Old Man Logan will coexist with everyone else in the new single universe but X-23 will hold the title of Wolverine. They could choose to bring back Wolverine and have that weird dynamic like recently happened with the "all new X-men" and their normal selves.

My stores still haven't gotten the Doc Ock wave yet, it's pretty annoying. I can't even say there's anything in this wave that I really want but the fact that we aren't getting it here at all is a bad sign.

Are they still in that universe, the all new x-men? i was hoping they would have gotten rid of them...with the whole secret wars thing...i never liked how they're there with the present day x-men.

If you EVER see a white shirt Cage, or a blonde or short haired Widow PLEASE DO NOT OPEN IT! get it somewhere safe and call an adult... or me. now if you'll excuse me I've gotta crack a copy of Action Comics #1 out of the CCG case and make some origami birds!

I'm laughing like a maniac at the last bit.

Here's one of my most prized figures... An awesome custom that I found on eBay!

Welcome!

Also, awesome collection of mutants you got there. Now would you kindly ship them out to me along with that custom? Seriously, though. That's an awesome custom. I also so that on eBay but I was harnessing my chi (money) into a much more powerful attack (figure).

is that the 7" iron monger?
you've just reminded me that I still need one in my collection. the scale on that one is perfect.

Fair point. I just remember what happened to the last topic. Even overabundant comic talk not related directly to toys is off-topic.

Thanks but no thanks on taking my mutants! As they've all been fairly recent purchases, my toy chi is practically nonexistent! What are you saving for?

From what I've researched on the topic, I believe so. The custom was hollowed out and repainted. My figure has to do some serious yoga posing to fit inside!

EDIT: Added some images for scale.

well if we all want to play by the letter of the law this is a 3.75" appreciation thread right? since the MU/MI line is 4" we're all off topic. so unless you're kissing Hasbro's ass your not being "appreciative". Technically there are other threads for customs, comic and movie discussion, other compatible lines, ect. there are only a few new figures coming out annually any more, and we all pre order them, so I think the only way to keep this thread going is to go a bit off topic once and a wile.

by the way, great Dio Pilk! but seeing as how Mortal Kombat is not directly a MARVEL property you might want to hide it somewhere the policy police are watching!

UrsaMagnus 09-04-2015 03:16 PM

Oooo... love that dio, Pilk! I'd considered a dio from you but truthfully I don't know what I'd like. XD

Universe 09-04-2015 03:55 PM

Great work Pilkster; I'm digging the new head molds you came out with. That Dio is superb, it's got Ghost Rider, Mephisto, and Dormammu written all over it.

Pilkster 09-04-2015 04:04 PM

Thanks guys, the guy asked for a generic evil throne. floatin over lava. he wanted some kind of cells so we came up with this design with the 2 holding platforms on each side. I need to add some holding chains and some bones to the platforms and its done.

Hes going to use it for his star wars, MU, G I Joes and mortal kombat figures

Foreddyn 09-04-2015 05:03 PM

Hello Pilkster and other sirs, is there a grinning head I can use for an unmasked Dr Doom? I wanted to get the comics subscription figure because of the maniacal expression he had, but I saw the reviews-it was just a Steve Rogers head. Looking at Green Goblin, it just doesn't fit either.

Oh and being off topic a bit: Amadeus Cho is going to be the new Hulk. And you guys were just discussing diversity.

Nah what I was saying is that the comic talk was part of the reason the old thread got closed.

Professor X was paralysed, but has telepathy, Daredevil is blind, but has sonar, Echo is deaf, but can mimic movements. It really depends on the disability, and the power they have. Obviously you couldn't have muscle problems, but then be kicking ninjas to death. These are super humans, conditions resulting in disabilities wouldn't affect most of them because they're super.

Yet we still manage to have heterosexuality all over the comics? And terrible shoehorned romance between Natasha and Bruce?

Victoria Hand was a lesbian in the comics AND THEY KILLED HER. She had a thing with Izzy AND THEY KILLED HER TOO. The disposability of queer women on TV is a huge and extremely aggravating issue in of itself.

This is a big part of why representation matters.

Scarlet Witch is easily one of my favorite Avengers and she only got one crappy 5POA toy for the movie, she was a chunk of the reason I enjoyed AoU. One of the main reasons I look forward to Civil War is seeing more of her, I really hope they expand her character and how she feels about having nearly aided Ultron in his genocide. I hope she and Vision are at least friends but I can absolutely see them ditching their romance because that's creepy.

I'm trans so a bit less about the Chromosomes lol

But yeah it's ridiculous how pivotal a character she was and she got so less.

idk how creepy the Vision/Wanda Romance is I thought it was cute... though I'm more of a CarolWanda shipper these days :)

They are mine, SONIC BOOM!!!

The X-men cartoon was the biggest contributor to my "Comic" knowledge and still to this day I only skim over comics as I prefer movies and cartoons. Probably me just being lazy, lol. I was never fans of Wolverine or Raphael for the same reasons, if you are always an asshole how are you the good guy? I always felt like Cyclops was the ultimate "GOOD" guy and as a Kid that made sense to me. As I get older I understand more of where Wolvie and Raph are coming from, but their attitudes still drive me crazy.

As for the all the PC nonsense and jargon I say no to kids making out on Disney channel. I have no kids, but I would imagine that I would not want my 6 or 7 year old watching kids make out regardless of what their genders are or sexual orientations. I personally hate all things PC, "Oh I am somewhat offended by some nonsense remove this nonsense so that I can feel entitled for the day or until the next Yahoo has a problem with something else and then I will be forced to choose my next BS battle that has nothing to do with you but somehow manages to effect you..." it kills me. I feel like if Cyclops was in charge things would go a lot smoother.

So in conclusion Fuck Kanye! <- Been saying it since Bonnaroo 2008
Scott Summers for President 2020!

it's not about people being offended. people need to realise that about "Political correctness" which is really just another word for politeness and respect.

it was and is still pretty for me and my career prospects are pretty dim, being a disabled transgender women. people who exist at intersections like me are treated as a joke, but i know plenty of people who are marginalised in more than one way because that's what happens when you get real people and not one dimensional characters.

A lot of the time people take offence for a very good reason. but people plug their ears and say "Social justice warriors!" or "PC Gone mad!" so don't stick around for an explanation.

I hate for example that I don't have a single figure of a Transgender character. And the few that exist(Crappy Knock off Birdo figures, a few Poison PVCs) aren't exactly to my liking.it's really depressing when you feel like you're never allowed to be the hero. sure I don't always relate to the trans character the most when there is one(Laverne Cox's character definitely isn't my favourite in OITNB) but why is it only people like me that are asked to relate to people different to themselves, constantly?

we need to at least be told and shown we have people like us to latch onto. like i've become obsessed with Ghoulia Yelps from Monster High and want a doll(I Never buy Fashion dolls) because the character is obviously presented as autistic.

I gave a Roma kid my Scarlet Witch and Quiksilver figures and when I told them they had Roma heritage just like him he fell in love with them. When I tried explaining they cast white actors and covered up that bit of them in Age of Ultron, it was really depressing

These things matter. When you're sheltered or shielded from what it's like to exist on these intersections, it might look like clamouring for nothing. But all of these "offences" are taken for a reason. Representation is so very very valuable, you have absolutely no idea.

Sam as Cap is probably the best fit, if it was only him. but a complete overnight PC realignment is just lazy story telling. These characters have lived the lives they did to become who they are to simply scrap them out and replace them because being a white male isn't gosh with the brainwashed masses anymore is just a pathetic attempt to stay "fresh and relevant" you want a good example that shouldn't offend any one: the new Hulk is Thor?!?! why? He's Thor! (oh excuse me chick got his name when she took his hammer) He's Odinson (oh wait that's sexist) lets make him green and call him hulk! lazy writing!

like you say your problem is one thing but then you go on to reveal a lot of really socially regressive leanings...

I don't think it's lazy storytelling. It's a soft reboot, like New 52 except done sort of right.

The fact is that most of these characters have been around since the 60s/70s and unfortunately things were a lot less progressive than they are nowadays. A lot of groups got shut out of feeling like they could be heroes too, and that's really hurtful. The movies are largely white dude fests, which isn't a lot of fun for someone like me who wants to see She Hulk, or Kamala Khan, or Wasp, or god forbid a character who's queer like me(Valkyrie? Idk, not that many queer characters in Marvel really esp. outside of X-verse).

It's not about offending people. It's about making sure that as many people as possible. Plus, it helps keep things fresh and interesting and gives you more archetypes, character histories etc. to draw from. Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan is a great example of that. It wouldn't be the same comic if she wasn't Muslim, even if her being Muslim isn't really the central point of it. There's no reason why we should only pander to straight white cis dudes.

Writing it off as "offence" thing is deeply disrespectful towards everyone like me. I honestly don't feel comfortable hearing the term PC at all and would appreciate you didn't use it. It's not because I'm somehow oversensitive, it's because i have a long history of bullying, abuse and even violence that couldn't imagine. I've dealt with a lot more than most people. And I think I deserve more respect than to be treated like a whiny baby, which tbh describes most entitled white dude geeks more accurately anyway.

When you complain about PC what you're really saying is "I don't respect you as a human being in the slightest." You're saying you don't care about other people's struggles, or don't want to hear about them. You're writing off equality as part of some liberal conspiracy rather than a very real need for a lot of people.

We need to call a spade a spade and not pretending that this sort of thing is a cute opinion - it's not. It's malice. And I would really appreciate if people stopped doing it.

Actually, my Magneto is a WIP custom. I took the cape from a Wolverine & The X-men Magneto and put it on my Secret Wars 2-pack figure. I haven't seen an open shot of the SHS Magneto though...
