Nice.. I WISH I could get a group of figs to stand up on their own like this.. my attempts end in dominos! LOL

TheLongestDay 03-24-2012 02:32 PM

Agreed, I think I paid $40 for mine, that's at the top of the range. But a great figure for sure. The gray variant has a closed mouth which I would have preferred, but I don't need another high dollar Beast figure. I'll wait for the new MU one.

Edit: While they are reasonable, grab a Showdown Thing and Thor too, they do not disappoint.

So far Ive stuck with my Showdown F4,even though Sue might have a bit of a strange look I still prefer them to the MU ones released so far

I have all of these except Torch and gotta admit the Thing is still very much way ahead of any MU version of him.

Here's my Wiccan and Hulkling with the sculpting almost done.

And here they are primed and ready to go.
Just bought some new model paint, but I think it's going to be a while before I can get a coat on these guys. Bummer.

I'm thinking Patriot needs an upgrade if these two are going to be on the shelf.

Some of my new setup. I know you guys like your Dio's but I dont have any sets and doubt I will ever get any. I just like to do static type setups.

Mixed in with some mini busts. ;-)

Awesome! I love MU X-men group shots... it is the reason why I collect MU to begin with.

Ahhhhhh! Too old! LOL. Damn... look at those figs... MU has come such a long way.

bmorr 03-24-2012 04:03 PM

can you believe how long the line has been around? MU is 4 years old as of this month. according to wikipedia the figs first came out in march of '09.

Thanks bud! Greenstuff is real sticky stuff to work with. Keep water within close reach for your fingers and sculpting tools. Kind of like old gum. At least the results ain't bad

Appreciate it. Yeah Wiccan. Got tired of waiting on Hasbro to make all the Young Avengers.

Yikes. I can't believe it's been that long. I hopped on board with wave 2; Iron Fist was my first figure, and then I picked up the rest of the wave 1 and 2. Never looked back. Jeez, now I feel really old.

Here's to MU, and hopefully it's long, long life.

(damn we put up with some rough sculpts for the first few waves...)

No, there's a better one (though that's cool) with long hair and his mouth is open in a yell.
Freakin think looked like MU had made it as a Gigatic Battles fig!

I know, it's insane. I really want a Beast in that uniform/stage or mutation but I am not going to pay that. I remember passing on this thing when it was out but I already had the one from the old 90's X-Men animated line (still had all my childhood figures) and didn't feel the need to buy the showdown stuff. I almost bought him on ebay early last year when I started collecting MU stuff but didn't. I hope his price goes back down to reasonable.

SH0CKWAVE 03-24-2012 07:15 PM

yikes. that Showdown Sue Storm is like something out of a nightmare plastic surgery horror movie. she's so hideous. Showdown Human Torch is also very, very horrible.

no offense to TheLongestDay, but i'd look into upgrading to the MU versions - except for Showdown Thing, which is pretty epic.

re: Showdown Beast, i'd say wait until the MU Beast is "unleashed" for SHS prices to go down. People will be selling their SHS Beast's to try and capitalize on Beast-Fever, but that always translates to competing sellers forced to lower prices in order to move units.

That looks cool as hell. The lighting on Xavier is great. You should stuff as many mutant figures in around him as possible.

I want the Prof bust now.

I've held off buying most of the Avengers line for just such an emergency. I think I'll pick up Loki tomorrow....
