossible. Star Wars is always gone. Legends ... well I'm still seeing Odin series peg warmers in droves.

I have more luck finding things at Walgreens and a clothing store called Fallas.

If I were into Transformers and Minecraft I'd be set though.
