They may not be in any kind of rush to release a human-form Snowbird figure, but I'm assembling quite the menagerie of animal representations of her. :D

Copying a bit of a side-rant that went Marvel-related that I made at another board, dealing with frustration on distribution and why I pre-order all of my waves for this series now.
Fred Meyer (might be Kroger or something else in your area) used to be THE place to get Marvel Universe figures. They would have a different wave - not even a new wave, they were bringing back some classics sometimes - every other week. You had to get in there and get what you wanted or else you were left out in the cold. I lost out on a solid Vision, because the first time I saw the figures there I picked up two others and figured I'd be back the next week after getting paid to get him. Nope. Giggity giggity gone. I had no idea he was rare - or he might not even have been at the time - but I digress. Anyway, as the later waves came out, they stopped stocking the classics every other week, just stocked two cases of the wave before the newest (they stopped having the current line, like at any point - they were always one behind every other store toward the end). The chase and well-liked figures flew off the shelves instantly, and the shelfwarmers just sat and sat and sat - two whole cases at a time of them, because nobody wanted them - until eventually they would disappear (I never did see them go on clearance). Fast forward to the Marvel Infinite line. Fred Meyer actually got them before anybody else that I saw! And Wasp - the most wanted of the line at the time -was MIA. I had pre-ordered a set from Big Bad Toy Store so I only picked up the Hulk that I wouldn't be getting in the set - and what do you know, they sold out and refreshed two more times after that. By that point, Wasp was no longer as hard to come by and the second wave was out... so they briefly clearanced them for like a buck and a half less - and I am wholly convinced that I am the only one that picked up anything out of that deal - a second Wasp and Grim Reaper for customs. Every single Hyperion, Captain America, Hulk, Wasp, Grim Reaper, and Iron Man is still there, to this day, except for those two I took, literally collecting dust, about a year later. And now they're 4 bucks more than the Ultimate figures were. Meanwhile, every other store in the area has progressed to at least 2-3 waves since (I've decided to go without the hassle and just pre-order them but I still keep tabs). Even the two K-Marts I'd been to in the span of a week last month, which were entire stores of barrenness, has the vestiges of the wave before last. Quote:

I put together a display stand for Dr. Strange yesterday. The "crystal ball stand" is a Geonoshian weapon. The crystal ball is a clear marble. A wire supports Dr. Strange in his floating position.

I'm on a short vacation and I found two AOU Scarlet Witch figures for $6 each. Should I get them before leaving? I also found this villain figure from the Generator Rex figure which would make a freaking excellent Baron Strucker besides the head it has for $2.
Also, Nin, are all Fred Meyers like this? If so, I've gotta stop there some time. |
Psycho Pirate, sweet stand, I love it. I plan on making a Dr strange home soon and I might borrow that idea with the wire.
I finally found a spider head that fits best with my personal favorite spidey-body (miles morales buck Spiderman colors) I put the Chameleon's spidey head on the body and put the head on the dark variant Spiderman bosy from early MU: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...psqjuxl5dq.jpg This head is from Pilkster, but I didn't have a Bartoc body to go with it so I used a GIJoe Cobra Shocktrooper as the body and a IM2 nick coat: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...psn3maeeqe.jpg Bought some GiJoes and I used the Dusty from the new 3 pack as fodder, had an extra cap head from the 5poa AoU and Firefly is just one of my favorite villians and bought it for these colors because it looked like the old trading card from the 90s: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...psawz1mh5y.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...ps7xfnaohq.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...ps3nfbnxbx.jpg |

And also, I unfortunately have to leave the place I'm at for vacation so you guys can forget about those Scarlet Witch figures ;-; |
I wouldn't bother being Ant-Man with Pym Particles. Instead, I would shrink Hot Toys figures so that I can get a super detailed Mark Ruffalo figure for my 3 3/4" Marvel collection!
That reminds me, do any of you guy remember the shrunken Ant Man figure on Antony Hot Toy? I'm interested to see how it looks next to 3 3/4" figures. |

There was this one time when I was bidding on eBay and I thought I had it in the bag and I was watching the countdown since it was almost done and when the countdown was finished and the page auto-refreshed, I saw that I lost. eBay didn't tell me that someone bidder higher and I lost because of it. Has this happened to anyone else?
|
Just means someone waited for the last few seconds and bid very high. Hate when it happens to me but I won a lot from doing that so, just part of the game.
|
What do you guys think are the most cool-looking and most detailed 3 3/4" Marvel figures?
