5. Hulk: I loved the big 2 pack version but the newer single version dark green for me. until I get the Avengers Assemble version with a head swap)
6. Wolverine: ! that came with Sentinel
11: Magneto: Cant decide as both figures arnt right in my opinion
12: Dr. Doom: olive green original
14: DareDevil: comic two pack
17: Sabertooth: XMO 2 pack with the Blob
18: Red Skull: SDCC 70'th set
20: Ultron: SW two pack if you only wanted one If you wanted a few, get the single release and make your own Ultron Prime.

1. Ultimate Captain America from MU wave 1 for Ultimates and Commander Rogers for normal. Both are epic figures. I tend to prefer the Commander Rogers suit though for that character now. At least until they release the new Nick Fury.
4. Amazing Friends 3 pack spidey is my personal preferred.
5. Incredible Hulk movie version. I like the bigger bulk of that figure in comparison to the scale. Though I should consider getting a smaller one too for a more 'controlled' hulk persona iteration. The movie line has some great figures though that make hulk feel more menacing and interactive to displays like a hulk unleashed. The scene in the Norton hulk movie where he fights Blonski on the super soldier serum though reminds me of the Ultimates movie battle, so I prefer that kind of scale on a Hulk that's more untamed.
6. Astonishing all the way. Does the height better too.
11. Ultimate with new hands and cape. At least until better is made.
12. Combine Doom and Ultron, Go Doom 2099. All other Dooms are inferior. ;)
14. MI single repacked or the comic two pack as suggested. That buck comes in handy for soooooo much too. I like the MI armored daredevil, but the two pack/repacked one has tons better articulation for acrobatic poses. So it's a coin flip for me on favorite costume or better poses.
17. Backwoods Brawl set. Sabretooth with short hair for that costume until they do his modern suit.
18. Avengers assemble version's head on an avengers assemble ironman body is pretty damn epic.
20. What's suggested, but if going the single pack one, I suggest the two pack one's head on an extremis Ironman body with maybe Iron Grenadier legs if you don't want to keep the Ironman ones(though maybe still keep the feet). The two pack version has a slightly brighter silver than the single packed one. The extremis unibeam is easier to remove too than other ironman figures, and the neck tilt is nice. Added bonus if you can snag one of the translucent extremis ironmans. Gives some really cool power glow effects in the creases. If you don't want to repaint that figure, there is an Avengers cover where ultron's head is on that armor's body.
22. Falcon - Avengers Assemble version.
23. Hawkeye - Avengers Assemble version.

Everything else I agree with Plikster on.

I'll change my views once captain marvel, sam wilson cap, and the new Thor are released.

Iceman is a bit tricky though. Cause you can use different ones for each version. Like I prefer the amazing friends 3 pack one for Young Bobby and then the XMO one or one of the toy biz ones for the modern adult Bobby.

Ironman is another depends on preferences. I like the IM2 ultimate armor for ultimates, and usually use whatever the newest released armor is for normal universe dios. The previous goes to the armory per every upgrade release. Which is why I need a Tony Stark single carded figure release already.

Hey hey hey guys!!!!

Been awhile, but am back. Went on holiday for two weeks and got back and did about six weeks work in two weeks. Can finally catch my breath.

My inbox is full, have a load of back reading on the thread to do, left a couple deals hanging before I left, a lot of toy ark homework to catch up on.

I have a package to ship to a couple people here. Everything is now ready as well. I need to answer my inbox stuff as well.

It is a chore taking a break and coming back!! ;)

Started getting a few more Ultrons to start that army. Just getting six figures and a Prime and NO MORE!!! Got my last AIM, and final Doom as well. Just need one more Skrull and the armies are done!!!!!!! Well, still have some customs to finish up for SHIELD and am still getting more HYDRA goons. But for the most part we are finished army building!!!!

Big shout out to everyone and I look forward to catching up!!!

Welcome UCK-MOO, new faces are always nice to see, lol.

I'm messing around with the idea of a toy that "plays" on it's own. Still very much a prototype, but wanted suggestions. All of my ideas involve Hulk, lol. What are some of yours. Help me make this into something cool! It started as a solar powered boat that paddled.

But I also think alot of asking what's cool is fellow fans trying to see what past figure have come out the they might have missed like forge from the wolvie cartoon or some of the shs figures like beast or Spidey. Gotta remember just because alot of collectors are buying now they probly missed out on past coolness or think that the veteran collectors may know of a better figure to supplement their collections than what they themselves have seen

And oh yeah K DUB I'll be hitting you up for a chair and I need a paint job soon on a figure...

I was in no way giving people grief over asking which versions of characters are the best, I do it all the time. I just find it kind of odd when I see new threads started asking a general open ended question like "I'm new to collecting... What should I buy?" Nothing at all wrong with that but there are so many toy lines and scales. I guess i just know exactly what I like for the most part, but I do check out reviews and seek others advice too. I think it's like me asking what food to eat, which shoes to wear, or which women to date, I just find it curious is all. No grief or lack of slack intended lol.

Im with Kernel. For me I knew I wanted 3.75 scale figures and picked the attires and figures I prefer.. I've coked up a few times with a few figures eg wolverine. I wanted the 90s x men version and bought the 2 pack with the hand ninja and it was a horrible figure then bought a sentinel and it was perfect. I think it's all about preference and a bit of research find who you want and then ask about which version of that attire.. Alot of people hate the first bucks (vision buck) but I know 2 guys that prefer the daredevil because 1 like the buck and the other prefers all his daredevils to be be the same buck.. by all means ask but have a idea first...

Welcome back UKMU hope you got those flags ;)

An action figure that plays with itself? Absolutely needs to be Deadpool!

Lol, I think I like uck moo better than you Kay em you!

As for toys that do all sorts look into the old clockwork stuff. They have been animating those for 600 years. Lots of gears and strings though. Maybe something mixed with solar? When I saw your prototype I thought Silver Surfer on a board "surfing" straight away.

Universe 09-07-2015 07:57 PM

Welcome back UKMU, glad to see you're back and your presence was missed.

K Dub, I love your Idea man! have you seen the solar powered flowers/animals/ect. office decorations that you put in the window and they "dance" or wobble back and forth? SPOILER ( they charge a small electro magnet that has an opposite charge to a standard magnet that's positioned on a pendulum attached to a loosely balanced head, as the electro magnet produces a field it pushes the standard magnet causing it to rock back and forth as it's weight pulls it back into the detraction field, causing your pandas head to bobble back and forth. the whole mechanism is only about half an inch square, and the solar diode is less than an inch (calculator sized) I was thinking if you were to hollow out a figures feet, place the magnets in the bottoms, and put the solar diode on his back (you'd be better at the customizing around the gear to camouflage it than me) you could theoretically get say a Magneto or Vision that levitates over a magnetic base in the sunlight. just a thought.

ukmu 09-07-2015 08:14 PM

Cheers, I can feel the love like a Lion King video!

I like the Mandroid mech a lot! I just got some scale mini Mandroids from Pilk I will shoot and post soon. ( I love them and I did get those flags thank you) I think Clay Quatermain never looked so good! Great shots Universe!!!

If you paint some parts and take off the stickers it would be the perfect Mandroid.

Kamatayan 09-07-2015 09:09 PM

Do any of you guys have any of the giant MU figures that you have for sale? Giant-Man Skrull, Bill Foster, Goliath, Sentinel, etc. I'm dying to have one in my collection.

Yeah I browsed toy aisles for years and would only buy maybe a figure once a year or so until the MU line came out. Nothing else appealed to me for a long time. Funny I waited a long time for that perfect wolverine too, and assumed I was gonna have to bite the bullet and drop like $70 on a sentinel to get that yellow wolverine for my bday present back in like 2011 or 2012 (justifying the price by thinking it came with 2 figures that I wanted). Right before I pulled the trigger I found a sentinel for like $20 at Ross. Maybe one of the best moments of collecting this line for me, after I found it I told my wife I had a nerdgasm.

Lucky bastard! I was too young to be able to appreciate MU when it was in its glory days. Do you know how painful it is knowing that I'll probably never get Galactus, a Sentinel, and all of this other stuff! The cheapest Sentinel I've found was $90 xD

The same guy from last time has the 5 POA Vision's up again. Definitely not paying $30 for a 5 POA figure regardless of its rarity.

Goodwill blind bags?! Were they specifically for Marvel figures or just random stuff in general?

Random. I could feel hot wheel cars in the other bags

Is it really easy to feel what's in each bag? If so, I'm heading down to Goodwill. Who knows. Maybe a teenager sold his brother's MU collection for money and that kid just so happened to have a solid Vision.

deathofthelines 09-08-2015 10:15 AM

I wouldn't go with hope that high. It was a cheap ass brown paper bag u could probly rip a tiny hole in the bag. Most likely I lucked out.

Kernel 09-08-2015 10:21 AM

^The goodwills around me have giant clear bags, usually happy meal toys and other junk. Rarely I'll see a GI Joe or old DC infinite heroes in there. Never have seen an MU in one of those bags.

Keep an eye out on ebay and toy swap meets etc. I bought the flesh/tan colored sentinel this year for like $40 on ebay with the wolverine figure.
