Not my custom, but here is a Mastermold that was done with a Giant Superman and the Toybiz Mastermold figure for the head.

I think I have that Superman figure. It's the Superman returns 31 inch one, if I'm not mistaken.

The Masterworks figures were somewhere around $50 at retail (as I recall some stores wanted more and others less), I didn't really want the Galactus that much but I got lucky and found two Sentinels at a Ross/Marshalls/T.J.Maxx (I don't remember which one it was) for like $20 each and they were both the gold-faced classic color versions, needless to say I was pretty thrilled.

I scored 3 classic sentinels from those stores during the holiday season, all those stores you mentioned have em, the $20 are from Ross , Tjmaxx/Marshall had em for $30.

Sorry I meant the SDCC MU of Galactus and Sentinel when they were being sold during release time.

Oh those, well shit $100 is cheap considering you also have to factor the price of a ticket and what not. I think that's the big reason SDCC exclusives get so damn expensive on the after market is because of how much they charge just to go to the convention.

LapuLapu 09-21-2015 05:04 PM

MOC SDCC Sentinel and Galactus for $100 both is a steal , regular retail for each figure for those , I believe are $50 .

kylactus 09-21-2015 05:13 PM

they were 50 at the con, then they shot up to the 200 range after market, the sentinel leveled off at about 150, Galactus still gets 200 average. they have the distinction of being the largest carded figures ever produced.

Supply and demand are a huge factor too I'm guessing. I don't think they make much of some of the exclusives as some of them sell out in minutes when they are on HTS.

Anyone else considering getting that revoltech movie Ultron? At 6.7 inches you can argue it is in perfect scale for MU, or at least good enough for me. I have hesitated going into the higher end collectibles but with the crap that hasbro put out for AoU I could justify it.

if I can find one, I've never bought any Japanese figures before, I wish there was a good stateside outlet. even if it's pricey, like you said, I haven't spent anything on AOU yet so it's worth it.

on the masterworks figures, I'm amazed Galactus goes for more than the sentinel, no one's going to army build galactus, but you need at least two sentinels, so you'd figure if they were produced in similar numbers there would be at least twice the demand for sentinels.

They are making a Revoltech Mini Ultron as well, are they not?

.

I was thinking around 5". I'm buying it regardless of height. And he is crazy tall anyways. In the AOU extras, the actors had to look at this huge pole above Spader that represented Ultron's head. That's how tall Ultron is.

leave it in package! they are great figures, but if you want them loose just stalk ebay for a few months you'll get loose versions for a fraction of the price. in my opinion opening a great rare collectible toy is like fooling around with a hot girl that's not great in bed, sure it's a lot of fun for a few seconds, but afterwards there's just emptiness and regret, and your left wishing you just stared at the pretty package... NOT WORTH IT!
plus your only getting two unique figures, and the way it's going there is a good chance they'll get repacked in the MI line eventually. (have you ever known Hasbro to scrap a unique mold after one use?) Patience grasshopper.

Yeah I saw some scale thing saying he is supposed to be 8' tall, pretty damn tall.

As for your masters of evil... I bought mine loose so I did not have that dilemma. You could be super careful and have it both ways. I think those are easy enough to repackage if you feel guilty after opening. If it's too painful just leave it MOC lol

Yes; the prototype has Revolmini joints on Google searches (edit: upon closer inspection I think this is the Revolmini version that we saw in prototype phase). This Ultron is to compete with Figurarts and they can hold thier shoulders high on this one. It's gorgeous; very tempted to purchase it; kind of excessive with my BAF at this point in my thinking but some figures just scream awesome and the poses they are showing are stunning.

EDIT: ah, who am I kidding; I'm TOTALLY getting this figure!!

Some of the accessories I just purchased on eBay without the figures. I prefer the MU 1:18 scale figures too!

No problem @Universe! I use a lot of Photoshop so I have green for compositing plus black and white too.

As far as I know, by comparison to the prototype's sculpt and joints; they are sure close. I'm thinking it is, by looking closely at the prototype and painted version. He stands at 6'7 inches which scales nicely to our 4" MU's. So I'm thinking this is the thing we have been waiting for. Hooray!!

Those tubes are outstanding. I always envy those of you who have/had the foresight to pick up these seemingly oddball things that now make perfect accessories.

kylactus 09-21-2015 09:29 PM

what are the tubes from?

Love this description, i know exactly what you mean ;)

Kamatayan 09-22-2015 04:15 AM

Oh crap, I hope this is the Mini Ultron! And if it's 6.7" or around that it should scale well with MU stuff.
