My girlfriend is a HUGE Grimlock fan, and I was lucky enough to find a couple of gifts for her on Mother's Day.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...2011.47.53.jpg

And I must say...the Construct Bot is AMAZING when it's fully assembled. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's the best one that's been done so far, and I honestly think it looks better than almost all of the Grimlock toys coming out for the major line!

Robot mode is beefy and intimidating, and best yet, no gorilla arms!
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...511_123534.jpg

But his Carnotaurus mode (Since he's not a T-Rex in the movie) is beastly!

There's a bit of kibble when he's in dinosaur mode (but he's a Construct bot, so really...what did you expect?) but I think he's one of the best Grimlock toys, if not THE best for the upcoming movie. I highly recommend this guy. I'm gonna have to run out and grab another one for myself!

Whoa. You just convinced me to buy one if/when I find it, and I don't even collect the constructbots. How much do those things typically run?

Anyhoo, I stopped buying NECA stuff a long time ago, but I couldn't pass on these two for $9.99 each.

Also got this in the mail yesterday for when I get all the parts to assemble my first 1/6 custom. Can anyone guess who this iconic weapon will belong to?

(Except for poor Voyager Optimus :( )I'm really hoping to find Scorn soon, he looks sick! Good find and congrats!

Thanks, always exciting to find stuff before street date...Here's to finding Grimlock by the end of the week!!!

Bingo. Bonus points for mentioning RE2 specifically, though I suppose "Matilda" here could also work for a possible RE4 custom considering it was unlockable.

I'll hopefully be getting the other various pieces of Leon in the mail soon.

I think he's part of the "Basic" class, which should be $9.99 USD, depending on where you find him.

I've got all the Construct-Bots released so far, so I will definitely pick this one up as well. It doesn't hurt that I'm also a fan of Grimlock, too.

I also want to get one of those Dino Riders sets to test out the new gimmick and size class with Grimmy.

Brownfinger 05-12-2014 11:30 AM

Man, I want some friggin' Dinobots.
I did get one of those stupid magnets and took some bolt cutters to it and now I have a perfect and inexpensive Lego Boba Fett!

It's reassuring to see that there are plenty of other Transformers collectors here who are fans of the Construct-Bots. I initially had no interest in them, as I was not really impressed by the couple of Kre-O sets I bought. However, the more I saw them in stores, the more I liked the designs, as they looked more Cybertronian than terrestrial.
Also, just the other day, a friend and I were discussing how great it would be if Hasbro were to manufacture more Transformers comparable to Gundam figures, in that the buyer had to assemble it themselves. The Takara FJ Cruiser Optimus Prime I bought recently had a snap-on exoskeleton, and I really enjoyed the process of assembling him.

I think that these Construct-Bots just might be what I'm looking for!
And, at the clearance prices that they're selling for now, I think I'll pick up a couple.

Poison Shadow 05-12-2014 06:09 PM

Got my first order of FCBD books, as well as a tiny little package that came all the way from China.

That's not the exact right type of vest that I needed for a future 1/6 custom, but I figure it's close enough.

collectvintage 05-12-2014 08:42 PM

have MU figures been arriving recently to the disney stores?

Honestly, when I first saw them, I wasn't too thrilled by the idea of the Construct bots, as I thought they looked somewhat goofy, and I think some of them still do. I do have Starscream and Thundercracker, which I love in that the parts weren't used, and the vehicle modes look completely different from one another. It really gives them personality. I was kinda bummed that Silverbolt came out before Skywarp, but hopefully, they'll get Warp out there in the near future.

This Grimlock one surprised the hell out of me though. He actually looks good enough to pose with the regular line, and looks great in either mode. Definitely a lot better than I expected, and I highly recommend...

I picked 5 of these up on Friday - Megatron, Shockwave, Thundercracker, Starscream and Ironhide - having shunned them for months... And I regret doing so. They are awesome. I'll be keeping an eye out for the Grimlock AOE one now, as it's the only AOE toy that has appealed to me so far.

EDIT: Make that 6 - just got Blitzwing.

Yeah, if you can snag them for cheap, definitely pick some of them up. They are totally worth your time and the more sets you get, the more creative you can be with robot and alt modes (such as making C-B Blitzwing a true Triple-Changer with no parts-forming).

There's also a whole thread over at TFW dedicated to custom Construct-Bots builds.

I just won sugar man on ebay. I've always wanted to have that ugly little shit. I'm pretty stoked that I finally got him at a cheap price point. I also won some lego bootleg figures. Yeahhhhh!

Il Cattivo 05-13-2014 03:34 PM

Woohoo! Found Transformers Generations Legends Cosmos and Swerve last night!

Now just need to find Tailgate and Skrapnel then can backtrack and try and find RTS Windcharger.

Sadly, still only one target in the area is carrying Marvel Infinite, and they still haven't restocked. T_T
