Short answer is do not go toy shopping when you are dead tired, are half awake and do not remember what you already bought. I was so excited to stumble across it that I snatched it up and went home....only to remember I had bought the other one already.... |
I wish I could find a second Black Widow...
|
So the other day, I dropped by my local grocery store to pick up some basics, when I ran into this guy of all things in the toy aisle...
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...625_004743.jpg Was SUPER stoked to finally run into the new Turtle Van at TRU tonight on the way home from work. While I don't have any of the movie turtles other than Shredder and April, I couldn't resist picking it up for my Nickelodeon Turtles because I HATED the Shellraiser design. It was basically a rolling box to put the turtles in. This one actually has seats and a steering wheel of all things! TRU actually refused to sell it to me at first, citing embargo reasons, but I was able to coerce them by telling them that I'll simply take my money elsewhere. They changed their tune shortly afterwards. :p http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_184113.jpg Then when I got home, my order from Ringside Collectibles was waiting for me. Demolition Crush! At the risk of exposing a possible hidden man-crush (no pun intended) I actually got a little misty eyed when I saw the beautiful portrait of Brian Adams on the side of the box, because I grew up in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, and was blessed enough to actually meet Brian on more than one occasion. It brought back a flood of memories. He was a true gentle giant, very soft spoken, and one of the nicest, sweetest and humble guys you could hope to meet. R.I.P. Brian Adams... http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_195853.jpg |
I've never been a huge fan of superheroes to be honest but I did enjoy the old Batman TV show as a kid so I got this:

I noticed that there were no reviews up on youtube just yet on the Movie TMNT Assault Van, so I thought I'd post a few pictures to confirm to any of you wondering that the van IS compatible with most of the Nickelodeon figures, since the movie versions of the turtles are in a slightly smaller scale than the Nick line.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_234659.jpg Assembling the vehicle is a breeze. Only a few pieces needed be snapped on. Getting the decals on though...this was perhaps the most tedious and frustrating set of decals I have worked with since the Reprolabel Knock Out upgrade. The labels are not terribly complicated or anything like that, but they tear easily, especially when pulling them from the sheet, and the adhesive is very good, bonding nearly instantaneously with the vehicle surface. Exercise caution putting them on, they rip easily if you have to peel them from the vehicle to re-adjust. And there are a lot of them. The decals in the cab were incredibly frustrating, especially the ones that make up the vehicle's floormats. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_235050.jpg The front opens up easily to....OH YES! DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS! The steering wheel adjusts to easily fit the turtles in, and the bottom of the driver's side even has molded brake, gas, and clutch petals! http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_235331.jpg The Turtles fit easily on the Luge sled that comes with the van as well. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_234620.jpg Autobots....erm....Turtles!...Roll Out! http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...627_235413.jpg |

1. Why is Slash's head so... small?
2. That Batman is not worth $5, let alone %26!! 3. I hate how people will find things I want at Ross, but then I will go to 7 of them and none of them will have a single thing. |

|
Might be kinda small for Link. Think it's almost 1:18th scale:

Hmm the more pictures I see I think SWB and most other 6" figures might look passable on it.
